  1. Right, assume that the thread said "Questworlds" instead, I guess.
  2. I think they mean more stuff than just "there are alien dreamlands", which is how older editions dealt with them. Also the new Dreamlands sounds VERY exciting! I must ask tho, how much of the original edition will stay? It sounds like there's going to be a big change in focus for this one, and IMHO that's a good thing. I hope the gazetteer sections get rewritten in particular. Because IMHO the short descriptions were too short and boring in that. Obviously full descriptions of cities and forests isn't in the cards, but there still needs to be something interesting for the gm to leech off of for future game ideas. Most of the gazetteer descriptions weren't that, they were usually stuff like "the forest is haunted" or "it's a small city" without giving much reason as to why you should even set adventures in those areas and not just stay in more explored areas such as Uthar or The Moon. It should really be written as if it's an "plot hooks" chapter that just happens to be organized in the layout of an atlas. Regardless, looking forward to it!
  3. Asking because as far as I can tell, there hasn't been any news about this lately, with most of the focus going towards the Runequest side of things. Is this still an book in progress, or is it on hold while other projects take priority at the moment?
  4. this is referring to the pdf, right? Which pages are the maps? I mean the detailed one, the one that Atgxtg posted an preview of above with all of the location names.
  5. I have an print copy of BTW, and the book mentions the existence of a map (beyond the non-detailed ones, meant really only for pointing out tribal territory and not actual locations of areas), yet it seems when I bought my copy of the book all those years ago (I believe off of Noble Knights?), either the seller forgot to include the map or I misplaced it! Does the PDF version contain the fully detailed map by any chance? Or am I outta luck? I am planning on running an pict related adventure soon, so fast answers would be preferable!
  6. Sorry for the necro, but where, exactly, did you find a copy of this? Ebay?
  7. Then Glorantha's people should be freed of emperors all together.
  8. ...I thought they meant "raging warriors."
  9. The fact that horrid ideologies and beliefs such as chaos led slavery and the dwarfs being a-okay with causally murdering millions of people for one tower, are just as cosmically valid as the ones that preach the virtues of mercy and justice, and are actually often MORE popular than the options that are far more merciful and wise.
  10. Both of these are actually great theories tho...in particular I feel the Gold Wheel dancer one has merit in canon considering other deities bi-genderness. I think it would also be a good twist to mess with players who are Yelm lovers. The uber-macho cult actually worships an giant wheel that doesn't really have any gender. Imagine player reactions. Amazing.
  11. The troll's natural prey are Dwarfs and Elfs and bugs, not humans, and even then, the animals humans eat are usually not sentient creatures like what the trolls eat. And even if the trolls are innocent of wrong doing, we were judging Argrath's actions in the posts you reply to, not the trolls. Argrath openly choose to have unarmed citizens be eaten by the trolls with no remorse. If an human intentionally let loose an pack of bears onto you with the intend of murdering you, would you consider him "innocent", because it's natural for bears to eat humans? I don't think so. Regarding Sheng: we're judging Sheng by the qualities of his personality, not if he is the embodiment of the sun or not, and as it happens, Sheng is an total asshole who gladly murders and rapes innocent people. Plus, didn't Sheng FORCE his way into becoming the sun? I don't care if Sheng is the "rightful" ruler of the sun or whatever. His actions cause nothing but pain and suffering for the innocent that even the generally totalitarian sun wants to avoid. If the world REALLY needs an sun emperor to be around, then get another person to be that emperor. Don't rise the guy who murders innocents from the grave.
  12. This but without Argrath and with "the PCs" instead...unless they decide to kill Orlanth... I, um, don't see how allowing trolls to EAT INNOCENT PEOPLE is "honorable" or "returning balance". And frankly it seems like the "order" that Argrath is "returning" to the world is the "cutting people's heads off if they are sexually attracted to people of the same gender" sorta order that was the reason why Orlanth and his daddy and Ernalda decided to rebel in the first place.
  13. The only thing i'm getting from this is that if there is no way Sedenya and Orlanth can accept peace, then the only option is practically the total culture genocide of either the Lunars or the Orlanthi. That's pretty fucked up. And apparently that is canon according to Greg. People say WH40k is dark? It's got nothing on Old 'G. (And also Glorantha is just better written in general imo.) In my Glorantha they can make peace with each other, even if one of them has to change massively to do so. (Probably Sedenya.) But that doesn't seem to be in Greg's canon. I like Eff's post, even tho I'd prefer Sedenya to be one who you can reason with. I hope it doesn't make me appear to be mentally idiotic for preferring it over canon. IMHO Everyone's Glorantha Should Vary.
  14. lmao i thought i was posting in the "upcoming supplements" thread. Woops. And TY for da links, G33K!
