  1. I think it cannot be dogmatically forbidden in all instances, but things involving Chaos may be forbidden. Usually no Lunar would ever think of embracing Chaos as such, they usually follow the Lunar way, not a path of corruption and destruction.
  2. From that point of view, I agree it would be oathbreaking. And to stay with the Einherjar is certainly great but they may be bound by stronger duties. Now, this is just an example of what the Death god may instill into his worshippers, although he is still bound by the Great Compromise. They have not been put to the sword, neither physically nor spiritually, when they enter the Underworld.
  3. Humakt is the god of Death, even if you fall off from a cliff. Dead Humakti cannot come back from the dead. I believe they have given themselves to Humakt. But if they go into the Underworld by themselves, don't they bypass the Death god?
  4. It's one of the powers of a Buddha.
  5. IMO he does almost nothing by himself, except perhaps fighting Boggles, keeping watch, and teaching other gods how to fight. He is not worshipped because he not dead but separated into many parts which never come as the old pure power he personified. Many gods of the Underworld have the Death rune, and it was found there, but the watchman aspect which is emphasized in the Pole Star was not here yet either when the Spike was made. Kargan Tor was totally neutral.
  6. Dyaus Pitar probably became Jupiter among the Roman Gods, and Tiwaz which became the Scandinavian Tyr much later. The latter was identified with Mars by the Romans. Theria could also means the wild animals. I think she was identified with Artemis, but it probably depended on the place and time. Artemis of Ephesus blessed the crops. Perhaps there was a transition from a hunter-gather lifestyle to a farmer lifestyle, and the deities changed later than the ways of life. The mythic sequence of Orlanth consists of different periods, including the Lightbringers' Quest, and in the end he was alone in the Underworld, because all the other Lightbringers were lost too. It is something an Orlanthi may heroquest into, but this can be extended to the whole clan in the Sacred Time, possibly emphasizing that particular aspect of the quest. The wives of the Tarsh Exiles are Maran Gori, but I think it is strange because they do not have fertility. I think some goddess like Mralota or other might be more suitable to the needs of everyday life.
  7. Is it possible that the purpose of the sexual taboo inside the clan is also to protect the community against kinstrife? If so, there may be another incentive for wars between clans, like in the Trojan Wars.
  8. I'm surprised to learn this. My Guide to Glorantha does not say so. In fact, they would age naturally if they did not follow their respective ways. They consider death as a result of misapplied use of their abilities. Yes, that way Mostali are wired is probably the motive that I was looking for. No, I think the Malkioni believe the process is sequential and incremental. Anyway, nothing was really broken which could be reversed. A lot of destruction was wrought on Zzabur's part. On the other hand, other users of sorcery do try and steal things from the Mostali who are paranoid because they can't use them properly. It would be a consequence of their obedience to Mostal. An interesting detail. I'm thinking it over.
  9. Don't you mean between Mostali and Brithini? This is what I mean. I edited my post.
  10. What is the difference between Mostali and Brithini? I think that they are very similar in their ascetic lifestyle, and wonder in which respects they differ. Although there are differences in lifestyle, both of them follow strict rules and are immortal under that condition. Both are ascetic and closed to the outside world. Both have a patron entity who is their source of magic, either Zzabur or Mostal. The Brithini are very similar to the Elder Races too, although they are human, but what is the Man Rune really? Dwarves have it too. I know the rules are not the same but they are based on the same principles. What are the fundamental differences in their worldviews?
