Can someone shed light on this?

A passage from the Adventuring Guide pg 88.

Of these, some 100 cattle belong to the tribal Orlanth temple (whose high priest is the tribal king) and are sacred to the local Orlanth cult.

I see the Tribe ruled by Queen Leika.

Should it say ‘clan king’?

No, those cattle belong to the collective tribe (the Colymar), not to any one of the clans (e.g. Ernaldori, Varmandi, etc) within the tribe.

Leika is the Tribal King/Queen.

In that respect, "Queen" is just another term for a female King. Queen Leika is the tribal King.

To help clarify, Leika is a worshipper of the predominately male worshipped cult which is why their high priest is called a King by default. If Leika worshipped Ernalda she would be a queen by default. In either case, regardless of their gender, the leadership role takes on the predominate gender of the cult alignment to gender.
