  1. That's an interesting selection. Here are some possible ways: Have them all making a train journey and be in the same carriage, when something happens. Give them a common purpose, but that doesn't always work out well. The occult professor and scientist could be investigating the mediums, for different reasons, maybe the soldier, zookeeper, and assassin want to try to speak to the dead, and they all meet in a parlour on the same day Having some of them related, or connected in their backstories, might help. In my experience, getting them together is the easy bit, but finding reasons for them to stick together after the first scenario is harder.

My guess is that the Atroxic Church will be downplayed, or at least the way it is written will differ a lot from the HW/HQ version.
  3. No, just use Orlanth Thunderous or Barntar. That is just the normal Ernalda cult. They would probably worship Barntar openly and Orlanth secretly, due to the Lunar opposition to the Orlanth cult. Bevara is probably just a Subcult of Chalana Arroy. She could be worshipped separately, but I doubt there is much point in that. The RQG Rulebook is probably the most up to date source, until the Cults books come out.
  4. I am pleased to announce another title in our Holiday Dorastor range, Holiday Dorastor: Ragnaglar’s Breath, another in our odysseys around the delightful place that is Dorastor. Here, you will find three new locations, and a set of scenarios and HeroQuests allowing you to banish Ragnaglar’s Breath from the Risklands. This RuneQuest supplement was written as part of the Write Your Own Adventure course. Warning: As with all the Holiday Dorastor range, this contains scenes of horror and destruction.

  6. Two Holiday Dorastor supplements have been included in DTRPG's Halloween Sale. So, get Seven Hills and Woods of Terror at 20% off.

  8. Maybe, but an undine is more like a bag of water, so the water itself is static even though the undine is moving.
  9. Yes, I have both of those, they are reasonable adaptations.
  10. As I am playing in an RQG Campaign, out GM have vetoed me reading some scenarios, in case he uses them. Fortunately, he is staying away from Pavis, Prax, and Dorastor, so I can read those.
  11. It looks great, and apparently I am allowed to read it, so I'll do it in depth over the next few weeks.
  12. Roll Low works well with Criticals on 1s, but Roll High works well with Criticals on Target Number.
  13. Extended Contests are probably what you need, as they reflect the blow by blow nature of those duels. If others are involved, make them Group Contests. I'd freewheel them a bit, making them more flexible and dynamic. How to do that, I can't say, however.
  14. Yes for Ares, Athena, maybe Apollo, if you think of Rune Lords as being martial. Yes for all, if you think of Rune Lords as being masters of their crafts. Priests are more the guardians of secret knowledge, and Rune Lords are those who go out and do things. I'd give all cults Priests, as they are the ones that keep the temples going. Rune Lords go out and do things. I'd also have Acolytes, or God-Talkers, as assistant Priests. All Temples and Shrines will have these.
  15. I don't think it is. It isn't in Arcane Lore, which is the main source of minor HeroQuests. The Book of Heortling Mythology mentions it under Gorangi Vak, but gives no real detail. I am hoping to include it in a future supplement of Orlanthi HeroQuests, but that won't be for a while yet.
  16. I am really not surprised. Silver should be within a week.
  17. In a Bronze Age game, horse trainers and traders could become really rich. However, there are other factors. Why would someone buy from them when there are Grazelanders nearby who sell proper horses? What about the Pol Joni, they have horse traders? Same with Elmali and so on. Who would buy from a two-man outfit, unless they proved themselves as being good horsefolk?
  18. Each culture or region has its own music, often derived from sacred music. However, there is a lot of overlap where cultures overlap. But, what do you mean by music for its own sake? Most music is written/played for entertainment instead of being purely for its own sake. Orlanth's Challenges to Yelm contained the Challenge of Music, where Yelm played the Harp and Orlanth played the Bagpipes. My guess it that there are. Music from one culture might sound odd, or out of tune, to people from another culture. I have no idea what this means, but probably, yes. The Yelmic culture, especially, in Dara Happa, would have a lot of musical sophistication, as they try to emulate the choirs of heaven. Uz are probably masters of rhythm, with different layers of rhythm in their music. I can see them performing the equivalent of throat-singing, by playing different sets of drums to overlay different rhythms on top of each other. Skilled Uz can use Sprout Arms to grow more arms and play more drums, so they can produce this effect themselves. The cult of Indlas Somer has an Amplification spell, if I recall correctly. These threads might be useful:
  19. Pulled out from the Running Gaumata's Vision (in Sandheart) thread due to Spoilers. Child Lamias can be fun, instead of seducing people, they ask "Will you be my friend?" very, very strongly, and the Adventurers get to play with their dollies and sit down to endless tea parties. Are there any other effects of monsters that are different for children than adults?
  20. There is an excellent one sheet guide in the QuestWorlds forum.
  21. Crazy and Bizarre - You have just described my Glorantha.
  22. Yelorna is the goddess of archers, of unicorn riders, of night hunters. A unicorn is none of these. I don't think that Yelorna suits unicorns as all. Not at all. The Cult Compendium says: So, a unicorn, being male, can join but subtracts 10 from CHA for the tests. Similarly, there are penalties for males to become Star Maidens or Star Ladies. It is possible, but difficult. Of course, the new Cults books might make Yelorna a female-only cult. Not according to the cult write up in the Cult Compendium,. This surprised me when someone pointed it out to me.
