tooley1chris
Is there a written precedent for a character attracting followers? I did a search through the Gold Book PDF and da nada... I want to build a charisma based character who attracts a loyal following. Is this gonna be a house rule things? Dreadnought
MRQII Empires has a chapter on renown, that may be what you're after Quote Currently running... Blood & Oil... The Wastes of Mad Max in BRP on Roll20
Baragei
You can have sidekicks, but that was perhaps not what you were looking for. There are no rules for followers(that I'm aware of). I'm wondering, though..what attracts these followers? Pure charismatic force? Social standing? The promise of treasure or some secret technique? Weekly paycheck? tooley1chris
Eh, that seems to do mostly with how well the characters deeds (or misdeeds) are known by the population of a kingdom. It doesnt relate directly to gaining henchmen or followers... I think what would attract followes is a bit of each of those. A characters name becomes well known and others, with the same ideals, flock to his or her banner, hoping to ride the coat tails to greatness. Baragei
Allegiance and Status could be used to gauge fame(and infamy), determine what kind of people that would be drawn to them, and act as modifiers to any moral and influence-checks
tooley1chris
Hard to believe such a dangerous game doesn't have built in options for henchman /followers. In Chess the pawns move first! Lol! I'm working in rules for this in Classic Fantasy 2nd edition because I think it fits the subject matter. However to be honest I personally don't use them outside of D&D style games. Well you have to go waaayyy back but old Glorantha-based RQ used to deal with followers somewhat. Basically Rune Level (think highly experienced with high standing in a church) characters were so important that they would have a retinue.
