  1. How about the Ship's new medic/steward is really someone that was greatly wronged by the captain/owner of the said "ship" and he wants to get revenge. The NPC has had cosmetic surgery and using a false alias. He has all the skills needed to do the job he signed on for, but also has some others to cause trouble. Now this NPC doesn't want to just kill the captain/owner, he wants to ruin him and strip everything he can away from this captain/owner. Maybe he posions folks, causes breakdowns and damage, frames situations so that people are killed, and all sorts of issues to greatly tarnish and ruin this captain/owner. Penn
  2. I'd rather see good old hard SciFi, and drop the Opera part. Penn
  3. Enpeze...your pic icon is a Pitbull with human dentures? Cute!!! Penn
  4. Well as I stated earlier, I have not looked at Cthulhu anything in years. I thought that maybe BRP and Cthulhu might be slightly different game systems, I see now that they are not. That works for me then. Penn
  5. I have read the above description and was hoping for a little more depth about the product. Sounds interesting, but I'd like to hear more about the setting and etc! Penn
  6. So can we get a more indept description about this setting from those that know more about it? Is this for BRP or Cthulhu settings? Details please!!! Penn
  7. Thank you and I figured I could do it just using BRP without the Sanity check mechanics. So basically Cthulhu is BRP Horror with the added Sanity check stuff? Is that correct or are there other mechanics as well? For the record I have run Horror alot before using Beyond the Supernatural, Chill, and Horror HS games mechanics. I just never liked the sanity check part of Cthulhu. Penn
  8. Now I have run Horror based campaigns but used either "Beyond the Supernatural" or Horror Hero System as the games mechanics system, with some of my own House Rules as well too. Penn
  9. Well that is good, I was thinking about getting a copy of it in "printed" format when ever it is available again in that style. Hopefully at the same time the Green will be in "printed" format as well too at the same time. Penn
  10. Ok so what will it be...visions of "Thundar the Barbarian" or "Thunder Cats" or what...lol Penn
  11. I guess being a 32+ yr Traveller player and GM, I like it's approach to the concept of Space gaming. Now the sanity thing isn't to my personial taste and most likely why I never ran Cthulhu type campaign. For me I could adapt/convert Traveller over to use BRP system and it would work just fine. Maybe I am just looking for more resource materials that use the BRP system to do just that with. There is nothing wrong with the Sanity system approach, it is just not to my liking or taste of my gamers either. What can I say, I am a product of my gaming back ground...D&D for over 34+ yrs(AD&D, vs 2.5, vs 3.5 d20) , Gamma World, Traveller, Hero System, and BRP systems. Penn
  12. I see this is only cuurently on sale as a .pdf, wasn't it once on sale as a "printed" version as well? If it was why is it not available in that format anymore? Penn
  13. Just remember keep building that gaming reference library. You never know what one day might come to be useful material. Penn
  14. Looks like I shall need to obtain these products then to add to my Library of resources. One can never have to many resources to mine for ideas. Penn
  15. Hey a update, I heard back from Charlie at Chaosium, my order as of today as switched to the status of "Shipped", thus I should get it hopefully by this weekend. I can't wait<VBG>! Seems I have a few more books to purchase on the Cthulhu Rising line... Penn
  16. Hey at the least it will make a good read and a reference book for BRP style stuff. You never know when some idea or element in any book might come into being needed in ones campaign realm. I usually tend to try to have a complete collection of gaming stuff for a system I like and use. Thus the more the better in the long run. Penn
  17. Don't forget my favorite...Zombies of all sorts and "flavors'...! Penn
  18. Well I am not a fan of the Runequest system, BUT will buy it as a resource book just the same. My guess is it has all the fantasy Fluff that we have all seen for years, and what I feel you should go into is Occult, Paranormal, and New Age flavor that will add deeper color and greater lasting appeal for your resource book. Penn
  19. You know is my own space campaign (Traveller) I had a plot line of Space Zombies that was caused by a plague that spread very hard and fast. Very nasty to say the least, BUT I like the virus and effect it had of the folks in "I Am Legend" creating that new breed of nasty former NPC Human creatures. Extremely awesome and very nasty to deal with, even better than plague Zombies I felt. I still don't want to use the Sanity Check roll though... Penn
