  1. I have been RPGing now for 34+ yrs, I was 12 years old at the time and am 46 yrs old now. My systems are BRP, D&D v3.5, Pathfinder, Conan d20 v2, Heros System v5 Revised, Traveller (Mongoose Pub current), along with alot of other stuff. I have been extremely lucky and had a very fat buyers wallet over the years, and have collected a huge libary of resource books to be used as a great resource library. I have DM/GM'd for many years and have a current gaming group made of five guys my own age (mostly IT Geeks like me). We have been gamming together now for slightly over fifteen years in either my HG Fantasy or Traveller games. BRP has been a strong part of my House Rules for so many years now. heck we all are WarGamers, Table Top Space minis War gamers, and PBM/PBEM Midgard gamers as well too.We keep on gaming as we grow older, and manage to have games every other wednesday night from 6:30 pm till 11 pm. We have also manages to get most of our kids hooked into gaming in one sorts or another too. What can I say, we are the old crowd....Penn
  2. Ok I have sent a email to Chaosium's Customer Service, asking when the product will be offered in a 'printed" format for sale by them. Hopefully I will get some type of a answer from them. If I do I will post it here for the rest of you to see. Penn

  4. Hi Rod, I will just that and send them a email. It can't hurt, I just want to buy the products in a "printed" format, and am willing to pay for it too. BTW I think this site is a AWESOME site and will begin to post here more often with more meaningful posts as well too. Thanks, Penn
  5. Your book would make for a awesome edition to anyones libray of gaming stuff. Please continue on into the light of publishing your work in a "printed" format..please! Penn
  6. As with all things, it will take time I know. I guess I will just have to stay tuned and keep watching for it to be released in a "printed" version. Penn
  7. Hey I just don't want to read it, I want to buy a copy plain and simple. The more I can get in the way of resource material, the better off I am in adding more into my own game. Plus I like have as much reference materials as I can get my hands on too. Penn
  8. Once again where is the Deadtree or "printed" version of this book? I only buy "printed" versions of anything, inwhich I then add to my 32+ yr growing library of gaming stuff. I hope that this work comes out soon as it has been out now since before Christmas 2009. Penn
  9. Well I hope that they do a Deadtree copy of the work, because I like and only buy "printed" versions of any book to add to my ever growing gaming library. Penn
  10. When will the "Dead Tree" printed version come out? Penn
  11. Ahhh the true Vikings, that would be awesome setting. I would love to see this work completed and in print! Penn
  12. What will be the back story for your player, will they be members of a paranormal research team associated with a local university? The back story for how and why the players are together researching into these mysteries is just as important and can lead the players into many different adventures as well. Penn
  13. Hello "Dyvim Matt" , Glad to see more 'pen-and-paper gamers', do you also perfer 'printed' copies of your books like me too? Welcome to the board, and yes Elric is always been very much awesome!!! Penn
  14. Hello there 'frogspawner', To answer your question below...most likely I will look at the BRP d100 system and my own house rules to rebuild/convert my Fantasy (currently D&D v3.5 d20) and Post Apocalyptic (currently Gamma World d20) campaigns to using. I will also convert my 'Beyond the Supernatural' campaign into using the BRP d100 system as well too. The time is now and your system is in so many ways already used by me in my own house rules. I built many of them from some of the other past campaign books like Elf Quest and etc. I guess for years I was a sudo convert and didn't even know it...LMAO!!! Now as for Traveller, we are all old timer CT players and like the return of Mongoose to the use of CT type rules. For Traveller at this point we will stick with the Mongoose ruleset, plus our house rules(which once again come from former stuff taken from this very system...LOL!!!). Penn
  15. Well I can't speak for others, but I will not buy version 4 myself. I buy everything and have been very blessed to have the extra cash to dump on my hobby over the years. So for me I have decided to STOP buying anything WOC puts out for D&Dv4, and will not buy HS v6 either. My focus will be Traveller , and now it would seem BRP products as well. So call me a Convert, I will have no problem with convincing my players to also convert to BRP d100 system. If they all do that then they will use that system to rebuild/convert their own games/campaigns to use. BTW I still buy 3rd party D&D v3.5 d20 stuff to add to my resource libray. I am hoping that BRP will begin to produce resource material to support this awesome system, and remember please offer stuff in "printed" format! Penn
