good old times

Wish you nice day,

I just remember the old time, when I crawl dungeons, kill monsters and collected money. Good old times :-D.

And then, after returning to civilization crawling continued = SHOPPING for magic potion, equipment, scrolls.

Now, I have big problem. Not with crating a dungeons, but spending money, gold, gems.

I have Magical World rules, BRP, Advanced Sorcery, Enlightened Magic, The Magic Book. Plenty of material, but no rules for spending money, no rules for buying special equipment.

Have you any idea to create some universal rules for pricing or valuating magical equipment?

Thanks.

Now, in a sword and sorcery campaign that wouldn't be an issue.  Your doughty adventurers would blow the whole wad in a week or so on wine, women and song -- requiring them to go a-roving again to remain solvent.  If they insist on being thrifty and responsible, one potential rate of currency and shopping list is available in the RuneQuest Deluxe SRD, downloadable from this website, around Page 19 or so.

This is a pretty good idea. If Nothing else to have a common value when attempting to sell such an item. Just went through MW,CF, and Adv. Sorc. and saw Nothing about the costs of having a spell caster cast a spell for you...Maybe I'm missing something because I'd have sworn I saw a cost for a heal spell in a temple somewhere...

If the big boys at CHAOSIUM don't have anything in the works for this, perhaps I'll whip up such a book detailing costs for certain properties and items. I was thinking about doing a more advanced alchemy book anyway, so this sorta ties in.

Basic Gamemaster contains rules for hiring spellcasters to cast a spell on your behalf.   A single source for relative prices would be handy, though . . . I have a player who wanted his PC to craft his own high-quality musket, and had to ab-lib on the cost of materials.

If everybody in the world thought and acted like i do, then who would be the players in my Basic Role Playing game?

The upcoming Chronicler's Companion has rules for hiring spell casters. Actually, about half the book is drawn from the aforementioned "Basic Gamemaster" book (aka, the RQIII Gamemaster's Book).

Guidelines for buying magical junk would just need to be extrapolated from that. For example, figure out the total MP/POW spent to make a magical sword as if it was a demon weapon (ala Advanced Sorcery), then look that up on the table in CC/BG, and you're set.

I tend to ask for Wealth rolls using Status %, so as long as something is listed in those terms I'm fine, but it does make me long for the days of dungeon crawling and item shopping again...

Can you please make one (or few) concrete example?

Is it out yet?

BTW: I've asked Nick Nacario from Chaosium to come over to the forum and talk about the current status of MW projects. He's been doing the layout/production work on the MW line, so has a much better idea of what's going on than I do.

Keep an eye out for status reports from "ChaosiumNick" (I think that's his userid here...)
