soltakss Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Has anyone been to Chimériades? I'm thinking of going this year, but I am looking for more information. The Facebook page and the Website doesn't have any links to airports or travel information, or at least I couldn't find any. What's the best way to get to Chimériades? Presumably, I would fly to Aix en Provence and then get to Chimériades by train. Is that right? My French is very rusty, would that be a problem? I know there are some English speakers going, but are there English-speaking games available? Quote Simon Phipp - Caldmore Chameleon - Wallowing in my elitism since 1982. Many Systems, One Family. GianniVacca Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Has anyone been to Chimériades? Yes I went to the one in 2009. Philippe is organising a shuttle service from Aix to the Con. Check with him. My French is very rusty, would that be a problem? I know there are some English speakers going, but are there English-speaking games available? I think so... Jeff and Fabian are going to be there; Paolo maybe. As for myself, I have started negotiating with the wife... In 2009 there were several English-language games. soltakss Posted July 22, 2011 Author Posted July 22, 2011 Might be going, but can't get a flight to Aix-en-Provence. Marseille is probably my best bet, flying from Gatwick. Anyone flown to Chimériades from the UK before? http://chimeriades.blogspot.com/ Quote Simon Phipp - Caldmore Chameleon - Wallowing in my elitism since 1982. Many Systems, One Family. RosenMcStern Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 I think so... Jeff and Fabian are going to be there; Paolo maybe. Extremely likely that I will be there. And my French, despite having been in Paris for 6 months, isn't much better than yours, Simon. Quote Proud member of the Evil CompetitionTM

soltakss Posted July 26, 2011 Author Posted July 26, 2011 Wow - look'ee there - the site has a Contact page that I never saw before. http://chimeriades.blogspot.com/p/contact.html There are flights from Gatwick to Marseille and from Stansted to Marseille, but that leaves after 10pm, so I'll probably go from Gatwick. I haven't booked it yet but it looks more and more likely. Quote Simon Phipp - Caldmore Chameleon - Wallowing in my elitism since 1982. Many Systems, One Family. RosenMcStern Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Today I experienced the Paris-Marseille train trip for the first time, and it is doable. Unless I really really have to be in Lucca (the Italian game&comics mega-fair is on the same date) I suppose I'll be there. Quote Proud member of the Evil CompetitionTM
Mankcam Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 Ahh Europe, it sounds so small at times... (in a nice way!) Quote " Sure it's fun, but it is also well known that a D20 roll and an AC is no match against a hefty swing of a D100% and a D20 Hit Location Table!"
