  1. Great solution. Is there a map showing the second area?
  2. A question. In Six Seasons, how would the Haraborn suffer a raid? The terrain/location, the fortified palisade. I could not see it happening.
  3. In the Harn community, when fanon is being produced and the writer wants to add some top art, usually from the main setting artist, they put out a call for art sponsorship to help with the burden. We get a thank you on the credits page. Its all done via paypal to the artist direct.
  4. The fault was mine. I got the battle names mixed up.
  5. Thanks everyone. My confusion started with Nicks Dangerford. But thanks for clearing it up.
  6. Noob here, so I may have missed something. I am reading two conflicting locations for (I think it’s called) The Battle of Queens. The rule book and others has it at the Runegate area. The Starter box has it at Dangerford. What am I missing? thanks
  7. Confused by this. The RAW rules have a divide by 5, which is already x2 HP from CoC. But there is a optional HP rule page 42, which suggests doubling HP. Is that on top of the raw system. Thanks
  8. Hi, I looked but could not find the game system summary from the appendix at the back of the book in pdf? In fact all the appendix would be great. Thanks

  11. Hi, looking for some pre-generated PC characters for Pulp. I know there are some in Two Headed, but looking for some laid out on a character sheet. I was looking at running an adventure from the book and just want to dive in without making characters. ‘Thanks
  12. I have not read all the answers, so sorry if already mentioned. But something I do in my Harn games, is to have non-repetitive dodge/parry option. Eg, shield block once only in a round, then you have to use a different option. The same for attacks. As Harn has a tactical advantage mechanic, for multiple actions. Weapon attack once, then pummel strike or kick or headbut etc.
  13. I was wondering what happened to you, I gamed the ink of your Dying Earth material. I especially appreciated the play test notes, as showing great inspiration. ps, I live in Darwin if you ever come this way.
  14. Hi Bill, I get the impression you read my post as opposed. Just in case wire’s are crossed. It was the same roll. Ref rolls the players perception, the same as player. Could be used for any roll where some element of doubt is possible. If the player failed and the refs secret roll failed, the ref can give false info. Ref failed but player succeeded, some version of the truth. Etc. The player only has half the idea if it is good or bad info.
  15. On the observation roll mechanism, I always liked the MegaTraveller way. Both roll, ref and player. There is a comparison system to both rolls. But for example if the player rolled a success, they have a vague idea they might be getting good info.
  16. Book one says or implies to not make rolls for narrative important events. And then pg 6 example, has the ref asking for a listen roll. For an event that is obviously important and part of his adventure design. The roll is superfluous and a beginner ref would be getting conflicting advice. My 2d
  17. Hi, Shawn and Peggy, just wondering how book two is progressing?
  18. Hi, my player (yes, small town blues, not many gamers and those that do - do D&D) has just asked if our next game can be Runequest. Currently doing a short Harn game, and as we have never gamed RQ before, he thought the transition from one crunchy game to the other would work better. So I have the QuickStart, but would we be better of waiting for the Starter set (not sure how long a wait)? We can wait, as I have also been looking at Trudvang Chronicles. Other question; with the QS, and only one player, he is going to have to play a core character and a couple of sidekicks. What characters would be the best choices? Thanks
  19. Like the gm tips for noobs. Need more of that from the veterans. Thanks for the synopsis.
  20. The setting (Xoth) is also in the Blade of the Iron Throne rpg. Great game with some poor layout. More deadly combat than RQ.
  21. Yea, I was forced/felt forced to have to go and buy it the other day, just for that content. Felt a bit ripped!
  22. I did read many years ago, that the layout and writing of many gaming modules, is to create a pleasant read for the GM. More like a novel, as it was understood by publishers that many adventures never make the gaming table. So the idea is to produce a warm fuzzy feeling for the GM, but as a resource at the table, totally inadequate. It’s something I have always looked at, as I read material. Few seem to obtain that bar, as I am forced to dissect, and take copious notes, then flick between to two. Cut out the fluff and just give me the bullet points. Thanks for your review.
  23. Thank you Paid. This game is on my wish list for this year, but I don’t have the time to catch all fixes. So a list of all the bugs to watch for is gold. I did not get to read any further, as I wanted to post this straight away. Hopefully there is a good list of these with page numbers to help out a noob to the rules. ‘Thanks.
  24. Is the Harvest Bride adventure available?
