  1. According to @Jeffthere will a detailed description of Boldhome in the Sartar book. I dont know if we will see it this fall or next year.

The group I am GMing has now had appr 25 scenarios played during one ”real” year and two Glorantha years. 80% of fights have been with other human (mostly Lunar but also Prax nomads and Greydogs from the Lismelder Clan. 10% have been with trolls (dark, great and trollkin), broos, Telmori, ducks, scorpion men and dragonewt. 10% have been with different ”monsters” like Dream Dragons, Ghosts, Vampires, Kharshtkids and other, mostly Chaotic, monsters. They have interacted with dwarves/Mostali, elves/Aldryami and Beast People. The ”best” enemies are the ones you meet many times. My PCs are hunted by Prince Temertain, King Kangharl, the Lunar Vitch Ashangara and Governor Sor-Eel. And they are in s feud with the Greydogs.
  3. As there are no skill category categories a Passion of 100 is much more uncommon than a skill level of 100. There will be a lot of sword fighters with 100+ in skill than people with a 100 (or 100+) passion. So 100 in a Passion is "higher" than 100 in a skill.
  4. I would also recommend Magic World that is for sale for less than 3 USD on DriveThru at the moment. It includes a Bestiary of approximately 60 pages. It's not long but it's a lot of generic monsters and species that you dont think in the RQ Bestiary. It has Orcs, Tolkienesque Elves, Halflings, Manticores, Ghouls Skeletons and other undeads and a lot of other interesting stuff. The feel is more medieval than Bronze Age but it would definitely work together with Glorantha.   5. There is, as fas as I know, no Bestiary for Mythras. It is an excellent system (very close to RQ) but most sourcebooks is for our world in historic times. That means magic but no trolls, elves, orcs or monsters. Decide if you would like to play in Glorantha or not. If you use Glorantha you should use RQG Rules but ”steal” monsters (if you need to) from Mythras, BRP, Magic World, Call of Cthulhu and other systems with the same ”engine”. Its very easy to translate monsters and species between this systems. If you want orcs in Glorantha, use orcs in Glorantha (I would not. The strength of Glorantha is the mythology. In Tolkiens Middle-Earth you have a good back-story for orcs. Glorantha has its own back-stories for its different species. Mythras is a very good generic system. But actually lacks good fantasy settings and/or a large Bestiary. But RQG can also be used as a generic system. The only things in the rules that may be difficult to use are the Runes.
  6. There is a lot of stuff in the pipeline and the mentioned GMs guide is a priority that we will see late this year or (probably) 2024. That include stuff we NEED. I dont see why Chaosium cant publish a second bestiary at some point. But we first need the Cults books, the GMs Guide, the Sartar Book, books about Prax, Tarsh, the Holy Country, Sorcery/Malkionism/Invisible God, Heroquests and the Great Argrath Campaign. So the queue is long 😉 But Anaxials Manifest mentioned above is a good start to get more monsters.
  7. I dont allow it. If you have Hate Lunar 100 your whole existance is about killing Lunars and destroying the Lunar Empire. You may even destroy the World and your own Gods to do it. (If you could, looking at you Argie).
  8. There are many answers: The current edition of Runequest is not a generic RPG. A generic RPG needs Orcs, Goblins and Hobgoblins and a lot of other species because a GM may want to make them a part of their setting. I am not sure if most GMs use all monsters and species in their Bestiaries. Their is no orcs or goblins in Glorantha so you dont need them. The Bestiary seems to lack Pamaltelan monsters and species. You dont need those until there is a Pamaltelan sourcebook. That probably will include those. Pamaltela is not the only region in Glorantha with unique monsters. I guess that future sourcebooks for Krarorela, Pent and the West will include their unique monsters. Spirits and Chaos beings are very flexible. It is easy to see that the spirit category can include dozens of different variants that would have their own heading in other RPGs.
  9. Jason (I think) made a post in December where he promised a lot of new Glorantha books in the "nearest months" so I hope that you are wrong. But wouldn't bet against you.
