Mordante
I've just finished reading the rulebook and have left with the question what does a Heroquest look like/what actually happens? I hope you can help me. 1
David Scott
There's many answers to this. @Jeff has often written on the subject and so you might find the following posts helpful: https://wellofdaliath.chaosium.com/heroquest-what-is-it/ https://wellofdaliath.chaosium.com/heroquesting-101/ https://wellofdaliath.chaosium.com/heroquesting-102/ https://wellofdaliath.chaosium.com/heroquesting-context/ https://wellofdaliath.chaosium.com/heroquesting-contexts/ https://wellofdaliath.chaosium.com/heroquesting-lexicon/ You can search for more here: https://wellofdaliath.chaosium.com/tag/rqg-heroquesting/ As for how does it look, that too can vary from looking like a slightly altered view of the real world (visible spirits, different colours, visible auras, etc) to a fantastical or mythical landscape. 2 1 Quote ----- Search the Glorantha Resource Site: https://wellofdaliath.chaosium.com. soltakss
For me, it can vary depending on the HeroQuestor. If you have seen dream sequences in TV shows or films, they sometimes have a fisheye lens effect, where someone is shown but the surroundings are blurred. That is how I see HeroQuests. You skip the boring bits of life on a HeroQuest, so if you travel from Boldhome to Pavis on a HeroQuest you miss out all the boring riding, camping stuff and go straight to the meeting friends/foes, then reach Pavis. There was a film about someone who had a magical remote control that fast forwarded through the boring bits, that is just like a HeroQuest. 1 Quote Simon Phipp - Caldmore Chameleon - Wallowing in my elitism since 1982. Rodney Dangerduck
Rules for Hero Quests are coming. They have been for 40 years. They may arrive before the final Game of Thrones book. Or possibly not. 1

Not quite true, rules for heroquests along with complete quests arrived with The Sartar Campaign for heroquest (an epic descent into the Underworld) and heroquest glorantha (an rescue a goddess). While not for RQ they are easily adaptable and available on the second hand market (or new from amazon). 4 Quote ----- Search the Glorantha Resource Site: https://wellofdaliath.chaosium.com. And I keep reminding people that Mongoose had 2 publications with HQ rules etc in it, including about 30 pages of examples for some of the primary cults... When Chaosium finally publish the official rules, there will be no need to look for other rules and this debate will be finally over after long years.
