  1. I'll have to look that up, maybe combine it with some source books from other systems. The Ultima Forsan setting for Savage Worlds has one as well called Macabre Ruthenia. The one for HeroQuest looks nice as well.
  2. I'd like to see something Slavic - Mythic Russia or something along those lines. Aaaaand.... I just looked up Mythic Russia and apparently it's already been done for HeroQuest.
  3. Popped in to the TDM site to check something and it's all shiny and new looking. Then I noticed the lower right corner of this page: http://thedesignmechanism.com/Mythic-Earth.php Of course, now I can't get They Might Be Giants out of my head.
  4. I've not heard of that before. I'll have to take a look at that product. It sounds interesting.
  5. If you remove the query string portion of the link and just have it point to the download page, they should work fine: https://basicroleplaying.org/files/file/594-runequest-6-renaissance-era-combat-stylespdf/

    PDF Prices

I'll let you know in a month as I have a link in my account right now that says it expires then. Plus another that has 3 downloads remaining.

    PDF Prices

There doesn't seem to be much reason behind it. Most titles are cheaper from Chaosium, but I've found some that were cheaper on DriveThru/Rpgnow. Not only that, but in some cases download links on Chaosium's site will expire after a certain number of downloads or time limit. I doubt they could enforce that same stipulation via a 3rd party site like DriveThru.
  8. Casting resurrection on this thread... I just returned from watching the new Dark Tower film. It only bears a superficial resemblance to the books, but I think that actually works in its favor to an extent. The setting of the movie would make a fantastic RPG setting - at least the Mid-World portion of it. The movie version of Mid-World felt like a cross between the settings of Deadlands and Fallout though not quite as over-the-top as either of those. Mostly just the general aesthetic of the place. I'd describe the movie as less epic fantasy and more sword-and-sorcery (six gun-and-sorcery?) I think for an RPG setting though you'd have to go more Lovecraftian and existential with the danger and not be so overt about having the Fellowship Ka-Tet going to save the universe.
  9. Just yesterday I was searching for horror-western games that aren't Deadlands. How serendipitous.
  10. Indeed. Their stated intention is to base it off of 1st and 2nd editions, though they have not yet given specifics. I think most people (in forums anyway) are hoping for something like 2nd edition mechanics with 1st edition setting. Very few people liked 3rd edition.
  11. http://cubicle7.co.uk/cubicle-7-and-games-workshop-announce-new-edition-of-warhammer-fantasy-roleplay/ I'm putting this here because it's a d100 game even if not BRP related. Most of you probably follow industry news closer than I, so this is not "news" to you. I just stumbled upon it yesterday though and could hardly contain my glee. Zweihander is a great system, but it just feels slightly lacking in some areas. I hope they can fill those voids with WFRP 4e. And honestly, I don't think WFRP does combat quite as well as Mythras, so I might end up running something in the Old World but using Mythras rules anyway.
  12. That would be interesting. I enjoy the Ubiquity system as used in Desolation. I've never played All for One though. If that comes out, I will have to look into it.
  13. This one is about to get covered. Of course, it's in English.
  14. The Wikipedia page for the Thirty Years War lists some fiction set in that period: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thirty_Years'_War#Fiction One is actually a Michael Moorcock novel, though most appear to be in German. Further down the page are some more historical sources.
  15. So, this showed up in my inbox today: http://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/217172/N1-Tomb-of-the-Mad-Wizard Surprised I'm the first one to mention it
  16. PALADIN: Warriors of Charlemagne https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/nocturnalmedia/paladin-warriors-of-charlemagne
  17. I've seen other systems where damage is done similarly to that - weapons tend to do a static damage number that is multiplied by your degrees of success.
  18. I wasn't in on the original KS (though I did back RMR), but I'd back the hardcover.
  19. Realms does look like a good fit. And thanks for pointing out the bundle. Two books for less than the price of one? Why not?
  20. I prefer d100 systems, but I play a variety including Savage Worlds, d20, AGE, many others (though not FATE or Apocalypse World). I mentioned the Companion because the description lists numerous things that seem like they'd be pretty good to drop into various other settings, like: "13 Suggestions for Keepers" — Common sense and sly applications to improve your games. "Occult Books" — More than 60 occult books and references summarized, often including titles of individual chapters. "Languages and Scripts" — A quick guide to when languages and language forms existed. "Arcane Antiquities" — More than 20 items and artifacts not gathered in the rulesbook, taken from stories and scenarios. Background, pertinent stats, mechanics. "Secret Cults" — Antagonists, allies, and scholars who know too much for safety or sanity. "Forensic Medicine" — the science and techniques of death investigation, past and present, in cogent detail. "Alien Races, Mysterious Places" — Two short chapters concerning special mysteries of the Mythos, from deep ones and voormis to Atlantis, Yuggoth, and beyond. So, in that sense I'm not necessarily looking to get deeply into the Mythos, just looking for ideas on how to add Cthulhu-like elements into settings that otherwise lack them.
  21. I've never actually played any CoC. Mainly what I'm seeking is a source of ideas for adding Lovecraft style horror elements to various settings and genres. Would the Keepers Companion be a good source for that? Or would I do just as well getting the latest CoC core book? Or is there a better source?
  22. When I first saw that name I almost asked if you intentionally named a space ship "graveyard", but I thought then that it must be in honor of Søren.
  23. Sigh, I saw someone posted it to /r/rpg and they sold out within a few minutes of that.
  24. I may withdraw my support for this Kickstarter. So far, the people behind it have left a very bad taste in my mouth. They claim to have carefully planned everything out in advance, but they've had to adjust pledge levels and even add a new pledge level once people started questioning certain aspects of the campaign, and they went live without any kind of example material available whatsoever. They've completely refused to even acknowledge a very simple question posed numerous times by myself and many others (until last night when they published an update saying they would acknowledge it later). Then they have a contingent of ardent supporters jumping in to take up the torch for them - as if they can't be bothered to actually talk to us. The more I write this out the more disgusted I get with the whole thing.
  25. This was my favorite game when I was younger. Kickstarter campaign begins tomorrow: http://topsecretnwo.com/
