As for your original post-- I had a discussion with Charlie Krank about Secrets of Japan back at the time when he was running Chaosium. He told me the author had provided him several lengthy manuscripts intended to complete the first book, but that he did not want to publish them because he thought 'there would be no interest' -- but then we all know about Charlie's business acumen 😞

You may also want to check the free partial preview for Rise of the Yōkai Koku, a supplement for Revolution D100 set at the time of the Sengoku Jidai, that Alephtar Games had circulated. The fully-fledged product wasn't funded 😞

I can't see why there should be Yelmalio worship in Umathela. The Orlanthi here left Genertela before the spread of Yelmalian worship.

According to the Guide (p621) Orlanthi worship in Umathela is no different to Genertela. Then by closely reading the gazetteer you can spot a few minor differences (e.g., worship of Tyloque, p637).

I use the wiki a lot as a GM. I never use it as a player, nor would I recommend it as a player-friendly tool.

As the GM (and using the wikia) I have written a "Player's Primer to Chern Durel and Northern Kralorela", which I have distributed to the players. This enables me to control how much information starting characters know about the setting, to orientate it towards my own views of Chern Durel and Northern Kralorela (since YGWV), and to make sure important facts are known and shared ("they hate Ignorants in Baihu").

BTW all the major NPCs in that book use a John Spaienza "Major NPC" sheet, which I have never seen elsewhere, and which is pretty cool.

Do we have a thread for the RQ Classic material? I've spotted a few errors in the PDFs.

The rules have gone through various iterations (as exemplified by the Quickstart booklet).

I let them use Augments all the time. The risk is theirs to handle (see p145).

We've been using the blackjack (i.e., highest but still under the skill value) rule for our RQG playtest campaign, and it works very well.

YGWV. As someone who has been refereeing in Chern Durel for about one year and who is more interested in gameable stuff than in theological discourse, I can offer the following:

- The Black Sun is the main god of Chern Durel (the former Kingdom of Ignorance), worshipped by both humans and trollkin. He is simultaneously a part of the Yelm pantheon and a Darkness deity.

- The Chaos vs Anti-Chaos antagonism is not as important in Eastern Genertela as elsewhere [the main antagonisms in Eastern Genertela are: Ignorance vs Splendour, and Waking World vs Nightmare], but the Black Sun is definitely NOT Chaotic, and the Uz who formerly lived in Ignorance (and who now live in the neighbouring lands) are definitely anti-Chaos since they are also subject to the Curse of Kin.

- The relationship between the Black Sun and the Blood Sun is not very clear. By reading the text on p286 of the Guide, my understanding is that the Black Sun and the Blood Sun are two different interpretations of the "Suns to Come" prophecy by different people (the Uz for the Black Sun, and Jorazzi Redhands for the Blood Sun). The Black Sun is the majority cult (p287) but in my Glorantha the Blood Sun has been making progress thanks to the maize connection with the Lunar Empire.
