    Wergilds

It was post-Christianization, but there were pagan Vikings around. The law definitely didn't count pagan religious leaders as priests.

    Wergilds

Anglo Saxons also used larger wergilds for killing priests holding sermons.

    Wergilds

I don't think that I've ever seen a human NPC that lacked spells. Now that I think of it, I don't remember any that lacked some sort of healing spells either. But that's beside the point. Historically wergilds were paid for other than wounds or killing too.

    Wergilds

The CA temple charges the amount of the raised person's wergild.

    Wergilds

Yeah, I thought it a bit strange too, but in the Runequest Gamemaster Adventures p.103 it's stated that the wergild for wounding someone is half of their full ransom. Perhaps it's more about the offence than the long lasting damage. Eg. some cultures on Earth demanded wergild for tying up someone or cutting their hair.

    Wergilds

If there has been a combat outside war between two thanes who belong to different tribes, and the thane from tribe A has killed the thane from tribe B, but was wounded himself, how much would the wergild be? Would the wounds of the thane from tribe A be deducted from the wergild?
  7. It can only spit from two out of its five head eyes.
  8. In my last campaign that was naval and pirate themed I used mostly trade galleys as merchant ships, but also larger roundships that depend mostly on sails. How canonical are they?
  9. I'm running the Cattle Raid scenario, and earlier I had ran the Freedom Battle where the PCs were mistreated Colymar volunteers.
  10. Absolutely same. The village scenario was good, but the dungeon was almost unplayable.
  11. Hah, interesting stuff. We were just chatting on discord about suitable watch animals in Glorantha. Now there's one more beast on the list. And then there's of course this great war goose simulator: https://store.steampowered.com/app/837470/Untitled_Goose_Game/
  12. How calm are the wind in the Mirrorsea Bay?
  13. The description says that it can only spit from two eyes on its head, and the pic shows that they are on the front. But perhaps it's just one artist's version, and the head eyes can move, or some are on the back of the head.
  14. Can the Crimson Bat use its spit and tongue attacks on targets on its back?
  15. Does the Greydog clan have physical dogs too in addition to the watch spirits? Which clans/tribes in Sartar and nearby areas raise dogs or goats?
  16. In Runequest Roleplaying in Glorantha on page 410 the tables don't have a cavalry best types for all the animals. Do some animals lack the cavalry best type?
  17. Congratulations! Any new projects on the horizon?
  18. In the RuneQuest Borderlands & Beyond p.75: If a character remains standing straight up, he will not sink above his head unless he is carrying more ENC than he has SIZ. If totally unencumbered, the character will only sink up to his waist. If half encumbered, he will sink up to his upper chest. A standing character cannot move sideways. Momentum will carry a victim at least two meters into a pool before he realizes what he’s fallen into. If characters want to pull a fallen partner out of the quicksand, they can pull him one meter towards shore every melee round on which they make a roll of STR versus victim’s SIZ plus ENC on the resistance table.
  19. And can you have loyalty passions with people you don't trust?
  20. If a Humakti gets a geas about distrusting someone, what's the level of distrust required? Could they eg. go on an adventure with someone they distrust? Or live in a village with people they distrust?
  21. What kind of power did the Pavis High Priest of Orlanth have over the clans during the Lunar occupation?

    Gringles

It could fit 8 horses in its current size. My guess is that the number just wasn't double-checked.

    Gringles

Yeah, Gringle's "pawnshop" was a huge stone mansion, fit for a king. But it's understandable from a scenario standpoint, since a huge house was a more interesting setting. There are some problems with the new map, eg. the tiny stables can't hold 80 horses anymore. I've photoshopped a new version of the original map, which is a mix between the new and the old maps. It's not quite finished yet, but I was planning on printing it on some A4s, and run the new scenario with miniatures on it.
  24. Gloranthan religions are orthopractic, not orthodoxic, so the correct forms are important, not the beliefs. Here's a real world example of the stuff I'm talking about: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shabbat_elevator About the examples: A piece of random clothing that someone just throws on you isn't the same as wearing clothes, you'd have to pull the hat properly on his head for it to count, and that's quite a feat to pull off against an unwilling Windlord. The Chalana Arroy worshipper didn't hurt anyone. Orlanth has many different kinds of spirits of reprisal, so maybe the Wind Lord could get a small itch.
