  1. This is from my Blue Moon Empire project Troll Heresy The Blue Moon Trolls always had an important place for Annila, the Blue Moon Goddess, unlike most trolls. The formation of the Empire and the Goddess walking among them and providing a home for many trolls under the islands of her Moon, where the sun cannot touch them, has led the Blue Moon Trolls into full blown heresy. Trolls initiated to her cult can live comfortably underwater, and the light of the Blue Moon during the day protects them from the Sun. (Conveniently, the Blue Moon sets when the Sun sets). They now see Annila as the supreme mother of Trollkind and Kygor Litor as her daughter, while Nysalor is seen as, basically, evil incarnate, too evil even to be eaten. And Trolls will eat Chaos creatures. One of the central goals of the cult is to obliterate Nysalor; the deepest enemy of the cult are the Nysalorean Riddlers who show up like outbreaks of plague. According to cult tradition, Arkat tore off Nysalor's arms and legs, then forced him to eat his own genitals, then chopped his torso into four pieces, then cracked his skull open and ground his brains into powder. So there are ten pieces of Nysalor, though one piece is powder in a jar. Unfortunately, he hauled them all off to Stygia and when that fell, the pieces were scattered. The cult has found five of the pieces and keeps them at hidden, widely separated locations - they have the skull, the upper right piece of the torso, the left arm (found by Sheng Seleris, recovered when he was slain), the brain powder, and the lower left piece of the torso. The case of Sheng Seleris revealed something horrible - a person missing the appropriate part can graft a chunk of Nysalor to their body and gain some of his power. Someone bringing a chunk of Nysalor to the Blue Moon Trolls would be greatly rewarded. Blue Moon Trolls are not immune to the curse on Trollkind, but those initiated to the Blue Moon only give birth to trollkin in one of three births instead of half the time. They believe they can end it entirely if they can ever get their hands on all of Nysalor's remains.
  2. Nelat's Bath has many uses.
  3. I believe the Elmal version of Hill of Gold is where he and Orlanth first become friends. Since Elmal doesn't lose the fire rune, I expect this enables him to kick Zorak Zoran's ass and then Orlanth probably sleeps with Inora since that's Orlanth's main non-combat job.
  4. Mere speculation. Yelm having to marry his own female aspect after Ernalda left him amuses me as a thought.
  5. Elmal married Redalda, Goddess of Horses, in the Foreigner's Wedding. However, he and Heler also have a rivalry over the hand of Esrola, who they both want.
  6. Thought - Dendara is Yelm's female aspect and the mother of the Gold Wheel Dancers, but with her chained to Yelm, they can't exist as a separate thing. The creation of Nysalor was the final killing blow to her people and his death came too late.
  7. The earth element emerged from the waters, but left some of its essence behind in the oceans when it did.
  8. Being eaten by Krarsht means your essence is processed into more Krarshtkids to go eat more people to make more Krarshtkids.
  9. He's an illuminate, so breaking rules is his job.
  10. Yelmalio, given what happens at the Hill of Gold.
  11. Living things have a body and a sol. Spirits have no bodies. They don't eat food and they don't reproduce in the way that living things do. Physical beings can't even interact with spirits in a physical way, only by magic and spirit combat. Things like Heal, classic life magic, doesn't work on them.
  12. Not in the same way as corporeal things.
  13. Micro-organisms don't exist to cause disease; disease comes from spirits, which is a different rune.
  14. Ii did a Shaman of Kolat right here on this board:
  15. Real world mysticism covers that same huge stretch, but we would benefit from having several different flavors of illumination. The difference between a Durulz and what?
  16. That's a cool idea. Or you discover what is left of Nysalor is trapped in one of the Lich's soul gems. or both! You can have both! (Arkat would 100% have wanted the Hand and Eye of Vecna.) The Forbidden City is a natural to put in Pamaltela. (Or Seshnela because of the Yuan-ti, but the geography is wrong for Seshnela) White Plume Mountain was the former home of a God-Learner who fled their fall into some other realm, leaving his trapped home in a volcano behind.
  17. Page 132 of the Guide has a First Age Timeline. Page 135 and 137 (but not page 136) had the Second Age Timeline. Pages 141 and 145 have the Third Age Timeline.
  18. They then would need to buy Mongoose to get Traveller and they'd basically control the main survivors from the early age of RPGs.
  19. It would also give them control of D&D.
  20. I created some fan classes for 13th age Glorantha, covering Lankhor Mhy, Yelmalio and Yelorna, Elmal, and Kolat.
  21. I have to assume that's a mistake, given that Wakboth would have to be pinned under the block AND eaten and turned into time at the same time.
  22. That's the standard mythology, as laid out in the Guide, volume 1.
  23. A copy of the Abiding Book signed by one of the witnesses of its creation. A trial transcript from the trial of a rampaging Trickster put on trial by a God-Learner tribunal. The list of his crimes ends with 'And one Motion Rune violation'. An official Dwarven War Report of one of the seasons of the war on Zistor. A massive folio of diagrams related to Zistor and the Machine City The travel journal of a team of healers who seemed to always end up solving mysteries more than healing. A formula for synthetic blood developed by a God-Learner. Intended to 'help keep Vampires under control'. A small statuette of Hrestol dressed as an apothecary. A diorama with a collection of gods from various cultures, assembled to bless the wedding of Ernalda and Monster Man. (Someone with the right knowledge can tell each god is actually symbolic of a chemical or substance and this is enchanted to aid in various kinds of chemical synthesis. It just was left this way by the last user.) A crystal sphere the size of a fist; if you gaze into it, you see a beautiful city shaped like the law rune, seen from high above. (This is a representation of Solace. As imagined by its creator.) A bowl of water in which a stone turtle floats; careful study shows that the parts of its spikey shell which rise above the water depicts the land masses of second age Glorantha. This shows the world as understood by one of the cultures of the East Iislands. A small bowl which fits comfortably in the palm of your hand; spend 1 MP and it comes to life, burning with fuel-less flame which looks oddly like the Flame of Sartar... if that flame was lit, anyway. A 10 gallon glass cylinder without a lid, with a thick layer of some old powder on the sides. The skin of a dragonnewt, encased in a translucent green fluid inside a sealed glass container. (The dragonnewt in question is stuck awaiting rebirth until someone releases his skin from the fluid. Dragonewts literally cannot perceive the container.) An enchanted lens which doesn't seem to do anything. (It reveals invisible runes, a common trick in the second age and largely abandoned ever since. But given the lab's origins, *something* should have invisible runes.) Once potent but now just old goo containers of magical ink turned into goo by the passage of time. A glass container holding two pints of a silvery metallic powder which is not actually silver ((It's chromium!)
  24. This suggestion is based on how lizard skin is processed into lizard leather. First, you salt the skin to preserve it. Once you're ready to go to work, you bathe it to get the salt off. Then you soak it in lime (not lime juice, but the stuff made from marble) - this removes scales, nails, mucins, natural greases, and fats. It also splits the fibers so the collage in the skin can be worked. But then you have to delime the skin because if left on too long, you get goo. Citric or Acetic Acid are ideal. Then you pickle the skin to make it even more acidic so your tanning agents will work. The next step is to get a special tub which won't be destroyed by the special dwarven chemicals you need which convert it from organic skin to in-organic leather. You then shave the leather to degrease it and make it an even thickness. You then get a clay pot and soak the leather in a special bath using hard to get water and elven herbs to make it supple instead of stiff. Then you hang it to dry and carefully clean it. Then you can dye it and it's ready to turn into armor.
