  1. Our friends Pegasus Spiel - publishers of the German translation of Call of Cthulhu - have produced a magnificent designer carry bag for their new edition, embossed with an Elder Sign. It's hand made in Germany, genuine leather and very slick (Pegasus showed off a display version of the bag to us at Essen last year and we were highly impressed to the point of extreme jealousy...) The carry bag is available now, both with the German CoC7e books included and on its own, via the Pegasus Spiel web store - With books: https://www.pegasusshop.de/?thisoperationid=3&Action-Display-Detailansicht=40028G Bag only: https://www.pegasusshop.de/?thisoperationid=3&Action-Display-Detailansicht=40027G Elder sign leather wallets, by same designer (available in two colors): https://www.pegasusshop.de/?thisoperationid=3&Action-Display-Detailansicht=CTHULHU01 https://www.pegasusshop.de/?thisoperationid=3&Action-Display-Detailansicht=CTHULHU02

    RQ Design Notes #6

Yes, that is one of the areas we're addressing: characteristic bonuses are calculated in a similar way to RQ3. Jongjom: sorcery is in the new rules. We don't count it as something broken from RQ2 because, as you say, it wasn't featured there, but it certainly was broken in RQ3 or to use Sandy Petersen's quaint phrase, it "sucked toads".
  3. Here Jeff answers a key question that we get quite often -"are you using the [pick a rule] from RQ [pick an edition]?" http://www.chaosium.com/blog/designing-the-new-runequest-part-6
  4. Fortunately, now that backers are getting their rewards at last, the Kickstarter story ends well - although Greg, Sandy, Rick & the rest of us in the team know there's still a lot of work to do and appreciate the support and encouragement shown by Chaosium fans all over the world: http://geekandsundry.com/cthulhu-company-kickstarted-itself-to-death-then-this-happened
  5. Some Q&A with Mike Mason about how things are going with the organized play campaign A Time to Harvest... http://www.chaosium.com/blog/talking-to-mike-mason-about-a-time-to-harvest
  6. Good news for Canadian Kickstarter backers too - Lion Rampant, our fulfillment partner in Canada has started sending out their consignment to backers too. That means ALL FOUR warehouse locations are hard at work getting the shipments sent out to backers, and some backers have indeed already received their rewards package:
  7. More good news about delivery of Kickstarter rewards for Call of Cthulhu 7e! The UK warehouse (Kixto) has the books, has entered them in inventory, and is starting sending them out to backers in UK and Europe from today! This means deliveries for the UK, Australia and USA have all now commenced (sorry, no further news for those over the border in Canada)
  8. Great video: shared on Chaosium FB and G+ (sorry I missed this when it came out)

I don't what the copyright status of material in Different Worlds is, but that is precisely the reason why reprinting Tales of the Reaching Moon is unlikely: the editorial policy of Tales was that copyright of all the material published in the magazine (artwork & articles) is retained by the original authors.

  15. The new edition of RQ coming out later this year is backwards compatible with R2/Classic, but it is a new edition with new rules. In particular, a lot more emphasis on the Glorantha runes. Check out Jeff's Designer Notes for more about what's going to be in it.

  23. Munchkin is the success it is because there is just so much silly stuff to parody in AD&D. Ducks seem far more believable than Rust Monsters or Gelatinous Cubes.
  24. Later this week via Backerkit we'll be sending out emails enabling all backers to review their backer level and rewards and, most importantly, make sure we have their current addresses. After that we'll be ready to send the stuff, once they have cleared customs and arrived at our distribution centres (nb UK ship still on the way...) Once backers have had a chance to update their details we'll be opening things up to take preorders too - these will be sent out after backers are sent theirs.
