Something like this would have been the letters we know from Bronze Age cuneiform. A bit like the old Fadabius dispatches. So why not start a thread here with such letters? Take campaign events, and let your adversaries or allies to the player characters report the mishap (of their not so esteemed colleagues/immediate superiors) to their far away superiors.
