1000buffalo
Yes, it's an awesome character. The game / campaign is looking to be weird fantasy using the CoC Dreamlands map (but not necessarily the canon that goes with it). I'll probably throw in some AS&SH stuff, Narcosa, and possibly even some Red & Pleasant Land.
BMonroe
What's "Narcosa"? Is that like the Dreamlands, but you can only get there through large doses of laudanum? 1 Quote Please don't contact me with Chaosium questions. Laudanum would be least of it. More like the dreaded black lotus. Narcosa.
Hexelis
And for those who're interested, here's my character for this upcoming game: Ka Talking raven mystic Awesome. I played a talking wolf shaman named Black Fang. It was one of the most interesting characters I've ever made.
seneschal
Just don't let those Dreamlands cats get the jump on Ka no matter how sweetly they talk. Not sure sentience overcomes inter-species inclinations.
BMonroe
Ka likes to call his version of the "Wrack" spell "Kill Cats." Quote Please don't contact me with Chaosium questions. seneschal
Now Ka just needs a human sidekick so he can perch menacingly on his or her shoulder. He casts the spells, sidekick takes the blame (and the heat), and Ka lives to wriggle his tail feathers another day. Humans are so useful that way, at least as long as they don't learn any real magic for themselves. "Another seed cake, Archy. And hand over those cufflinks, punk!" BMonroe
My ultimate goal is to completely flip the cliche of the hoary wizard, and get a human familiar to do my bidding. 1 Quote Please don't contact me with Chaosium questions. seneschal
My ultimate goal is to completely flip the cliche of the hoary wizard, and get a human familiar to do my bidding. Could work. My initial idea was a not-too-bright wannabe thief. Ka plans the heists, pulls the actual jobs, sidekick gets to deal with the city guard if they show up.
1000buffalo
Brief reminder - pack of Ravens is still called a "murder".
BMonroe
That's for crows. The collective noun for Ravens is a "conspiracy". Quote Please don't contact me with Chaosium questions. NickMiddleton
That's for crows. The collective noun for Ravens is a "conspiracy". Or an "unkindness"... Nick
1000buffalo
That's for crows. The collective noun for Ravens is a "conspiracy". Ka takes 2 HP damage for back talk to the GM ... and so do all the other members of the Unkind Murder. Respect commencing in 5 ... 4 ... 3 ... 1000buffalo
By the way, awesome name for a cabal (of Ravens?) ... the Unkind Murder. Or even Unkind Conspiracy.
BMonroe
I'm now thinking of some sort of hierarchy* between a Conspiracy of Ravens, and Murder of Crows. Like the ravens are the shifty, devious planners, while the crows are the assassins and 'muscle' of the group... Hmmm... (* - almost said 'pecking order'...) 1 Quote Please don't contact me with Chaosium questions. I'm no longer associated with the company, and have no idea what the new management is doing. 1000buffalo
That's cool. I'm stealing your gnoll idea for my BFRPG game in return. Teaching the meanings of the word "collaboration" and "sharing". And "lunch"!
