trechriron
I want to create an alternate setting guide for Eclipse Phase, advancing the time line, adding in anti-gravity and FTL travel/communications, etc. I am pretty sure I can do a system-free update under the Creative Commons (what Eclipse Phase was released under) and share this for free with the world. :-D I want to use BRP with Eclipse Phase. I want to create character sheets, player references and handouts, and a conversion guide. Can I share this for free on the web? What are Chaosium's fan content policies? Secondly, could I create a conversion guide for my alternate setting for BRP and share this for free on the web? I appreciate your time! rust
I think the best way to go would be to contact Chaosium and ask them whether they would have any problem with your project. Jason D
I'm not a rep for Chaosium, but I believe you can do all of that. It's only when you try to charge for such things or claim original authorship over copywrit material that there would be a problem.
cjbowser
Like Rust says, ask Chaosium. Send an email to dustin@chaosium.com and he'll be able to either answer your questions or guide you to someone who can. Trifletraxor
Chaosium has a very easy going fan content policy. As long as it's all non-commercial, original material and you add a line about copyright, like "Basic Roleplaying is the registered trademark of Chaosium, Inc.", maybe also a link to www.chaosium.com - then I believe it should be all okay. Bleddyn
If I where to ever craft a supplement I can't make a profit (it would ruin my tax exempt status I am a wounded vet on pension). I wonder if it would be sold and an portion could go to benefit charities? Its not like I do anything except raise my kids paint 28mm AWI,SYW and WAB Minis.... Swim and love the heck out of my wife. Anyone here have any insight into these matters of Desktop publishing and OGL etc... specifically the BRP based systems? If you were to make a monograph or supplement for the Basic Roleplaying system to be published by Chaosium or Alephtar games, you could just chose to give your payment to charity. That's the two most obvious options for creating a supplement ment to be sold. SGL. Quote Ef plest master, this mighty fine grub! 116/420. High Priest.