  20. Hey another BRP book is good and as many know me that I need to buy them all for anything I collect! I guess this is a space based theme which is cool for me. Penn
  21. For me the game is nice because one can "plan" and "plot" with others and having a month to do all of it between turns allows for one to do alot with others. Plus there is alot of mailer traffic and etc ... always there to fill the time too. You can roleplay, or dig into mysteries, or fight. It is all up to what you want to get involved with. Some of the things we Seekers have tackled, a 30 ft Fire Salamander...that 1/3rd of it is head with dagger sharp teeth. Covered in scales that our metal spears and arrow heads harmlessly bounce off of. It's bite is deadly poison, and kill quickly. Can carry off a single retainer in it's mouth, as if it is a dog taking it's prize bone back to it's lair in the ground. Now think about trying to figure out how to capture or kill that thing. How about if it is a mated pair, with a nest of young? Or what about dealing with a Pirate by the name of Red Muligan that is attacking a region around a city, and trying to bully the people into following him. Trying to chase him down at sea or catching his men ashore. Hunting that character down that no one seems to know whom he is or what he looks like, but seems to have men or allias everywhere. Or trying to find a Tower that has no doorway and a strange light that shines from the top windows and can only be seen on clear full moon light nights. The actually location is not know, but the region it is in seems to be. It is said that a hermit that lives there knows some special ancient abilities that are rare and very worthy to be taught. Or find a sea cave in a rock face that is only visible durring low tide, and is said that is a secret place where Pirates store their treasure and loot. The only problem the sea caves entrance is only visible for a few short hours, and there apears to be a great deep cave system inside the cave to explore before the rising water. Or finding a mound in the middle of no where, where there is a fire pit just outside the entrance into the mound. One can see that the pit has been used reciently, and that there are foot prints leading into and out of the mound. What might one find? Or crossing the great plains and finding a great large area of grasses burned, and Searching the region one finds a depression within the center of the burned area, Located in the center is a large mass of shinny rock that looks like a kinda of metal, unlike any you have ever seen before. Very hard but extremely light. What might one be able to do with that metal, maybe have crafted a set of armor and weapons? What or how might they be different? It is these types of things that we have all dug into and the new game owners are continuing with... Or you can fight Bandits, Pirates, or Dakarian troops too. You have to set up your clan in units and etc. At this point most clans are only about 200-300 men, but mine is almost 500 men. Planning a combat can always be fun, and doing things like a ambush or etc is fun as well too. The sky is the limit. It all depends on what you define as fun. Penn
  22. Very nice guys...thank you very much. The one thing that I never liked about Cthulhu is the "Insanity" thing and would most likely drop that all together. Play it as BRP only minus that part of the system. It wouldn't be Cthulhu anymore, but just another flavor of BRP and that is ok with me. Penn
  23. Hmmmm I have said I have not looked at anything Cthulhu in years. Now I like the Cthulhu Rising stuff so far and will down load it first and if I like it I will buy the printed copy for Chaosium next. Are there any other supplements for that version of the game and do you need the Version 6 Core rules book as well too? Actually is CR version 6? Penn
  24. Hey there Byron A, Write what you feel most happy with, but I would try to add more depth and do something different. Make a totally unique product that has alot of new and different stuff, go into gray areas that others have not done before. Make your product different and add color and details that others have not bothered to go into before. You could combine the standard Fantasy stuff and add all the Occult, Paranormal, and New Age stuff as well into the same product. Be different and add what you know or have been trained in and add onto it. I'll buy the product once it comes to a "printed" version just the same!!! Penn
  25. Well Necromany should have more basis on Paranormal and Occult issues and elements I would think. Dealing with talking to the Dead, such as Ghosts or Haunts. I would try to focus on the New Age views, rather than the Fantasy D&D view! I would like it regardless...I'll take a "printed" copy of it once it is out! Penn
