mikuel
There is no cult 1 pager for Hearth Mother. Could someone recommend one that would be the closest? I'm working on a Balazar campaign for Mythras.
David Scott
If you ask over in the Praxian Tradition thread I'll post some of the relevant info, similar to the foundchild cult. lawrence.whitaker
I wrote one for both Hearth Mother and Foundchild in 'Cults of Glorantha' for MRQII - although they're obviously not canonical and may be difficult to find. They would certainly be compatible with Mythras though. 1 Quote The Design Mechanism: Publishers of Mythras
David Scott
@lawrence.whitaker, they may not be canonical, but parts can be made canonical if useful. I did borrow some of your stuff from Pavis... 1 Quote ----- Search the Glorantha Resource Site: https://wellofdaliath.chaosium.com. hkokko
Any thoughts what would be the holy and high holy days. Crawling the net I find place mentioning only Sacred Time rites. I think this is a bit broad for a relatively minor deity. Is there a specific day at Sacred time... Next version of one pagers will contain a first cut at one pager for Hearth Mother Edited May 26, 2017 by hkokko Quote My Glorantha/Mythras blog with Glorantha Cult One-pagers and Mythras Encounter Tool updates and Mythras GM Charts
David Scott
The sacred time rites are the high holy days - the Great Hunt, as per Griffin Mountain. As with all spirit cults, holy days are at the whim of the shaman in charge. Quote ----- Search the Glorantha Resource Site: https://wellofdaliath.chaosium.com. soltakss
Wasn't Hearth Mother in Griffin Mountain? I seem to remember Griffin Island had a proper cult writeup, with cultists gaining magic in Sacred Time ceremonies. David Scott
Looking over @lawrence.whitaker's cults, Foundchild and Helpwoman are little different from the RQ2 version in Griffin Mountain. I'd use the GM version as they have more detail. For the slightly confused, Helpwoman is the Praxian version, Hearth-Mother the Balazaring version of the same spirit. The major difference is that Balazarings use dogs to hunt, while the Praxians don't. Praxian Brother Dog originates from Waha who's brother was turned into a dog, Balazaring Brother Dog is a subcult of Foundchild, as Dog approached Foundchild in the Great Darkness - Quote and said he'd prefer to be a friend than food. The two became brothers and have served each other ever since. Quote ----- Search the Glorantha Resource Site: https://wellofdaliath.chaosium.com. hkokko
First version is now at the one pagers page. I think some of the spells were a bit too combat oriented for the cult for example Bladesharp does not fit well for the cult - I replaced that with Spirit Shield. Added spells of Calm and Deflect as perhaps more appropriate. David Scott
I would disagree with removing Bladesharp. Hearth-mother survived the Great Darkness with her sharp knife and her ability to make a meal out of nothing. Her knife is her main tool.
