I gather that the Glowspot created by the Crimson Bat allows Lunar Magicians to cast magic as though the Red Moon were in it’s Full Phase, while the Glowline only allows them to cast magic as though it were in it’s Half Phase? I’m supposing here that the comment in the RuneQuest Bestiary “The Bat exerts a force which acts in all ways as the Lunar Glowline for Lunar magicians. All Lunar magicians within the Glowspot of the Bat act as if the Red Moon is Full” is a reflection of it’s description from RQ2/3.

Thanks, I’ve already got that one.

While equaling RQ publications is a clear impossibility, I think Glorantha is sufficiently deep and complicated to require at least a couple of supplements to properly cover. Though how to separate the supplements I don’t know.

That I must say is a big let down for me. I would really like to see this product.

I intend to start a campaign using the old Borderlands supplement but modifying and exapanding on it. Would any of the scenarios in Jonathon Webbs Sandheart series be adaptable to this? p.s. I’ll be using the Questworlds system, if that makes a difference.

This has always been the case.

Sorry to report that my HeroQuest game at Glorantha Con had only one person show up, and so wasn’t run. Only one person actually bothered to officially cancel out of the four who didn’t show. So no representation of QW/HQ at Chaosium Con this year.🙁

I just thought that I would arouse everyone’s jealousy by saying that I am at Chaosium Con and have purchased a copy.- 63 replies

The previous experience rules for barbarians and mercenaries were simpler and didn’t involve going into debt, which makes me wonder why the rules for apprentices were so different.

Note that the hardcover of RQ2 is actually cheaper than the softcover, due to it being in stock rather than pod.

What should I use: D20 vs D100, for my game?

Agreed. -

Another approach would be to subtract the number rolled (if successful) from the perception check. Or, to preserve the lower is better trend, the difference between the successful roll and the skill level. . -

Prince Valiant: any possibility of a reprint?

I regret to have to inform you that the reprint has already occurred a few years ago, and the game is again out of print. Here’s a link to a first edition copy (paperback with black-and-white art) for sale on eBay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/305278402694?_trkparms=amclksrc%3DITM%26aid%3D777008%26algo%3DPERSONAL.TOPIC%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20230811123856%26meid%3Dac320aff45584fcdb0f50aec71fd37d1%26pid%3D101770%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D1%26itm%3D305278402694%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D4375194%26algv%3DRecentlyViewedItemsV2&_trksid=p4375194.c101770.m146925&_trkparms=parentrq%3Ab257755918c0a8ce63713f02ffff69de|pageci%3A8be61dc8-a5c8-11ee-a4da-b69de52edb96|iid%3A1|vlpname%3Avlp_homepage -
I’ll soon be starting a game of Questworlds for Doctor Who, and I don’t think that powering up is appropriate for that setting. Would awarding extra Story Points be a viable alternative?
-
I agree with this part, but I believe that the minimum levels,, if used at all, should be set low enough so that a beginning character can meet them even for professional magician types. Questworlds is the kind of game where you should be able to create an Istari Wizard and a potato farmer at the outset without any trouble. Another approach might be to allow more breakout abilities for the full time magician types.
-
Are minimum scores even necessary?

Why are the trolls so dirty and slovenly?
Mark Mohrfield replied to Hellhound Havoc's topic in Glorantha
Trolls are not dirty and slovenly! It’s humans who are overly tidy and prissy. -
I am disappointed that the charts are not broken down by gender, which surely must play a major factor in which cult one belongs to.
