Daybreak Tomorrow only smaller.

I couldn’t help noticing how much this article (http://www.mercurynews.com/centralcoast/ci_12115324) matches the opening of Daybreak Tomorrow. Only now you have to imaging a larger area without intermittent landlines functioning – a situation with absolutely no reliable information about the problem.

Rubble and Ruin is getting better!

Rubble and Ruin is getting better! I can say this because I am getting help where I need it the most. Puck from this forum has agreed to contribute some artwork – and it is great! (At least, I like it.) He has captured my image of rubble and ruin – wasted and formless scraps of our world inhabited by rough and tumble individuals. And he thinks he can get me a laser tank for the Bestiary! Maybe it’s just me, or maybe it is the fact that I am writing up “my game” but any game with robotic la

Album & reviews!

The album software move is almost done. I'll add some random pictures from the albums to the front page, and ease the viewing of the albums, but that will be it for now. The Reviews for Chaosium BRP have been improved with links for the authors and the products in the description. I'll will also add links to thread discussions when I have agreed with myself where they shoudl be. The finished products have so been removed fromt he frontpage, and replaced with links to the review section.

Another surge of activity

I'm currently experiencing another surge of activity dealing with BRP Central. I've had a lazy period for a while, but have recently gone into a more active modus. I've updated the forum software and all the add-ons, and is at the moment reorganizing the subforums (yet again...). As the spammers have started to visit our site too, I'll be taking some measures against that promptly. No more shoes or russian porn! Cheers!

Inspirations

I’ve got the first three chapters out to two play-testers! I thought people might be interested in this – on the inside front cover of the monograph I have a small section called inspirations. Inspirations There are many different forms of post apocalyptic stories each with their own flavor. Rubble and Ruin focuses on only one vision of the future – the following stories most closely capture the feel of the Rubble and Ruin world: A Boy and His Dog (Film: 1975) or the original story by

Nearly robbed!

Tonight, travelling home from the city center, I had two encounters! First, an aggressive narcotics dealer, who followed after me and whom I had to give a good push to get away from me. 2 minutes later, a gang of four who most likely wanted to rob me, who I luckily convinced to move along. First time I have ever experienced something like this in Oslo. I think I deserve a tick in spot, streetwise and unarmed combat (for successfull posing!). Tomorrow, some REAL gaming. :be

So Much to Do, So Little Time ...

Hiya All I'm looking at what I want to do RPG-wise and I know I haven't time to do anywhere near as much as I'd like. Close to home, I have a RQ Campaign set in Third Age Pavis/Prax that is in danger of stalling unless I can find something to inspire me. I am working on an article for the Birchbark Chronicles for Mythic Russia that I haven't looked at for a couple of months. A long-term project is the mapping of Prax/The Holy Country/Dagori Inkarth for an extended game of Dragon

Right Word Now

So, another Sunday, another full day for Roleplaying! Today I was gaming, RuneQuest/BRP in 2nd Age Glorantha. We have been playing the Blood of Orlanth campaign, and today the group was trying to stop a ceremony that would channel the energy of a storm into the world dragon project. The two most memorable happenings of todays session was the following: Tarkan, a EWF desserter working undercover was standing judge over a man who refused to split the tongues of his children. Boring Blog

I hate it when I make a character that has useless skills. I’m not talking about skills that I failed to make relevant, but rather skills that had no chance of ever coming up in play –particularly when the skill is one that the GM doesn’t believe in. To combat this problem in my own games, I always supply the players with a skill list during character generation that includes “every skill I will call for, unless the action is driven by a player”. By this I mean that left to my own devices, th

Current gaming

Long time no blog! My group currently have 3 settings running, with 3 different GMs. The first is 2nd Age Glorantha with BRP rules. I'm gaming this setting, and we are currently running the Blood of Orlanth campaign, which have proved to be quite fun. We are also still playing Cthulhu Rising (sci.fi cthulhu), where my android character was chasing aliens last session. Last, we have just startet up with the Masks of Nyarlathotep-campaign for classic cthulhu. Weekly gaming has been the norm.

Dog Blog

Dude, you wrote 1,000 words on normal dogs – are you some sort of dog-freak? Not really, I don’t even own a dog. But I have been running a reasonable realist PA game since the dawn of time (think more like ‘Alas Babylon’ and less like ‘Mad Max’), and one thing that has come out of thinking about the setting is that dogs would regain their old place as mans best friend. In my game the world slowly fell into dysfunction over about 15 years (long back-story for this) and then the game is set

It’s a cool feature, someone aught to use it…

Hello, If anyone happens to read this, I thought I would use the blog-space to explain what I am doing in the download section. I have run a particular Post-Apocalyptic game reasonably regularly since about 1981. This is not to say I have run one continuous game, but rather I have run countless different campaigns with different mechanics and different groups of players but always keeping certain core elements of the world that I would adapt and (hopefully) improve over time. This has left

Alastor's Skull Inn

Yesterday I gamed a session of BRP/MRQ, that is, BRP with the MRQ skill list and some few other MRQ rules to make it compatible. Playtested the scenario that I submitted for the adventure contest, and we had quite a blast. I did however notice a lot of small errors in the text (the editing was a bit rushed, as I was going to Continuum). Emailed Dustin, and thankfully they'll let me send in an edited version of it. So today I'll be editing again! SGL.
