  1. Does this mean that if I wanted to convert, let's say a mecha from Patlabor, you would take its lifting capacity converted to kgs and use your formula for SIZ to get its STR, rather than, what I did, which is to convert its lifting capacity to Newtons and then apply your formula to derive its STR?
  2. Looks like I'm going have yet another RPG supplement to purchase. Curse you for referencing Thundarr. Curse you!
  3. I would dearly love that to happen. It would make cross-system conversions so much easier. I could have spelljammer vessels that actually make sense, in one sense I mean flying sailing ships in space doesn't make sense.
  4. Oh hey, that might come in handy. And why do I have deju-vu about this? And about that part?
  5. I'm using brp mecha do a fantasy mecha game. I've been converting adnd monsters to kaiju.
  6. I don't really see what's wrong with using passions, traits or motivations to compel a PCs actions in a mecha game. So, I got another weird observation. This time about the usage of a grid and miniatures. I'm wondering why it is recommended that the squares be 50mm and equal to 20m with size 2 and 3 mecha being placed on 50mm bases. I can understand it for size 3 and above, but it doesn't make much sense to me for size 2 mecha to be on a 50mm base. A mini representing a 10 to 13 meter tall mecha at the 50mm=20m scale would be 25 to 32.5 mm tall, and would be dwarfed by the 50mm base it was placed on. I took some pictures of the mecha figures my group has been using on a 25mm grid. Nuking Windmills From Orbit, Trying to figure out why the writer of Basic...
  7. Then I should probably figure out a way to marry the motivations and fate point system with Pendragon's traits and passions.
  8. I've noticed that, unless I am doing something wrong, mecha scale melee weapons tend to OBLITERATE mecha limbs.
  9. sweet. Can't wait until I got a physical copy. It will make table reference much easier.
  10. You haven't run into the fans of anime that I have then. "Robotech sucks because it's not Macross" "Why are you watching the dub of this anime instead of watching the subbed version, it's so much better" "The correct title is 'badly pronounced Japanese' not 'reasonably translated into English'" It might be an American thing to have anime snobbery though.
  11. Considering that the US military still teaches room clearing with m16s to recruits, and m4 carbines are used by everybody else in theater backed up with shotguns and short-barreled m249s, I don't think that SMGs would superior to semi-automatic carbines in most room clearing situations. The only penalties I could think of that would make sense would rounds penetrating the walls into other houses, room and possibly killing hostages, friendlies or non-combatants. This problem is fixed with frangible rounds. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frangible As for opening a door, usually the guy opening the door isn't the first one in, because he probably doesn't have both his hands on his weapon, or is off balanced.
  12. Excellent now I don't have to convert from other games for my mecha Pendragon game.
