  1. And what's this I read on the Mongoose boards in a thread from 2012 about some of the Legend material getting an update?
  2. This is clearly out of your hands. I don't mind the wait, but the occasional update is much appreciated.
  3. I was wondering how intercompatible Legend and Renaissance (or OpenQuest) are; how easy would it be to use supplements for Legends in a game that's run using Renaissance? I was thinking of maybe picking up Pirates of Legend and the two Monsters of Legends books for this purpose.
  4. Still having trouble with the print proofs?
  5. It looks like they're making available in POD anything that's (about to go) OOP. Very nice move!
  6. Pulp Cthulhu was one of the stretch goals in the Kickstarter for CoC 7E. All backers receiving printed Keeper's Rulebooks will receive a pdf of Pulp Cthulhu, backers receiving leatherette Keeper's Rulebooks will receive a print version. AFAIK it is currently being re-worked for 7E.
  7. Turning off the energy-saving thingy makes no difference whatsoever. As far as I have been able to find out ezPDF Reader Pro is not free. I'm cheap when it comes to anything but RPGs so I'd like to use a free pdf reading app if possible. Anyone have any suggestions? Yeah, I noticed that too...
  8. Usually it works fine, but I've had the same problem with one other pdf, the Hollow Earth Expedition core book. Something about these two pdf-files apparently makes them particularly "heavy" to process. I've tried Aldiko with Hollow Earth Expedition, but that was only a very minor improvement. Sill I'll give it another go. Any other apps you'd suggest using? Would switching off the energy-saving option on my tablet help?
  9. I'm having some trouble reading the pdf on my tablet. It works but loading times are terribly long. Could this have to do with my hardware and/or software? Any advice to improve this would be welcome. I currently use the most recent version of Adobe Reader and my tablet is a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1).
  10. Yeah, but that's already been done (and failed eventually). A tatooed monkey, especially if it's an indigenous species to the Dragon Isles, is going to be a hell of a lot more difficult to track, though.
  11. When I get this game to the table I'll base a whole scenario around a particularly mischievous specimen that had a notorious pirate shave it and tatoo a treasure map on its back, after which it escaped and got lost...
  12. It's looking great. I was very pleased to see the monkey entry . You even added the option of importing Old World monkeys and apes to the Dragon Isles. Now that's versatility!
  13. I'm basically in the OpenQuest "camp" but I've been hearing stuff about Magic World that I'd love to integrate into OpenQuest, for example some of the sorcery and the large number of player races. Ditto for the Advanced Sorcery book. Will things like these be easy to port over? I'm not much of a systems tinkerer so the process has to be pretty straight-forward to be of use.
  14. How compatible would you say d00Lite is with stuff like OQ, Magic World/BRP?
  15. Hm, as much as I am convinced RQ6 is a solid system, it's really way too rules-heavy for me and from what I read not completely effortlessly compatible with OpenQuest/Renaissance. Hopefully there will be conversion notes for OQ available somewhere...
  16. I'd like for wild west maps and floorplans to be a bit more diverse with stuff based in actual history also more easily accessible. The couple of decent to good western games that are currently in print (or available as pdf) don't have much content in them that consists of maps or floorplans. I've never actually payed for map and floorplan RPG material before. 0one's products look solid, though. Makes me wonder how useful their other stuff would be. How's their pirate- or pulp-themed stuff, for example?
  17. This is good news. For some reason Wild West themed floorplans and maps are rather hard to find. Maybe the genre is too niche.
  18. necro'd Is there any news on where Chronicles of Future Earth is headed? There's something on the Facebook page about a new edition that will be using the Legend or RuneQuest VI rules... I'd prefer something a bit lighter, like D101Games' OpenQuest or even DwD Studios' D00lite, to be honest, but a completely new, extended core book sounds good.
  19. That's the Mexican War of Independence. If it says "Mexican Revolution" there is really no mistaking what it refers to.
  20. And it did make for a great game that I believe got quite a bit of critical acclaim as well. If you ever do a Mexican Revolution game I'd even be willing to help out financially, obviously only as much as I can afford. For general Kickstarter appeal you could throw in some optional Cthulhu Mythos among the more folkloric supernatural stuff, so the book could also serve as a historical sourcebook for Cthulhu fans.
  21. Well, not being British, I think the clockwork English civil war is pretty niche, perhaps more so than the Mexican Revolution. I think the somewhat romanticized adventurous flavour of the period would lend itself well for an RPG adaptation. Perhaps taking the more cinematic approach of Pirates & Dragons would be fitting. It's goods to know we share some weak spots and I'll try to appeal to them more often so expect some not quite subliminal messages.
  22. Obviously the series of uprisings and conflicts commonly referred to as The Mexican Revolution, 1910-20, sometimes referred to as the Mexican Civil War. Which other conflicts have you seen referred to as a revolution in Mexico?
  23. If we can steer away from strictly black powder era, a Mexican Revolution setting would be "teh awesome". A close second would be the Mexican War of Independance, which is somewhat closer to the default period for Renaissance. AFAIK none of these has been done before very often. I'm somewhat of a Mexicophile, can you tell? Mexico had/has got some nice folk beliefs going to add a touch of magic and/or horror.
