... The investigators were suddenly arrested for a most heinous crime!
They had smuggled Kinder Surprise Chocolate egg in the country! This shall not be tolerated! ^_^

How to shock and horror your players, hahaha....

Sorry, just watched a video on how kinder surprise are illegal in America and thought such antic would be a fun and infuriating way for a corrupt cop to imprison investigators! 😛

planting contraband eggs in the unsuspecting players' luggage?  <heh>

There could be a fair amount of weird contraband rules...

A family friend of ours (travelling by train) was detained at the border of <unnamed nation> for "pornography" (it was a normal newsstand fashion mag, such as Vogue or Elle, that they used to pass the time as they travelled).

chewing gum was illegal to import, sell or chew in Singapore from 1992-2003 with Statute Chapter 57, the Control of Manufacture Act (you can now import therapeutic gums), and I had some and was chewing it when I entered customs, having come from Aceh Province, Indonesia by plane and been smoking and thus had foul breath.

for some reason Singapore's notoriously ferocious bureaucrats were having a good day and simply warned me to dispose of my gum instead of detaining me and refusing me entry. my luck was really good. I think they figured any white person coming from Aceh wasn't a jackass, because there are no white people in Aceh.

The ban came about, from what I've heard, was that Singapore unveiled a spanking new train and somebody managed to put it out of action with used chewing gum.

the ban came about because lee kwan yew believed that authoritarianism masquerading as neo-confucianism can enact a "hygienic moral society", and this is one of a thousand ways the dictator enacted his protocol

yes, gum did cause some door sensors on trams to not close, but the "solution" is approximately like shooting your neighbor's son because he put a banana in your mailbox on halloween as a prank

it's like how new york's subway system is completely a shambles, and therefore there's a lot of fare evasion because the gates are broken and nobody's train ever comes, so the mayor decided to ... drop US $249,000,000 to hire 2500 new nyc police officers to police the subway entrances to make sure people are paying fares (New Yorkers are not responding well to this and are now destroying all the fare machines and locking the doors open.)
