  1. Found ! thank you ! yes, that's true. Don't mix martial sport with real fight. In a sport you want to win with getting points, in a real fight, you want to stay alive et kill the guy.

  3. i can't find the rules page 17 in RQ2 in RQ3, there is a rule about that but its only when the attack can be close contact to the defender. i'm wondering if i can manage "2 weapons 2 attacks in this way : each attack at SR like if there is only 1 weapon, means spear SR6 strike SR6 and sword SR7 strike SR7 not SR9 or 11. what do you think guys?
  4. Combat special effects are the only simples rules on RQ6, animism, theism etc are awful. And Actions system is really hard to manage, i used it but i really prefer the RQ2/RQ3 one. I gonna not say "simplier" but yes more realistic and manageable, yes.

  6. Don't forget, a fight "Humakt Rune lord" vs "Farmer newbie" is not just about score in attack, dodge take part in the fight too ! Rune Lord with a flail, start at 40% attack but get his dodge at 95%. Farmer with same flail start at 40% too but get only 25% in dodge. So, Rune Lord will win the fight. No need complicated rules for that. And its getting better for Rune Lord with the new runequest, because, he can use his Death Rune to get +20% to his attack.
  7. I can imagine a character learn from his errors so fumble get check, but 2 or 3 checks, thats too much for me. But if it works for you, its ok, don't change.
  8. In each colymar campaign i made as GM, playing a hunter is the best choice to have a "thieving-like" character with good reasons to be in an orlanthi group.
  9. I checked in the book, its page 67 in french edition, you are right. Same in RQ2 with +5 SR. RQ3 are writing for a archer who take his arrow one by one from his quiver. You are right about this. But how many arrow can you get in your hand without effect on yours shots? In videos, i see archers firing to very close target. So you can imagine to give a -5% for each arrow in hand, for example. And what about range? If you shot really quick, you can't draw your bow enought to shot long distance. yes reality wins, but in a game, we need to have simple rules (for my opinion). Thats why i prefer RQ2/RQ3 to others ones like RQ6 or RQawful. But really thank you, MJ Sadique, i just rode rules about fishnet in "Le Maitre des Runes", thats will be helpfull because my first scenario will be at badside in Pavis.

  12. Ok, thanks, my issue is with a character using 1h spear and 1h sword. The 2 weapons are ready. I didn't know about these dabate, so i gonna make some pop corns too. i prefer mine with caramel. You are right. But a long weapons can been used twice if the fighter is very good. see this : The issue is for a fighter with 2 weapons, like the hobbit is your example.

  14. Sex and marriage are not the same. You can have sex with someone without marry him/her. KoS and others books talks about marriage in the same clan, that is forbidden, but what about sex? If i remember well, in apple lane, there is Uleria temple, and girls have sex with guys (and perhaps girls) from the same clan.
  15. For me, i really prefer the check system. I played CoC, RQ and others games using BRP system and the check system fit better with BRP than system with Heroe points. I m not sure the GM have to be afraif of check hunting. You have the players you deserve, if yours only want to increase theirs skills, change them.
  16. With the new RuneQuest, the Rune Lord of Humakt can easily beat a newbie. The Rune Lord can use his death Rune to increase his martial hability. He can use his magic like bladesharp. But don't forget the gift/geases. Usualy a Rune Lord take gift like "+5% fighting with sword" several times and get geases "can't use mace" or "can't use maul" etc.
  17. Thank you So, in RQ2, if a fighter get SR6 and SR7, he can't strike in the same round because first strike will be at SR 6 and second one at SR 13 (above SR 12) But in RQ3, he can strike at SR6 then at SR 9 (6 + 3). What rules do you prefer guys? Which one is better?
  18. I m agree with SDLeary and Iskallor. Too complicated for me these root skills system. I can imagine a master at One hand sword start his 2 handed sword at better level than a newbie but no need to make complicated rules, just give a +10% bonus or something like that.

Hi In RQ2, the rules are : "when attacking with 2 weapons, the second attack is made at a strike rank equal to the strike rank of the first attack added to the usual strike rank for the second weapon. thus, if the character has a strike rank of 5 for the first weapon and a strike rank of 6 for the second, the second attack will come as strike rank 11." In RQ3, i didn't find any rules about that... So my question is : why you have to add the full SR to the second attack with the second weapon and +5 SR to the second attack when you attack twice with the same weapon?
