  1. Thanks for posting this! With $10.00 I picked up 8 Thrilling Tales adventures for hopeful easy conversion into BRP/CoC (without Mythos) and 2 Imperial Age supplements for background material for Cthulhu by Gaslight. (The Mars stuff tempted me but I am going to wait for BRP Interplanetary before I buy any of that.)
  2. Really looking forward to this one!
  3. At drivethrurpg right now for $1.00, you can get Zeppelin Adventures from Adamant Entertainment. It is in their Thrilling Tales line of supplements. It is d20 but again it is only one dollar for GM's Day. See: http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product_info.php?cPath=3996&products_id=19932&it=1
  4. Understood. I guess this is a hangover from reading on Yog Sothoth about the "Secrets of ...." books. Quite a few posters there have noted that there is not an effort to mention things already developed in other scenarios within the area covered by the Secrets book. What I was trying to convey is that an appendix that did allow the use of the straight historical scenarios within CoC would be good and give the book a bigger appeal.
  5. Swashbuckling France Sourcebook. From The Three Musketeers through The Scarlet Pimpernel. Set up a bit like BRP Rome; some background information, a highlight rules for handling such adventures, and a few scenarios to support them. A small section within the Swashbuckling France book that referred to the work already done on Clark Ashton Smith's Averoigne for Cthulhu Dark Ages (within Worlds of Cthulhu magazine) and Val-du-Loup for BRP would be a great addition. It would allow Keepers to tie the already-developed for CoC/BRP adventures/themes to those within the new sourcebook as well as provide a connection between CoC and the larger BRP system. (The upcoming Strange Aeons II as well as recently released Cthulhu Invictus show that many CoC players are willing to expand out of the 1920s into other historical eras for play and thus should be willing to come over to the larger BRP system.)

I am would also be up for a trade for Gold Rush Games Usagi Yojimbo RPG or GRG UY Monsters supplement. If interested, send me a PM. (Due to the intricacies of the post office, I'd like to keep the trades to the US only.)
  7. Around that time they started putting up information about Cthulhu Invictus which eventually led to a big sale in either September or October on all Chaosium products.
  8. The movie The Burrowers (2008) might be the basis on a game of Aces High. I got the film off of Netflix (in US)
  9. I see this as exactly what is needed. Fantasy rules, Science Fiction rules, and Historical rules should be seperate volumes. I'd buy the historical rules in a heartbeat and I suspect quite a few players of Call of Cthulhu who like myself have come over here feel the same way. The other settings do not interest me at this time but there maybe Fantasy players who want nothing to do with say the 1920s. For instance, Aces High as way to get to Wild West Cthulhu appeals to me but I don't know if I'll plunk for it as I need to get the main BRP book too. Supplements should be sold the same way. All Fantasy adventures in one volume; all Science Fiction in another; Historical in another. If I am not interested in Fantasy or Science Fiction, do I really want to buy a volume for one Aces High adventure and maybe a Horror adventure? (A bit of an idea of what the heck these are about on the product description would be nice too.) For Historical, make sure that players of Call of Cthulhu know about them and make sure that they can be easily used by people who know BRP primarily through CoC. Many CoC keepers would buy them to have some non-Mythos adventures to run between Mythos investigations. For instance, I think a BRP supplement of 1920s and 1930s Private Eye adventures would really sell as it could be plugged into classic Call of Cthulhu games; something similar for the Victorian times (safari adventure, Northwest Frontier adventure, Amazon adventure, classic ghost story, etc.) would do the same for Cthulhu by Gaslight. For Fantasy supplements make sure they're stated so that they can be used with other Fantasy systems such as AD&D-- same with Science Fiction-- to pull in people from those systems.
  10. This is great. Thank you so much! The 3rd edition has stuff converted from 2nd edition? Is the "Burned Bush Wells" module included? I don't have that one but it looks good. Reminds me of Spaghetti Western I saw with Klaus Kinksi that took place in the dead of winter. If that is in there, it would be worth getting the 3rd edition book.
  11. That would be great! The help is appreciated.
  12. I have the 2nd edition and modules that were printed to support it. A conversion system would be very much appreciated. There is a lot of material that can be pulled out of Boot Hill for use with BRP.
  13. Conversion of skills from one system to the other is pretty straight forward. Conversion of the basic attributes is the puzzler. For example, Boot Hill's Strength is a combination of CoC's Strength and Size.
  14. I am aware of Aces High and see picking it up in the future. Does anyone have both Aces High and the Western setup in Worlds of Cthulhu magazines? WoC (and Cthulhu by Gaslight) is my current basis for Six-Gun Cthulhu. Does Aces High work better for shifting CoC into the times of the Wild West? Anyway, I still need a way to get the modules I have from Boot Hill into BRP format for either use in Call of Cthulhu or Aces High. There are some specific adventures I want to take from the Boot Hill modules and use. Hence the need to covert.
  15. Hi: Bit of an introduction. Used to play quite a few RPGs when in high school and university, got out of it for "real life", and now after 15+ years am coming back to it. The game that has brought me back is Call of Cthulhu. I have played quite a few games and it has me really excited to game again. Recently, for a reunion get-together with the guys I used to game with in high school, I ran a CoC game. Picking up the rules for CoC went great. Even after so many years, we found the rules really easy to pick up. Picking up the 1920s did not go so well. There were so many questions on their part of "Is this right for the 1920s?" that it slowed things down (which was not helpful for a weekend get together which had to see the game done by Sunday afternoon). So for the next get together I want to run a Western. Everyone has seen a Western and so slipping into the time period should be much easier. Hence the desire to tie Boot Hill to Call of Cthulhu/BRP. Googling for Westerns and Call of Cthulhu led me to BRP Central. And so here I am. The Help Needed: I want to use some materials I have from TSR's Boot Hill (2nd edition) and mesh them with some material I have for Call of Cthulhu. Does anyone have a conversion system for getting the Boot Hill material into CoC/BRP format? The biggest hiccup I see is getting the NPCs in Boot Hill into the BRP system. This has me quite stumped. With the NPCs converted I do not see any reason why I can not run the Boot Hill modules as they are. Any help would be truly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
