  1. The problem is that the people who know the most about it aren’t allowed to talk about it.
  2. RQ2. The impaling rules were standard, the slashing rules were optional and presented in the appendix.
  3. The Valley of Plenty update has now been released, for anyone unaware of the fact. https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/316797/Valley-of-Plenty?src=hottest_filtered
  4. A relatively easy way to implement this sort of thing in HeroQuest/Questworlds would be to use the rules for one-use magic that appear in HeroQuest 2.0 on page 112 and on Sartar: Kingdom of Heroes on page 92, if you have either of those books. You might want to make the resulting magic more than one-use, of course.
  5. How common is it there, and are there any traditions other than the Valkarist sect?
  6. Apparently there’s no official information, which makes me curious as to how it even got named in the Guide. Does anyone else besides David have a speculation as to what’s there?
  7. Just noticed this when paging through the Guide to Glorantha vol. 2. It’s situated just west of Teleos on the map on page 522, but there doesn’t seem to be any listing for it in the text. Is there any official information it, or did it somehow get overlooked?
  8. The Kingdom of War is composed of all the Dungeons and Dragons characters we played as adolescents resurrected into Glorantha, which perfectly explains their behavior.
  9. Anyone know of any? There don’t seem to be any on the schedule so far.
  10. There’s also the Quick-start book (available as free download Here). This is important because it contains the classic scenario “The Haunting.”
  11. Challenge Magazine no. 43 (available as a pdffrom Drivethru Link) has an interesting article for a Cthulhu/Space: 1889 mash-up.
  12. I posted this twice on the corrections thread, and it was taken down both times without any comment. Perhaps its more appropriate for this thread? From page 171. “Loaded Revolvers The chamber directly under a revolver's hammer is often left empty against an accidental discharge. If this practice is followed, lower the ammunition capacity by 1. To emphasize the danger of carrying a fully-loaded revolver, your gamemaster may require your character to make a successful Luck roll to avoid an accidental discharge if your character falls or is jostled roughly enough to potentially trigger the weapon. If the Luck roll succeeds, the revolver does not go off. If it fails, the revolver goes off, and your character and everyone around your character must make a Luck roll to avoid being hit by the stray bullet. Your gamemaster should determine who the friendly fire strikes. If the initial Luck roll is a fumble, the bullet strikes your character and does normal damage.” This should only apply to early revolvers, and those from about the late 19th century onwards should be safe with all chambers loaded.
  13. One minor complaint; I do wish that the Healing ability from Elfquest had been added to Psychic Abilities given Player Characters penchant for getting themselves harmed.
  14. Is there any news on this? There don’t seem to be games of it running at Chaosium Con.
  15. Not so sure about that. While not explicitly written for the Pulp Cthulhu rules, there are several pulpy elements in the campaign. Spoilers:
  16. Forty-two. I should have thought of that earlier.
  17. I suspect that the reason for this is economic reality, much as I personally regret it.
  18. I meant “as opposed to”. Sorry for the confusion.
  19. Just out of idle curiosity (I’m not running any games right now) are there any BRP supplements that use the Magic system from page 89 of the Big Gold Bookmas as opposed to the Sorcery system from page from page 122?
  20. Re all the replies pointing out Pathfinder; as per my edit I regard Pathfinder as being part of D&D for purposes of this discussion. The question is whether or not RQ can regain 2nd place relative to D&D +clones, not D&D alone. Sorry for the confusion.
  21. It means that of all the products on Drivethrurpg only 167 of them have made Adamantine level. Edit: Here is a breakdown of Drivethrurpg’s metal icons https://www.drivethrurpg.com/metal.php
  22. Of course that probably had something to do with the $ 0.99 .
  23. Given the general response to Wizards of the Coast's new OGL, is possible that RQ could regain its ancient status as the second most popular frpg? First place being too much to hope for, IMO. Edit: I should have mentioned that I include Pathfinder being part of D&D.
