  1. Could it be too much to hope for; BRP SLA Industries? That would be (and I don't use the word lightly) AWESOME!
  2. I'm not adverse to adding a stat or two to a BRP Jorune game. After all, Colour is something not covered in any other genre. As an aside, are you on Face book? There is a Jorune group called Shambo in the Shenters run by Clawcarver who was also looking at a BRP conversion. Not too advanced, but another Jorune resource. Cheers Damon
  3. Oops. My sincerest apologies. Damon
  4. There are several conversions to other systems in the Jorune site. Not being familiar with most of the systems on offer, I have not looked at them, but I was wondering whether there is anything to learn from them?
  5. Thanks. I had not considered the effect on different species. I only looked at it from a human centric perspective.
  6. When I first thought about this, I just thought of just linking Colour and Isho to POW. This way, it eliminates the odd situation where with random chargen, you have too much of one and not enough of the other. Just my thoughts. I couldn't think for a good enough reason to have them separate.
  7. Jason, I'd be interested in playtesting the fencing rules. As it is I have belatedly discovered El Capitan Alatriste and ordered the rpg from Spain. I understand it includes fencing maneouvres in a Gurps like system. I've got a group running DH at momenet but can stitch in some time to playtest. Cheers Damon
  8. Lol. Glad you like it. For example. You will only find an air rune at the top of Kero Fin. If you can climb it, and are worthy, you will be able to embody it. Other places. To be decided but at present I haven't got the time to map runes to Glorantha. There won't be many places tied to runes. They'll be gaurded. Most likely by the priests and servants of the gods who have that rune in their power. Probably not all gods will have a sacred site, and it is likely that rival cults will fight for them. Places that spring to mind; The Block - Law rune The paps - earth rune Copper sands - Metal rune Ogre Island - Chaos rune I'd be happy to hear suggestions to add to my list.
  9. I like this idea. I did a lot of soul searching about the physical Runes. I have reconciled it thus. Physical Runes exist, but they are big. Geograhic in fact. These are places of power and shrines and temples have sprung up on them. So in order to attune a Rune, you need to go on pilgrimage and do 'tasks' 'stations' heroquests? Not sure yet. My Glorantha will vary. Anyway, you'll need to quest for these runes and will be guarded by temples etc. Once you are dead, its gone. Was also thinking of giving the runes a % rating too. That way, you gain mastery at 100%.
  10. Nice. I may use that in my games if you don't mind.
  11. Ice blade/ spear /axe? Can reshape at will.
  12. Its not official, but the way I do it straight forward enough. Think of a number, say 63. Divide by 10= 6.3. Round down to 6. For criticals divide by 2 = 3 For specials multiply by 2 = 12. Its not exactly difficult maths and after a while it becomes second nature. I've noticed that it doesn't quite fit the bables, but I am happy to round in the players favour if he is just about to miss out on a crit or special.
  13. Belated Merry Christmas and wish you all a Happy New Year to you all. Its been a busy time.
  14. Pete. Some very good points. I agree that martial arts is a matter of techniques both open and secret. The aimed blow rule always struck me as odd, as it is made as a difficult roll and carried out at the end of turn, as 'you have to wait for an opening'. For me martial arts techniques, is about delivering precise blows to the desired hit locations after being trained and many hours of practice. These can also be unarmourd parts of the body, such as hips, neck, face, hamstrings etc The effectiveness of the blow is as a by product of its desired target. I liked the RQ Land of Ninja Ki skills which improved the critical hit range and allowed a master swordsman to be deadly with one stroke. The current MA skill doesn't do it for me either, but if anyone asks, I'll use it as a way of delivering aimed blows without the penalties.
  15. The BRP book contains suggestions on running Scifi campaigns and includes rules for some hi tech hardware. You won't get the same rules as Ringworld, but it will be pretty close. Just read up on Ringworld and BRP should help you on your way.
  16. I think you've missed a couple of real world issues. 1. Anti tank mines are designed to incapacitate a tank's tracks rather than penetrate the armour. They can be triggered by pressure and can be set to ignore light vehicles. 2. Light Antitank Weapons are designed to penetrate armour and kill the crew. The explosion in the interior may cause additional damage through fire to the controls and may trigger a second explosion as the ammunition catches fire. In both cases above the tank could be repairable depending on the dammage. In the case of your accord. The explosion of the antitank mine would destroy your tyre, wheel, suspension, steering and possible engine and or petrol tank. Additionally the passengers in the front would suffer shrapnel from the explosion. In the case of the LAW, the car interior would be consumed by fire after the explosion and there is a high chance that the petrol tank would also explode catch fire. In both circumstances, although the vehicle could be repairable, one or more components would be destroyed, rendering the car useless. See it as a Major Wound result crippling the car.
  17. Sounds very interesting. I enjoyes playing RQ Vikings back in the day and that sparked my interest in Icelandic Saga's. Looking forward to it.
  18. Sounds interesting and a little Moorcockian. I'll keep my eyes out for this one. Damon
  19. Another option is to go like pendragon using blackjack mechanic for your opposed rolls. Should speed up combat as you are comparing attack value to attack value. No parry's and no pesky shields.
  20. Thanks for sharing. This could work for me too although I was thinking of using the Allegiance value as my core Force Skill value. So the more you align yourself, with a side, the better you become. I suppose I can tie abilities in as you have done. How have you allocated them? Eg at 30% you get say 3 abilities 4 at 40%.? I originallly wanted to link abilites to different traits eg anger, hate etc but there is no foundation after doing some research. Hmmm its frustrating trying to decide. At least I have somewhat more to go on now. Cheers Damon.
  21. Hmmm. I am now thinking of a way of using allegiance but it is triggered by the Traits and passions. Thanks
  22. Shaira, Thanks for your thoughts. I hadn't considered Allegiance but I'll have a look at this.
  23. Oh. I forgot to add: Passions. These are things that will work well with the Dark Side (eg Hate Jedi). However, I don't see how these would work for the Light Side. How could this be balanced in play? Would it make the Dark side too powerful? Also, another thing about traits. I wanted to be able to 'corrupt' characters by using opposed trait rolls. So for example. Darth Vader wanted to scare Luke/ make him angry and hoped he'd use the force while in fear or anger. Whereas a Force sensitive player could use the force at any time, if Luke failed his Courageous / Fearful roll not only would he gain a fearful check, he'd also get a Dark Side PP to use. This brings me to another point. Force Points. These are not set on your POW stat alone, but can grow from your traits as they become more extreme. Also, when Darkside corruption occurs, a Lightside point will be turned Dark and can only be used for Darkside powers. This represents the slow decline to the darj side. The reverse is not possible without some huge sacrifice or act of selflessness as Darth Vader showed when he Killed the Emperor in Return of the Jedi. In this case, all his darkside points turned Light again (before he died). How does this sound? My head has been a mess all week as I have tried to put some shape to these, but o feel I'm missing somethig.