  10. If you say so. But didn't Jason (or was it someone else at Chaosium) that recently wrote that you lost some months when you went from 2+1 to 10 books. But I may have misunderstood. And hindsight is hindsight. All the best!
  11. The mistake Chaosium did was to try to fit it in 2-3 books until last fall. If they hade decided on a ten book plan 3-4 years ago some of them would already been published.
  12. They will not all have the same length. I guess that Lightbringer/Storm will be the longest book and Sea the shortest. I actually like Lightbringer book as it will be a good option for players that wants to learn more about the most common PC cults. As a GM I want em all. But I would certainly recommend my players to buy the Ligthbringer book. My current group is Vinga, Orlanth Thunderous, Odayla, Issaries and Humakt. With sidekicks (NPCs that follow the group) worshipping Ernalda, Argan Argar, Lanbril and Yelm.
  13. The basics is actually the core rules. They give you what you need to create PCs and enemies for the most important cults. If you run a Sartar- or Prax-based campaign you can also have use of the Lightbringer and Earth books, but you dont NEED it. The basics are actually already out there. You can always add on later. Buy the Sky/Fire book if you have PCs that worships Yelmalio or Yelm. Buy the Darkness book if you have PCs that are troll or if they interact a lot with them. Buy the Shaman book if you have a shaman or Hsunchen in your party. Buy the Lunar book if you have a Lunar group or wants to create many Lunar NPCs from different cults.
  14. I think Storm/Lightbringer and Earth is most important to get out early as nearly all common PC cults are there. But I am actually most excited to read the Shaman book as I get it will have the most new information. I am also eager to read the Lunar book with cults like Hon-Eel and Jakaleel that never have been officially described before.
  15. I would say that most information in the RQ3 books are canon. But not written in stone.
  16. If gods count probably Uleria. If non-gods maybe Gonn Orta, Androgeus or Isidilian. At least in and around Dragon Pass. The lore of the far west, far east or Pamaltela is limited.
  17. The nick-name would probably survivw some deaths and resurrections. Its hard for most people to keep track on him.
  18. Interesting thread. My group has played for a year (two years in Glorantha) and have never actually met Mostali or Aldryami. They have fought trolls, broos, dragonewts, newtlings and different chaos monsters. And interacted with ducks, Agimori and beast men. I describe Mostali and Aldryami like most people living in the bronze or dark ages would describe such beings.
  19. Mastery is one of Orlanths Rune but a Rune without any rules. Some of my Orlanthi players have asked me about it. I suspect that the Rune will be described more in the Cults Books and/or hero questing rules. How does the rest of you treat the Rune?
  20. Is the White Bull Society a sort of spirit cult or something else?
  21. I could definitely see a "house rule" where someone could "boost" a spirit spell by spending 1 Mp per extra minute. Like a cheaper but less powerful extension. And it wouldn't in any way change the game balance.
  22. A curse is probably something that a lot of magicians can use. If it is a shaman it probably involves a spirit. But a wizard or a rune priest would probably as well being able to curse someone. I think that the "spirits of reprisal" is a king of curse on those who breaks the laws of their cult/gods. I don´t think curses is a magic system by itself. But something broader, like healing.
  23. My PCs are in Pavis and will help Garrath with bringing the Cradle down to the Sea in our next session (Sea season 1621). They have just helped Garrath perform a short Lightbringers Quest to help Gonn Orta bring a baby to the world. They didn't participate in the LBQ itself but supported the hero quest and guarded the bodies when they were away. The cradle is a great scenario but it is sooo looong with a lot of fighting. My players like roleplaying but is not huge fans of spending whole sessions just running battles. Have anyone tried running the Cradle in different ways than the "official" one? I have read how Andrew Logan Montgomery did it on his blog. But I would be glad if anyone else had any suggestions. The start of the scenario will be different as the players already know Garrath and is aware of the giant baby.
  24. I had a group of PCs from the Six Seasons in Sartar campaign doing a LBQ. They brought the Black Stag (the clan wyter) along as Ginna Jar.
