  1. I think it'll be no real changes for the next session. I'm reading through BRP, Magic World, RQ3 & RQ6 for ideas, but if there's no any huge issues with RQ2 as is, I'll probably wait to make any changes.
  2. So on Friday I have the next session of my Runequest 2nd edition game. So far, we've found the combat system surprisingly functional, but I've heard that once skill levels get high enough, things can get problematic. So what solutions does BRP offer me that I should consider if I'm either looking to preemptively deal with any issues that might arise or if I want to just make the game better? I like the 12 strike ranks and we've had no problem dealing with hit locations, so those are staying. What about adding in the dodge skill? The general combat matrix where people with high parry skills still need crits or specials to block crits or specials? The -30% for additional parries and dodges? It's entirely possible that my best bet will be to make no changes, but I figured there must be something to consider from the last 35 years that people have been playing BRP based games.
  3. It works on my ereader just fine. I imagine those with smaller screens like cell phones would have a problem though.
  4. I have an ereader that I use for PDFs and also find that two collumn traditional approaches work well for it. I end up having to go landscape to get the entire lines to fit and be of a good size when reading this document. If I had a smaller screen like a phone, I could see it being too small even then.
  5. They varied in size from small dog to crocodile sized. If I had to guess, 1d8+DB is representing an average one the size of a lion or tiger.
  6. Just wanted to say that I love the layout of the PDF. The large margins for a side bar, the font choice, pretty much everything about it. It's a nice change of pace from the usual two column approach commonly used for RPG material.
  7. Fantastic work. 1 page summaries are super useful.
  8. It's a misleading statement. They have fingers that can grip across one another like an X. Here's a picture from the cover of Wyrm's Footnotes 9 showing one holding a mace in their X-grip: EDIT: Found a better picture
  9. I'd probably summon a spirit to use as a POW source for the flesh construct. If any of it's old memories or whatever get in there too, I'm sure that'll all turn out fine.
  10. It's much better than in December, where for one day it got as cold as the surface of Mars. I think my favorite thing about BRP/RQ/CoC is that it doesn't try to be all fancy. I describe the situation, you describe what your character does, we use the system as needed and it all just works. EDIT: Re: your avatar: Ebih-Il always looks so happy
  11. Hopefully if they do end up including BRP stats, the product will sell well enough that it'll merit future BRP statted stuff from them. It would pretty much be a kiss of death for BRP statted stuff going forward if the poll came forward resoundingly BRP oriented but sales weren't there.
  12. Another new member. I've been playing RPGs since the 80s and my BRP experience includes Elfquest, Runequest (2nd & 3rd edition) and Call of Cthulhu. I've played a ton of other stuff ranging from every edition of D&D to dirty hippy indie games. As well as the popular 90s games like Shadowrun and White Wolf's World of Darkness games. I've gotten sick of most RPGs and now pretty much limit myself to running Runequest (2nd) and playing Call of Cthulhu. It's what I like.
