  1. Thanks guys. Its intended for a Con game, so I want to keep it simple. There will be another sheet with a character description, goals and inventory. Due to the somewhat unusual nature of Jorune (as well as the nice artwork) I'm toying with the idea of having separate cut out pieces for weapons with a brief description of how they work and do. For example I need to model a Field Ram. With a bit of luck, I will get a few more converts both to BRP and Skyrealms of Jorune.
  2. Well after much frustration, I present the first draft of my BRP Jorune Character sheet. This sheet is designed for an Earth Colony era game. Hence no isho skills. There may be some errors in formatting or editing I have not ironed out yet. Once I have this finalised, I'll upload it in the download area. BRP Jorune CS v1.pdf
  3. Lol No I don't think my other half would have been happy with me going to meet strange men in a hotel either. Thank God Continuum will be on.
  4. Great news! Looking forward to it. Now let's finish some scenarios.
  5. If successful, there should be an attachment of a Mongoose Conan Word charactersheet for a fan made demo scenario called "And the snow will run with the blood of your enemies" or something like that. I do like the spacing, the black headers and how it looks. I just wish I could do something like this, without spending a month agonizing over every measurement. eregerth..doc
  6. Ahh. Necessity, the mother of invention. Unfortnately, no such covenant exists withing my group.
  7. I want to have some custom charactersheets for a BRP game at a con. I want to both emphasize BRP's flexibility as well as sell the game better than its original system. A generic charactersheet is just going to look pants. As a player, and GM, I have never seen anyone do their own charactersheets other than for cons.
  8. I can't seem to do it on my blackberry, but I'll attach one I've seen done for Mongoose Conan in word. I consider it to be nicely done but just thinking of sizing all those tables gives me a headache.
  9. A bit of a rant this but please bear with me. I am hopeless at doing charactersheets. I haven't got the time, I don't get the dimensions right. I don't get layout right. Not having the right Charactersheet is what puts me off running BRP. Everytime I have an idea and think, "Cool, BRP could do that easy" I then come unstuck at the charactersheet. I'm really fed up with this let down. You'd think that with this attitude, I'd be grateful for all the character sheets available in the down load section. So am I? Well, yes and no. Some are very good at doing what they do, .but, and this is the issue for me, it doesn't do what I want them to do. What do I mean by this? Well. For example, if I wanted to play a gritty Sci-fi game with specific skills, I don't want to find skills like Ride on it. I also want to be able to have / decide on things like general hit points v location hit points. Insanity points. Skill bonuses etc. In short, I want to make these decisions, and not have to rely on someone elses design decisions. If I don't want half a page of powers, I don't need to have it. I know that it is easy to customise Excel charactersheets, but they end up too 'square'. That is, lots of right angles and straight lines and a touch too busy. I do not have any desktop publishing tools either, so have to do with Open Office, Excel or Word. What I want is a totally flexible and customisable character sheet template. PDF's are out. Imagine something in Excel, with a questionnaire regarding options for BRP that then runs a macro that populates the charactersheet. Something I could add graphics to if I wanted a snazzy header, or a background image. Is this just me, or do you also feel that there is a real need for something like this? I am dissapointed in Chaosium in not coming up with either a book full of charactersheets for the most popular combination of options and genre's or an application that can design them according to your settings. Maybe its just me wanting it too look just right, but I do think a good looking character sheet that is designed with the genre and game in mind will help get the players in the right mood for the game.
  10. Listen. Don't know what kind of games you like, but I only play games with the word 'Condom' with the missus. ;-p
  11. Well if the worst happens we could always have our own mini con in a hotel in Leicester.
  12. That's really bad news. 2008 was the first convention I ever attended and have been looking forward to this since then. I only just booked last week and have already shelled out for non refundable flights. I do hope its not cancelled. Fingers crossed that you get the numbers to make it worthwhile. I've invited all my gaming friends on Facebook so hope that helps.
  13. Thank you. Best of luck in your work. You will always have an appreciative fanbase on this site.
  14. Fergo, Thanks but I already have them from 9 August 2009. With that, I think I have enough to start a game. Magic in ME being what it is can be dealt the Pendragon way. Its a great effort and hope to see the completed works one day. By the way, is their a Contents page yet? I assume so, as you know what your chapters are.
  15. Wow. You really wemt to town with the character sheets. Good stuff. I think I'll print some off and pass them round my group to see how they feel. However, I've just run the 4th session of Pendragon GPC and don't want to let my GamerADD scupper that just yet. Perhaps if I can get some one else to run it?
  16. Does this include 'The fall of Guthlac Abbey' which was part of the Pagan Cthulhu: Dark Ages campaign? There were other non DA scenarios there but they are not available for free any more.

  18. Ian, Sorry to hear about the family. Don't worry about the delay. Hope everything sorts itself out. Cheers Damon
  19. I wish to add my thanks and support. There is no other site that can compare to this in terms of community, discussion and support for BRP. For that you have my etarnal thanks! Cheers Damon
  20. Merry Christmas everybody. Feliz Navidades para todos.
  21. I haven't seen the film and probably not likely for another year. However, from the trailer, I got a sense thatbthere were some similarities with Skyrealms of Jorune. There's the crystals, flying islands and Talmaron like flying creatures. Was there anything else? Or is it just me? I'm happy to hear spoilers. Cheers Damon
  22. I'm just reading up the PDf by Sholari James 'The Lamorri'. Not sure how canon this is but according to it, Lamorri still exist within their strogholds within essence amplifiers. Presumably, the machines for spawning their bodies also exist in their strongholds. Now, these are guarded under the eternal siege by the shanthas (shantas?) and access I'd prohibited to the Slave races. So where could these be? Perhaps the 'holy burial grounds' which the colonists invaded some of these. Except the buried were not shanthas but Lamorri. I would have thought maybe Ardoth, but the shanthas allowed the Humans to settle there. The Thoosahs are also potential sites, including Tan Iricid. The thriddle led the attack on the sites and claimed that the lamorri had been hunted out, but as the Shantha learned some remained. Were the thriddle entirely honest then? By the way, the thriddle were also responsible for the Lamorri genetic plague. This puts into my mind the bio weapon used by the colonists against the Shanthas. Were the thriddle involved in that too? Its all rather frustrating. Too many questions not enough straight answers. Sometimes I wish, I could thrash all this out in a video conference with Andrew Miles etc.
  23. Yes indeed. How much do we know of the Thriddle involvement with the original Earth colonies? Regarding Steve's comment in the rpg.net thread. What about the war with Thantier for Tan Iricid. How did the Thriddle conduct warfare? If they managed to defeat Thantier, that would be no mean feat. What do we know about this? Did the Thriddle have a hand in ensuring the various earth colonies remained isolated for so many years? Knowing how xenophobic humans can be I find it a little hard to believe yhayt the Dharsage hasn't become suspicious of the thriddle. Or perhaps they have but there is nothing they can do? My greatest fear is that the Lamorri had a psychic mind control slavery rather then the traditional shackles and chains. Maybe even genetic manipulation to ensure obedience. If a Lamorri were to turn up, thriddle would become subservient and begin working for their masters again.
  24. Crikey. You've done your homework. There's a lot of hood stuff there. I think you've covered just about most things. I'm in the middle of a xmas party now but will have a ponder in next few days. You're awesome.
