Something actually of the Victorian period you have classical composers Debussy, Liszt, Wagner, Chopin, Grieg, Glinka, Rimsky-Korsakov, Mussorgski, Borodin. Also the musicals of Gilbert and Sullivan. Steampunk themed music can be pretty varied, some sound tracks have been listed, but steam punk is popular at the moment, so there are some more modern film soundtracks as well. The two Robert Downey J Sherlock Holmes movies definitely had a steam punk vibe, the Tim Burton / Johnny Depp Sweeney Todd is sort of Steam Punky. League of Extraordinary Gentlemen is another possibility. Plenty of bands identify as being in the steam punk genre, in addition to those above you can add Professor Elemental, Steam Powered Giraffe, The Gaslight Troubadours, and Poplock Holmes. Related you also have Chap Hop, which includes Mr B the Gentleman Rhymer as well as the above Professor Elemental and Poplock Holmes who fit into both categories. Electroswing can also fit in being based on the swing era music so crossing between steam and diesel punk time wise, Swingrowers, Alice Francis, Parov Stelar, Caravan Palace, Gravity Falls. and of course anything that plays up the dystopian -punk themes which opens up your classic punk genres, The Clash, Sex Pistols, The Kinks, Flogging Molly, Drop Kick Murphys, Rage Against the Machine. Industrial metal is basically just punk with bigger amps Pitchshifter, Static X, Union Underground, Nine Inch Nails which then brings us back around to Soundtracks like The Matrix. -punk genres tend to be pretty anachronistic as it is, so mixing Chopin, The Clash and a track from Disney's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea isn't as wacky as it may at first seem.
