Minor glitch, that came to my attention only today (roughly 4 years late):
p.172, left column:QuoteSerternas the Bright, Count and High Priest of Sun County: The fourth ruler of Sun County since its founding, Serternas became Count in 1612. ...
Shouldn't that be:
"Serternas the Bright, Count and High Priest of Sun Dome County:"
and
"The fourth ruler of Sun Dome County since its founding,"At least for me it was a bit confusing, when reading this while cross-checking the Sun County timeline, because at the same time Solanthos Ironpike became the ruler of Sun County.

All four books, page ii (copyright page)(PDF as well as printed version):QuoteEDITORIAL CONSULTING AND ADDITIONAL CONTRIBUTIONS: Michael O’Brien,
Nick Brooke, Jean-Christophe Cubertafon, Jonathan Geere, Martin Helsden, David Larkins, James Lowder, Rick
Meints, Diana Probst, Neil Robinson, David Scott, and Gianni Vacca(red emphasis mine)I may be completely wrong, and this is indeed a completely different person, but my immediate guess would be, that this is Martin Helsdon aka @M Helsdon, the author of Armies and Enemies of Dragon Pass. -

@MOB, Is this a print product or Jonstown Compendium?
Either way, I'm gettin' me some a that. I just want to know if I should set aside some cash for the UPS guy.
9 hours ago, MOB said:Yes, PDF release on Dec 10. As always, if you buy the PDF from Chaosium.com you get that amount off the cost of the physical product when it is out next year.
This is a Chaosium product obviously.

And it's now clearly visible on the Northern Sartar Map from the new RuneQuest Starter Set:

Book 3, Section 71 (also in the online version of the Soloquest):Quote... Not only do you have fewer Rune points (3 Rune points compared to 24 total magic points) but they cannot be recovered without committed sacrifice and prayer. The Pregen Folio for Vasana as well as her online character sheet for the online version of the Soloquest have 25 Magic Points marked.- 1

Book 1, p.6, right column, second paragraph:QuoteWith an increased chance of 30%, Sven rolls
confidently, and fails with a roll of 89. His argument is
unconvincing and he does achieve his desired goal. ...I guess, the last sentence should read: "His argument is unconvincing and he does not achieve his desired goal."- 1

Sadly it seems, that this will never happen ... 😭

Only Chaosium knows for sure (and maybe not even THEY know for-really-sure (they are, after all, not the Orderium!)).
I tend to think it will not (or at least, not for a long time (I believe "not currently planned" is the likely language)), because:- this new product is entirely different, and unrelated; I think it uses the name as merely a sort of cognoscenti's nod to the old historical product
- said new product (with old name) would be entirely too confusing, if Chaosium then produced another QW product with an incompatible mechanic
- the original RQ Questworld was one of the Stretch Goals for the RQClassic Kickstarter. In fact, it was the *only* Stretch Goal that failed to fund; that's got to weigh heavily as a bottom-line consideration.
But maybe time will prove me wrong. Or maybe Somebody Official will come along with actual facts.
You should keep in mind, that there is difference between the names of the old and the new product (albeit only a small one):
- old: RuneQuest Questworld
- new: QuestWords (sic!)
But yes, the risk of confusing these products would be high nevertheless ...

It's in the Guide though, so it's probably more a case of "less-used" than "obsolete and deprecated"?
Or (if I understood Jeff correctly above) maybe it is more, that these terms are not so much used in the Sartar/Dragon Pass area, but maybe are used more in other areas like Prax? And that most of the current RuneQuest publications concentrate heavily on the Sartar/Dragon Pass area?

I read that in the Sartar Rising campaign the identity of the Argrath was not pre-defined. Argrath could be a number of different NPCs or even one of the player characters. Will the upcoming RQ campaign adopt a similar approach? Or it is decided that Argrath is White Bull? The RQG corebook seems to suggest the latter.
...
Basically I would use the RQG approach, because that's probably, what will be the official approach used in the upcoming RQ Campaign book (not sure, if this is the right title. It's the RQ equivalent to Pendragon's Boy King Campaign book).
BUT:
Just because the GM knows, who Argrath is, doesn't mean, that the PCs or even the NPCs know it too. Could well be, that there are other people, who are deemed to be the Argrath. Or who even think themselves to be the Argrath. Or who are imposters. So the GM knows, what the official history will be. But nobody in Glorantha knows it in the moment, when it happens. History is written down later always. And that's just, if you follow the canonical line of history. YGMV, so feal free to create your own history ...

One love story, which comes immediately to my mind, is the story of Sarotar and Arkillia:
QuoteSaronil and the Sad Lady
This famed ballad about Sarotar son of Saronil and his love Arkillia, an Esrolian noblewoman, describes events circa 1540 to 1546. Conflicting vows of love and duty lead to Sarotar’s murder by Arkillia’s other suitors. The ballad is sometimes combined with either the mournful Song of Marlesta the Dancer, the daughter of tragic couple, or with the Song of Vengeance, which details the bloody vengeance taken by Sarotar’s brother and cousin upon his murderers. The story is also a popular play in the Holy Country and contrasts the fierce loyalty of the Sartarites with the manipulative schemes of the Esrolians. In all versions, Arkillia is portrayed as the tragic victim of events.