  15. While I am excited for it, I sorta count Nochet under the "Orlanthi" department since they're followers of Ernalda, and still worship Orlanth...as an dude who is just Ernalda's dumb husband. Where on the net are you getting these teases from? The OP should really be updated to include that sort of stuff.
  16. A manuscript doesn't equal an finished product. For all we know it could be only half done. And not to mention these are gaming products. They always need to be play tested to judge if they'll actually work in the system. And they currently want to focus on the areas that are closer to Sartar first (I.E. Esrolia) so there's an logical reason why the players would go there in a pre-existing campaign, as supposed to being only really useful to people wanting to start an entirely new campaign. ...But I do have to agree with you that waiting for the non-orlanthi/praxian areas to finally be fleshed out is going to be a fucking pain. May the new Sartar book's production cycle be speedy in comparison. May we not wait anymore than a year for it.
  17. From jeff's recent live stream: -First off, he showed interest in getting the Lunar book ready sooner than later, but still probably not for a while, and mentioned that the upcoming god's book will contain a lot of info on the Lunar Way. -There's a Kralorela manuscript that's really good but won't be published until the Nochet and Lunar books are published, because there's no reason why player characters in Dragon Pass would want to go there atm (He didn't say if there would be rules for playing as natives of those areas, but I assume it'll be the case as well). -Mentioned the possibility of an West book, but as with above, preferably not till after a Lunar book is published. -Because of the above, he wants to get the Nochet book released by/in 2021 because it opens up the setting as it's a sea port. (And speculation on my part, but I think it helps that there's been progress made on that already.) -New Sartar book, judging from jeff's words, it seems to be to RQ what it's HQ counterpart was to it's game. (Also talked about it on his Q&A thread, that'll it'll be MUCH bigger than the last one and A LOT more detailed.) -Red Strings Of Fate kickstarter is still going to be a thing (??? I didn't know about it?) -Talked about Kallyr's Lightbringer quest on the livestream and it being a major part of the upcoming campaign book the PC's can be a part of by helping...or trying to stop. -There's a Barbarian Town book that is on hiatus on the moment because shit went down in the author's life : ( -There is a White Bull campaign that will be ran soon for the Cult Of Chaos.
  18. You might've already picked it up, since you only mention mythology and not the world of Glorantha in general, BUT since you mention the Guide (which is notable in that it intentionally focuses LESS on the mythology compared to the Sourcebook), I feel it's worth mentioning again that the book "Sartar: Kingdom of Heroes" is IMHO the best introduction to the setting to date, at least for covering one of the biggest cultures in Glorantha in down-to-earth detail. That and "Heroquest Voices" for a more "personal" prospective of the world, but note it's been retconned...a lot.
  19. (Note: I've not watched the entire stream through yet, so I apologize if most of these are already answered.) How many pages will da new Sartar book be? What non-Orlanthi culture do you think will be the first to get an supplement of their own? Can you give us an idea of what the new Heroquesting rules will play like? Do you think there'll be any "Masks Of Nyarlathotep" style multi-continent campaigns in the near or far future? Just exactly how many years in advance do you think your current pipeline of published books extends out to? Do you ever get breaks?
  20. As evidenced by the history of Glorantha, new groups and institutions are found many times. And as we can see, most cults generally have myths to strengthen their actions to the gods. Discounting examples of heroquests rewriting reality, is it possible for an new cult to form around an rarely covered aspect of pre-existing deity, without needing an previously existing myth based around that aspect, or does it always need an myth to actually exist? Theoretical example: Lets say that an group of Chalana Arroy worshipers decided to start an group decided to helping the children of those who's parents were killed in war. Lets say they establish the group as an cult. Lets say that there aren't any known myths about Chalana Arroy protecting and rising orphans caused by war. Would they... A. ...Be a cult, but one unable to get anywhere because they wouldn't have any unique mythical powers to aid their goals? B. ...Not be a proper cult, and more just an general faction that merely has a shitton of Chalana Arroy worshipers? C. Would conveniently end up finding an myth that just HAPPENED to fit their goals despite not knowing about it beforehand anyways, because either... -C1. ...It actually did exist all along? -C2. ...Reality somehow bent itself to allow the myth to come to be? If any of the options but C2 is true, does that mean there's technically an inherently limited amount of "myths" that exist without heroquesting to create new ones, despite God's Time's subjective nature? If so, doesn't that count as an chicken and the egg situation where it's unclear on exactly "where" those limited number of events originated from without people actively messing around with God Time? And if C2 is true, what's the difference between that and rewriting pre-existing myths with the aid of Heroquesting? Do new versions only come when the needed myth is an "natural" evolution of another myth instead of an massively drastic change caused by 'questing nonsense? But if there is one thing I know...it's that YGWV.
  21. Somehow i never noticed the account settings screen until this. TY!
  22. Asking because I'm embarrassed by the obvious misspelling I made years ago. (I typed godess instead of goddess.)
