  1. Well done Ben. This is great news. Looking forward to seeing a new lease of life and new energy in MW and BRP in general.
  2. This is like lead Zeppelin getting back together , I mean wow. I loved 5th edition COC. Heaven knows how many books I own, maybe 35-40 for that game and then there's all the PDFs. but I'm still deciding what I think of the changes in 7th ed. Does this mean we'll get some more MW releases? There coming out at a rate of one a year at the moment. I wish them well.
  3. Out by GENCON. I think I'm going to lie down now. So, the long wait is over. And with intentional irony... Which book's coming out after The chronicler's Companion?
  4. I totally agree with Mankcam your hard work is really appreciated. I always loved Elric and in some ways MW is better because I can still play Elric with it, as I have all the Elric books, (and Moorcock's published stories), and MW can function as a sort of rules revision. Added to that I can play in the Southern reaches in a much more generic feel RQ3/BRP type game. So it's winning all round for me. Thanks Ben!
  5. It's a kick starter project. I hope it gets off the ground. I'll find out in a month or so. Thanks Pete. That's great "Muy bien. Gracias".
  6. Lucky Italians. I'm English and of course have the book in my mother tongue. I live however in Spain, (my wife being Spanish, my job being okay and the weather being nicer, actually I rather miss Blighty). I'd love a version of this game in Spanish. I've several Spanish friends who have expressed an interest in RPG and doing it in their first language would be great, (not all of my Spanish friends can even speak English). RQ3 was a popular game for years over here and I'm sure RQ6 would find a receptive market. Are there any plans for other translations to other languages?
  7. Thanks for the link Sdavies2720. This looks good!
  8. That's true, but should it be random, or descriptive? Again I think that's personal taste.
  9. Mankam. In fairness I was referring to the character generation. Both systems run pretty smoothly after that. I've always found to hit locations fiddly and slow the game down, but as you say that's personal taste.
  10. I've notice that Chaosium have put out several other books in the passed week. I suppose that's the reason the PDF hasn't gone up for sale yet. Hopefully It'll be downloading onto our hard drives any day soon. I've already pre-ordered my hard copy from a UK game shop I've used for years. I live in Spain now, so mine will have to take a second journey to join my RPG collection. It could be a while.
  11. It's true MW is actually pretty old stuff. There's nothing new there. BUT it works and so much better than RQ111 ever did. Its more heroic and beautifully smooth in its game mechanics. Being newer doesn't make other games better. It just gives the designers less time to iron out the snags.
  12. Yeah! no PDF available. As a Brit we have to wait for the hard copy to get over here before the fun begins, which usually takes a couple of weeks. I do hope there'll be a PDF up before then, or Ill be late for the party.
  13. Will Horsechester come out in PDF format as well? Do All Monographs get released in both formats?
  14. Any new news on a potential release date? The suspense it killing me.
  15. I think that you’ll find that damage is generally higher in BRP/MW than in RRQ6 across the board and not just with dragons, and large monsters. For example Chainmail absorbs 7 points of damage in RQ6 and 1d8+1 in MW which is an average of 5.5. A scimitar does 1d6+2 damage in BRP and 1d8 in RQ6. With a combined STR+ SIZ score of 30 in BRP/MW your damage bonus is +1d4 and in RQ6 it’s +1d2. Perhaps the real balancing aspect of RQ6 is the way hit points are governed with each body part only having a few each, whereas In BRP/ you get a hit point pool, which if heroically played can be quite high. So overall I think the two systems workout about the same with perhaps the BRP/MW system being very slightly more dangerous. However generally if my players get attacked by dragons in either game, we end up writing out new ones.
  16. Yes. I agree. We've waited along time for this release. A few more days won't make much difference and getting the quality right is so important.
  17. Wonderful news! I'm getting the PDF and the book. So I've got both to look forward to.
  18. I really do hope they release AS soon. We really have waited a long time for this. It's like waiting for a bus in the rain, it can never come soon enough.
  19. I can't believe it's still not out there. I mean getting on to RPG now would really open MW up to a bigger audience. If they don't know it exists they aren't going to buy it.
  20. Done that. Basically everything announced so far I want to buy. I know the rules from Stormbringer, so maybe I'm biased, but I think they're really easy to understand, work well and feel deep enough to cover almost any situation. For me RQ6, (which is great and I also play it), requires all of my players to really know the rules well to make it work. MW allows me to introduce new players, who may be casual gamers, easily to the game, while keeping the more regular players happy.
  21. Not out by GenCon? Oh dear! Is that no product out by GenCon or no tree version out by Gencon? In terms of quality I don't want you to rush either, but Halod the huntsman from the hamlet of Hanstal south of Pennywood thinks that tomorrow would be a wonderful release date. (I'll keep him busy with some RQ3 spells).
  22. Does MW actually have a facebook page? The Wikipedia site for Chaosium doesn't appear to be up dated either. It says nothing about MW. Well I'm off to write a glowing MW review for my local RPG shop's web page. Which reminds me MW still isn't available on Drive thru or RPG now. Okay I've already got my PDF off the Chaosium site, (I've got the hard copy too), but selling through sites like those would be rather like an advertisement. I mean how many non BRP or Cuthulhu players visit the Chaosium web page? I guess many more visit on line RPG electronic stores. Anyway I think action is the answer, we don't want Magic world to be the best kept secret in role play for 2013.
  23. Wonderful Thanks. It's just what I was looking for.
  24. I wasn't aware that it was a question of RQ verses MW! Personally I just love the Stormbringer combat system. It's just so fluid without those blocky hit tables to slow down the game, and at least we’ve got proper hit points and weapons that can do more damage than the armour points of our adversaries. Otherwise it could all get really annoying couldn’t it, (ha, ha, ha). Actually I also love RQ, but couldn't resist a dig.
