  1. @Scotty The game store I purchase most of my RPG books has recently become a member of the Bits and Mortar program, and they did send me the PDF download links for my most recent purchases. But I bought many more Chaosium books from that same store over the past several years, before they joined Bits and Mortar... and consequently didn't receive complementary PDFs for those earlier purchases. When I asked them a few weeks back if there was a way they could provide me, retroactively, with download links to books I had previously purchased, they said they were unable to and that I would have to contact Chaosium instead. I still have all my invoices/receipts and would gladly send scans/screen caps to you... if that would allow me to qualify for retroactive PDF downloads? Thanks in advance for your consideration.
  2. Agreed. I just finished watching season 1 of Chapelwaite and thought that was even better than the already great 30 Coins as far as "screen adaptations" of the CoC RPG go. Season 2 on the way for that series as well.
  3. Yep, Modiphius did make CoC 7E PDFs of the Achtung! Cthulhu player and GM books. I don't think they're available anymore now that Modiphius's CoC license has expired.
  4. Wow, I'm blown away by James's French - I had no idea he spoke the language at all!
  5. I would have much preferred to have a starter set with this cover art, as I really didn't like the original cover art. But alas, I don't think I'm willing to buy the same product twice.
  6. Anyone know if the "Buy Now Lulu" blurb that we see featured on POD items also appear on the physical POD items that gets shipped to the buyer? Or do the physical products come "clean" without the "Buy Now Lulu" blurb? See for example https://www.chaosium.com/nameless-horrors-softcover-pod/ Just wondering...
  7. Might be a problem with your browser? Until recently, I could read the Chaosium forums using Safari for iMac. Then, all of a sudden, when I would try to log-in, I would get an error message. For the longest time, I thought the forums were down. Then I tried to access the forums using Chrome, and everything worked perfectly. I just downloaded some of the errata files out of curiosity, and I'm able to open them without problem using Chrome on an iMac. So... maybe try a different browser and see if that solves your problem?
  8. Another brilliant phishing scam to prey on the masses of conspiracy-prone dimwits out there.
  9. Maybe he doesn't what his players to be too familiar with the mythos before they start the campaign, and would like to preserve some of the mystery and horror that comes with an initial encounter?
  10. This is absolutely incredible: http://www.ottgalleries.com/WelcometoArkham.html?fbclid=IwAR23Dw4j504aOkJaFo85ynSrYco-UTR4lxfSMgKq0Iz8FqQtNxC9oZelTDk
  11. What edition of CoC are you running, Aggamemnon? Pages 201-204 of the 7e Keeper Rulebook provides fairly comprehensive answers to your questions. As far as your "cupboard searching" example is concerned, this section of the rules on Obvious Clues is particularly worth paying attention to: Clues can also be obscured, rather than obvious: The following paragraphs go into more depth on resolving Perception rolls for obscured clues, consequences of losing a pushed perception roll, using more than one perception skill, player goals for perception rolls, Perception vs. Spot Hidden rolls when there is no clue to find, and use of Psychology rolls to discern NPC motivations. Please accept my apologies if you're already familiar with all of the above. I often find myself forgetting or overlooking some of the finer points of rules or adjudication-related suggestions. Edit: for your "spotting the gnome pocketing a relic during combat" example, you need to decide whether witnessing that is critical to furthering the plot or unraveling the mystery (in which case no roll would be necessary and you could just adjudicate that one of the PC's noticed the incident out of the corner of his eye). If witnessing the gnome's shenanigans isn't critical to the story, then I would probably call for a passive Perception roll, maybe at Hard difficulty or with disadvantage (since the investigators are probably focused primarily on the zombies posing a direct threat to them rather than actively scanning for larcenous gnomes).
  12. Great news, and good timing! Although I recently acquired several CB and WWC books, including the London boxed set new in shrink, I was about to pull the trigger on a few other CB and WWC items... glad I can save my cash and wait for the 7th ed versions to see print at non-inflated prices! Really looking forward to these releases, as the material I do have from both lines is of great quality.
  13. Seems that @glassneedles is right. A Time to Harvest is next in the production queue (I watched the interview when it was first released, but forgot that point). Mike also mentions other products that are in the queue:
  14. I know that it's probably only a matter of time until both Secrets of Tibet (7th ed.) and Nameless Horrors are available as POD, and that a few hard copies of Nameless Horrors are still available in some of the warehouses. But would anyone at Chaosium be willing/able to disclose whether there are plans to reprint the 7th ed versions of those books in the foreseeable future with updated graphics, layout, and the full colour treatment? And perhaps some new new content (for SoT in particular)? Thanks in advance...
  15. Nothing official that I've heard. There have been hints of projects that are being worked on, like the Cults of Cthulhu, Dreamlands 7e, and a source book about Arkham and environs... but I don't think any one of those are intended to be a big adventure, and no release schedule for upcoming products has been made public.
  16. Discussion has continued in this thread, which the OP acknowledged they originally missed: Perhaps an Admin can delete this thread to keep the discussion focused in one place? Cheers!
  17. You did a great job of making me want this... hope it makes it to retail in Canada!
  18. I don't have that scenario (yet), so I can't offer comments. But maybe watching this will give you some of the tips and inspiration you're looking for? https://www.enworld.org/threads/chaosium-the-stream-of-chaos-returns-this-friday-with-reign-of-terror.680703/
  19. I'd love for some of that foreign language content to be translated into English... that De Vermis Mysteriis book sounds/looks amazing!
  20. I think Modiphius still plans to release a CoC 7e version of the updated (2d20) Achtung! Cthulhu player and GM guides, sometime after the physical release of the 2d20 books. A survey they released a few months ago asked people what rule set they intended to play A!C with, and CoC 7e as well as Pulp Cthulhu were two of the options, along with Savage Worlds. Modiphius were trying to determine what conversions would be worth their effort... I believe that CoC 7e was in the lead by a fairly wide margin, but I can also see why they might try to adapt for Pulp Cthulhu instead). I suspect that they will release an updated version of Assault on the Mountains of Madness for 2d20 someday, but not sure if they will bother updating CoC 7e stats for it. There's very little difference between CoC 6e and 7e anyway, so if you got the PDF of the original AotMoM, you'd be fine.
  21. Have you checked out Assault on the Mountains of Madness from the Achtung! Cthulhu line for potential inspiration? Here's a review of the scenario.
