  1. Yeah, like an ancient Chinese flamethrower. I think the dwarf looks kind of Roman, which makes sense considering they're supposedly the most technologically advanced society on Glorantha.
  2. Damn those are some pretty sweet designs! I am a bit curious as to how you got them all to pose for the shot though, especially with a broo, troll, elf, and dwarf all in such close proximity to each other.
  3. Yeah that should be it. There's a seperate PDF version of just that chapter available too but you can just use the stuff in the book.
  4. You should be able to use most of it as is. If you want to make sure the NPCs are up to date, just download the free RQ2/RQ3 to RQG conversation document.
  5. I have an unnamed Old Tarshite warrior that I made about an hour after downloading the game. Currently I'm working on recreating my first Runequest character, Sartarite townsman Hizla Vurmak, who sadly died to an arbalest in a tree during his first adventure. I think my next character will be converting my first ever character, Helm Dundragon, ex-war wizard and excessive drinker extraordinaire. Now my next problem is actually finding a game so I can play these guys...
  6. Eh, I think I'm in the group who prefers simple black & white books. I really like RQs simple, minimalistic style that still covers an entire game in a relatively small amount of pages, and gives just enough lore to get me interested while not flooding me with essays on all the different cultures and locations. I actually think RQ2 is more readable because there's not as much to distract from the text.
  7. I know it's not a thing for my generation. You'll be lucky to find someone who even knows about games other than D&D, and only a very few of people actually buy that, so I doubt they'll be picking other games up for good art.
  8. The Bestiary preview for the Aldryami said that Dryads can control incomplete creatures so I think animals will be using RQ3 rules like fixed int. Note: I know next to nothing about rq3 so I may be wrong about any comparisons I make.
  9. Really? Now I'm not saying that I've been to a lot of stores, but in all the gaming stores I've visited and in the ones I've heard people talk about D&D, while definitely getting the most shelf space, isn't by far the only game they carry. In fact, the total number of non-D&D games in my LGS outnumber D&D by at least five to one, and they're fairly quick to stock up on new big-name releases (that then get bought out in the span of a day by rabid fans). I'm not disputing that most RPG sales happen online, that's probably a fact given this day and age, but there's plenty of ways to buy it in person still.
  10. Is there any chance we'll be getting another preview sometime in the near future. Perhaps on, say, the Mostali? My group's thinking of firing up our campaign again but we need rules for Dwarves if the legendary Orrinf-with-a-silent-f is to live again.
  11. Does Critical Role do games other than D&D?
  12. They were perfectly playable to my group, we didn't care if there was a lack of information on culture or cults for the elder races because we could just invent our own stuff if something was missing our look it up online.
  13. Eh. Different groups, different perspectives. Luckily I never had to worry about those things because we never fully learned the rules and were to preoccupied laughing at the hilariously comical deaths of friend and foe alike to even care if we had neat rules like disarming and knockback, which we didn't because RQ2 was simple like that. I am a tad disappointed at some of the design choices but I can houserule it anyways and it's still a good game nonetheless.
  14. Well... Alignment is really only used in one game, albeit the biggest one on the market, most others tend to have quite a bit of moral grey. And really, most fantasy settings I've seen nowadays put some effort into trying to make their races much more unique, though only a few pull it off really well.
  15. I've only played RQ2 but I do think RQ3's skill modifiers were a lot better than 2's.
  16. Yes, that buying the "lucky" advantage IRL should be illegal.
  17. Same here. Well, not fully reformatted, but somewhat better looking. I have sorcery, mysticism, ritual magic, and sorcery sects as well.
  18. No, "Runequest Fantasy Earth" has been confirmed as an upcoming system.

    God runes

The way Glorantha is presented in RQ is a bit different than it is in HQ.
  20. Apologies but I'm gonna bump this because RQG's finally out so this is finally relevant. If anyone wants to try out playing some crazy dragon mystic like I would this is for you until when (if?) Chaosium gets some official rules for this kinda stuff out.
  21. You can use the Bestiary sampler they put out or the monsters from any other edition or even another brp game for now probably.
  22. It's so beautiful... 😯
  23. THE PROPHECIES ARE FULFILLED, OUR VIGIL IS FINISHED! RUNEQUEST LIVES AGAIN! GO FORTH, DISCIPLES, AND SPREAD THE GLORIOUS WORD OF OUR KINGDOM'S REBIRTH! LET ALL WHO HEAR IT SUBMIT OR BE SLAUGHTERED!
  24. I AM EXCITEEEEEEEEEEEED Hopefully I can buy it tomorrow after exams.
