What I am currently using is 5e battle rolls, but I include at least one major event in each battle, which is resolved like normal combat. I might transition to 6e battle rules once the full rules are out; based on what I have seen, I like them better than 5e, but I might drop the morale system as a complication that I don't want to deal with.