Rick confirmed in another thread, that the RuneQuest Starter Set has been printed in China:
On 8/20/2021 at 5:45 AM, Rick Meints said:The Red Book of Magic was printed in Poland, and the Starter set was printed in China. Getting each of those two products into our other global warehouses poses different challenges, and different delays. What happens to one doesn't necessarily apply to the other. In the end, we will start selling each product as soon as we feel we are able.
but see the today's entry from the blog on Chaosium's web site:
https://www.chaosium.com/blogrunequest-starter-set-design-diary-14-unboxing-while-we-wait/
QuoteWe wish we could say we had a release date. The RuneQuest Starter Set is now in four of our five Chaosium fulfilment warehouses (US, EU, AUS, CAN) but we're still waiting to get it into the last – UK. The shipment to the UK is on the way, but the latest advice is it may take another 5-14 days to arrive, depending on UK customs and truck driver availability at the destination.

I'd think you'd need to keep the branch alive... That may mean grafting it onto a smaller potted plant (at that size, the branch is likely a twig 🙄 ) and hauling the whole thing around -- maybe a bonsai plant with a twig grafted onto it.
Judge the health of the dryad by the health of the branch?

Personally, I play it that the lineage chart was wrong (the two names just got switched in position) - Kangharl was the king, Korlmhy a brother taken hostage by the Lunars. In that way everything aligns with SKoH and GS.
Do I miss something here? In my version of the Gamemaster Adventures book in the family tree on p.21 Kangharl as well as Kolmhy are marked as Tribal (King 1615-1625). As the Taraling are a clan in the Colymar tribe, this can mean Tribal King of the Colymar only. As only one of them can be Tribal King, this has to be a mistake.
In the Colymar Kings List on p.12, only Kangharl is mentioned as a Colymar king.
If mentioned in the text, the Name Korlmhy references Korlmhy the Priest, Kangharl's Grandfather, always. In the family tree on p.21 this grandfather is listed as Kolmhy the Priest ...
The name Kolmhy does not appear at all in the text of the book.
Nothing in Jeff's notes on Facebook hints at, that Kangharl and Korlmhy are not the same person (even the nickname 'Blackmor' is used for Korlmhy in these notes). So from my point of view Korlmhy and Kangharl are the same person. The only place, where assumption seems to be contradicted, is the family tree on p.21 of the Gamemaster Adventures book. Given that this family contains several more issue with the used names, I would say, that this family tree is not correct.
@Scotty: Definitely this is worth a clarification on the Q&A page for the Gamemaster Adventures book in the Well of Deliath ... or maybe even a new version of the PDF?

@MOBShort question: I'm getting notifications already, if new products are available (normally in PDF format). So wouldn't I get a notification for the new RuneQuest Starter Set already, or do I have to register under above link anyway?

I can confirm, that I see the same omissions in my physical version of The Glorantha Sourcebook, whereas the PDF version contains the full text as cited above by @AndrewTBP.
Taking a closer look this seems to be a small formatting issue in the printed version of The Glorantha Sourcebook. The text columns below the map are formatted a bit differently clearly in the first case ...

Sorry I'm new to RQ Roleplaying in Glorantha (just purchased all the currently available books including the starter set) and would like to know what new books are planned? I hear mention of a cults book and saw one of the Chaosium team mention Pavis and some Jonstown based scenarios. Would someone kindly let me know which books/adventures are planned? Appreciate details and exact release dates may not be available but any information would be appreciated. Thanks.
To my knowledge the next planned books/adventures are

The Starter Set.
In fact this is a box containing several booklets, and one of them contains several Jonstown based adventures. For more details see the Starter Set Design Diary in the Chaosium blog.
This one is not only planned, it's already done and on its way to the warehouses ... -
God and Goddesses of Glorantha (not sure, if this is still the official title ...)
This book contains many, many cult descriptions for all the important Gods and Goddesses of Glorantha. -
The Sartar Homeland Box
A detailed description of Sartar and its denizens.
Regarding the latter two it is not quite clear, which will be released first. Depends on the usual production criteria like layout done, illustrations complete, etc. The original plan was, that both will be available until end of this year (at least in PDF format). But as always, plans may change ...
Beyond this everything is pure speculation. An updated Pavis/Big Rubble book is in the works. Several homeland boxes have been mentioned (Grazlands, Tarsh, Esrolia). Many other things. But the state of these works is not clear, so no given release time frames are available. They will be done, when their done ...

Is this meant as an instance of YGWV? The illustrations I know have a six-armed goddess. There is a reference to a six-armed goddess wrestling Sheng, emerging two hands short, in Argrath Saga.
...
I think this (4-armed Yara Aranis) stems from the nearly famous cover picture of the Runequest III Gods of Glorantha box, where she is shown with four arms, and which has been used in the Glorantha Sourcebook as well as in the Guide to Glorantha (Vol 2, p.741). But description for this picture in the Guide reads:
QuoteYara Aranis
The Six-Limbed Goddess of the Reaching Moon first fought against Argrath as the guardian of the Lunar borders and later served him during the Hero Wars as the Six-Limbed goddess of Saird.HeroQuest Glorantha uses the same picture too, and the text description of the picture is the same also, but additionally it says
Quote...
This particular statue had two arms torn off during the Lunar Empire's conflict with Sheng Seleris and are thought to now be located somewhere in the Iron Forts of Kralorela. On the other hand the Prosopaedia entry in the Well of Deliath still uses the description from the Prosopaedia of the Runequest III Gods of Glorantha box:
QuoteShe is shown sitting cross-legged, with four arms, each of which holds a weapon or makes a gesture to destroy her foes.
So there are enough contradicting sources to make clear, where the confusion comes from ...