  16. Wishful thinking... have you been following or reading all the articles that have come out about the decline or loss of older gamers (those with all the buy cash) for the WOC v4 D&D. Every forum is talking about it and quite a few gaming stores that I visit have also reported players are just not buying the new books. These game store owners in my area (Greater Philadelphia, PA and Southern New Jersey areas) all seem to tell me that the older gamers refuse to play the new version of D&D. They also say that all the younger folks don't have the money to buy these books higher priced books, and those that did aren't buying them either. Sales are down, interest is down, and activitiy is also down. WOC cult their own throats and pissed off many of their older gamers with D&D v4, and ending the Dragon magazine (printed). I have always spent alot of money of gaming stuff each year, BUT they will no longer see a dime of mine again. Plus all my six players are all DM/GMs as well and they all have their own gaming groups(each having 5-6 players with a DM/GM each) and they all have dropped D&D too. Now one seems to love the new version of D&D except those that have played and like Star Wars Saga edition. So I am only speaking of what I have read on different forums, and what my players and their players are all saying, plus the game store owners. It seems to quite a few that WOC DD v4 isn't doing as well as was hoped and that many older players with the cash to spend are NOT BUYING the new books or even playing. Besides my own son (age 13) whom GMs for his own group of 5 players, plays Hero Systems v5R. He uses Fantasy Hero and has picked up BRP and has started to read it. He doesn't like D&D v4 and likes the complicated HS v5R better. Penn
  17. Hmmmmm I like this idea very much... If I were to design a world...I would design one based on Barsoom (Mars). I would use the Red Skin egg laying Martins, the tall 4 armed Green Tharks, and white 4 armed Apes as the races on the planet. Oh if I had to I could alter the races to not infringe on copy witten materials. Also I would make the world a little more alive and make the world itself set in a kinda Post Apocalyptic setting, with major ecco/geological problems. The world is dieing but the natives do not know it. I would also have "Gateways" leading to other worlds, but these are long since forgottened by the current peoples on the world. Many different possibilities here. Penn
  18. I love this type of setting such other games could be: WOC Gamma World d20 Hero Post - apocalyptic Hero v5R All Flesh Must be Eaten - All Tomorrow's Zombies (modern/Space) All Flesh Must be Eaten - Dungeons + Zombies All are great for resource material to aid one in building a better campaign. Penn
  19. Wow...I tell you guys...I have played one version or another of D&D now for 32+ years, BUT my campaigns have always been focused on Roleplaying first and Realistic Combat system next. Getting into combat was extremely deadly in my game for the NPCs and PCs alike. Also I tended to get rid of Hack n Slashers out of my gaming groups. I have been extremely lucky to have a group of six players that are all DM/GMs themselves (with their own gaming groups) now for some 12+ years. We would play using many House Rules that much of them came from other BRP books of the past. We played AD&D, Gamma World, and Traveller. So to answer this threads question, I would say with the failure of WOC D&D v4, and the new HS v6 coming out...that the stage is set for BRP system to get out their and make itself know and attrack all the players that have fled the above two systems. Now is the time to support and put out products for the game. I would say make a resource for Fantasy, Post-Apocalyptic, and Space setting. Then start make adventures and etc. The US gaming market is wripe for a new system, why not BRP. Penn
  20. Hello everyone, I am new to your Forum, but not new to RPG games at all. Plus over the years I have actually purchased and played a number of these games that makes up this d100 system...I believe my first one was Elf Quest. Now the way I find myself here is that in the recient years I collected alot of D&D v3.5 d20 stuff, and when WOC decided to move to D&D v4 I said to heck with them. Oh I have bought all the books for AD&D, D&D v2.5 (the best version), and D&D v3.5 but refuse to do it again for D&D v4. I have also always loved and played Gamma World and Traveller. For a time I was going to convert all of my games/campaigns for D&D, Gamma World, and Traveller to use Hero Systems v5 Revised...thus using Fantasy Hero, Post - apocalyptic Hero, and Traveller Hero (1248 era). I was deep into my rebuild and conversion work when Hero Systems announced starting March of 2009 that they will be going from HS v5R to HS 6. I own everything HS v5R all 75 or so books and will buy the last remaining ones to come out, but will not move on to HS v6. Next I have always collected Traveller 'anything' over the years and with the release of Mongoose's Traveller...I have decided to stick with their version of the rules and have bought it all that they have put out so far. I feel Mongoose Pub is doing a awesome job and one should look at their other lines as well too. That being said that leaves me with what I should do with my +25 yr old D&D and +25 yr old Gamma World campaigns? So I looked around at all the systems and just purchased the Basic Roleplaying d100 System book and wow what do I find but a ton of my own sytle House Rules. I was floored by what I found and have decided to make the move to convert to the d100 system. Many of the former books that have made up this system I have and absorbed many of the better rules and then tweaked them into my own House Rules. I am extremely pleased to join this forum and hope I can add to the knowledge here, and also gleen much from all of you. I bow to all of you and look forward to being a part of you all. Respectively yours, Penn
