  1. I was just wondering if anyone is going to do something like GURPS martial arts supplement for BRP?
  2. Yeah, after I posted I realized you were probably talking about something that was a bit different. It does look like a very interesting system you found. I was actually wondering if there was something out there like you are describing. It's nice to know that stats can have more clout that they are generally afforded.
  3. Actually, stat+skill systems aren't rare. Here's one that comes to mind: DriveThruRPG.com - Precis Intermedia - HardNova 2 RPG (PDF Collection) I think this is also one, too, unless I'm thinking of some other system: DriveThruRPG.com - BTRC - CORPS TimeLords v1.0
  4. DriveThruRPG.com - Postmortem Studios - Bloodsucker: The Angst
  5. I bought the download from Lulu.com. I think I made a post on Friday about what I thought of the product description, or something. It's no longer posted (I swore I hit the submit button) and I'm very thankful for that--as I wrote it under the influence of alcohol. Anyway, I think it's worth a shot for you to propose it to Chaosium. You obviously did a ton of research for the game and made a high quality product (in my opinion--whatever it's worth). You have a lot of interesting ideas for the game and I thinks it's a neat idea that all the characters live, work, etc. behind the Iron Curtain. My only concern would be how Chaosium would react to the game system. You're essentially reinventing the wheel using creatures and a system that's extremely reminiscent of CoC. The only thing they would probably be interested in is the setting.
  6. I found this at RPG.net: Hitmans-Target.com I didn't sign up for it, but a rpg centered around hitmen and how they live seems like a very interesting idea.
  7. Wow, I stand very corrected. But I'll bet none of them got sold through a video game store. Which is where the younguns would buy them.
  8. Cool. I just might have to get that supplement.
  9. So I stand corrected on the "first ever" video game adaptation to p&p rpgs. But were those rpgs any good?
  10. Maybe you can email Chaosium, too:)
  11. Thank you. I just might contact them very soon.
  12. I honestly think the best way to get the younguns is to do the first ever video game/p&p rpg tie-in. Then sell it at video game stores as a sourcebook/stand-alone p&p rpg game. It'll be just like what game companies already do for movie and television series. If you could get a video game franchise sourcebook, plus BRP rules, plus something like the Mythic Game Master Emulator Mythic Game Master Emulator all in one package, that would get tons of new, younger people to play the games. However, I realize licensing might prove very difficult. Or you could invade the fan fiction sites and post scenarios with stats and basic rules for play.
  13. I'm guilty of everything except the dice part:o:D
  14. Oh. Oh well. Hopefully someone does a good space-faring BRP product in the near future.. Btw, do the people at Chaosium read this forum much? I hope I'm not being too forward?:innocent:
  15. That goes a long way in making my day:party:
  16. Any chance that Chaosium would contact the authors? Seriously, I'm extremely pleased with this purchase and would love to see this go back into print (revised, of course). I was actually worried that I would have to create an entire universe if I chose to do a space opera using BRP. That X,Y,Z grid really blew my mind. It's so simple, but since I suck at math, I would never have thought of it. And it always pissed me off that all the systems I've encountered never came up with a good way to calculate interstellar travel times (or, if they did, they just wrote it so sloppily or dense that I couldn't understand or cared what they were saying). I really hope that Chaosium does do some stuff with space opera that deals with characters planet hopping--with a good system of determining distance and travel time.
  17. I just got the last copy of Worlds Beyond in the mail yesterday. I really wish that Chaosium had made this into a pdf, as there seem to be some really good ideas in there. Plus it's a great basis for any space opera that I would ever do. I'm wondering if any of the cool rules are going make it into any supplements for BRP 1st edition (if they haven't already in the core rule book). Two things that really stand out for me are: Star Mapping and the World Building sections. The star mapping uses an X,Y,Z coordinate grid and helps determine how far apart planets are in 3D space, which helps the gamers to calculate the time it takes to get somewhere in space. The example in the book wasn't very good, but I think anyone can figure out what the authors were getting at. The world building isn't too dissimilar from other rpgs I've read, but it's pretty comprehensive (I think it reminds me of Traveler: New Era). But I'm hoping to see them in some new rule books. Also, the starship creation rules look really good, too.
  18. GURPS has a Star Trek game called Prime Directive. I think it was in this thread that someone was asking about a Star Trek port or something. Just passing it on. GURPS Prime Directive
  19. CoC supplements aren't cool to read on the bus? Who knew?
  20. My budget doesn't allow me to get the Zero edition, but I will certainly be buying the 1st edition. By the way, how many Zero editions were printed?
  21. Try Blackcoat Press. There's a forum on their site you can ask about this title if they don't already have it translated. Black Coat Press
  22. Thanks. I just ordered Cthulhu Rising because I couldn't pass up the sale.
