  1. Really? My softcover version of RQ3 is falling apart and pages are loose. Can they rebind it? Is it cloth tape or something?
  2. Now that is funny! I never thought of that before, but it is there.
  3. That's cool, and I had the same thought process about air vehicles as well. I kind of thought that was what was intended, but just wanted to make sure. Thanks!
  4. I noticed on the vehicle table that for Air Vehicles that the vehicles Hit Point score is exactly the same as their SIZ score, whereas with all other vehicles on the list their HP score is different than their SIZ score. Was this intentional for air vehicles?
  5. hehe...yeah saw the numbers and was thinking of the TV series. I still stand by my statement that it would be cool though
  6. Anyone remember the animated movie Fire and Ice? That might cool to develop into a campaign.
  7. Bummer. Whenever I am going to write a long post, I usually do it in Notepad and then copy and paste.
  8. Well, I am really a fan of the paperback book format. It makes it difficult to read through. I want to thumb to the rules section, but they are buried in the text.
  9. That would be cool. :thumb: I remember watching that series as kid. I liked the ship and their guns.
  10. I completely understand. No worries. Thanks for being to so available to us fans here.
  11. Thanks Shaira! I knew there was some convoluted history involved with these two games.
  12. Certainly, and that's were I would start too. It's just that in this edition there are no examples or lists; just one sentence suggesting that GMs can develop their own if they are going down that road.
  13. There are rules for Radiation in the new BRP. Radiation is rated in POT based upon grades of radiation intensity. You match CON vs POT of radiation at intervals determined by radiation intensity level. If the CON vs POT is successful you avoid the effects for the period indicated by intensity. These rules are for realistic radation. It suggests that if you are allowing beneficial mutations from exposure (like Gamma World or others), then you might allow a POW x1 chance of the exposure giving a beneficial mutation. These beneficial mutations are left up to individual GMs to develop. There are no lists and such.
  14. I just picked up a used copy of Hero Wars: Roleplaying in Glorantha with some X-Mas cash. :thumb: It is like a regular paperback book by Issaries Inc. I am not familiar with HeroQuest or Hero Wars. Which game came first: Hero Wars or HeroQuest? Also, what's the name of the webpage that gives a very detailed history of RQ and it's spin-offs? I've seen it before, but I can't remember it for the life of me right now
  15. ROFLMAF!! Yeah, my first daughter's is the 21st and my second daughter's is the 23rd. Awfully crowded week for us.
  16. I am in the same boat: I am 40 and just had my second child. My first just turned 2 in December.
  17. This got buried in another thread, but I wanted to bring to your attention. This is concerning catergory modifiers and skill improvement: Quote: Originally Posted by Atgxtg Don't they still add to improvement rolls? That was probably their biggest impact . Yes and no. This edition uses the Experience Bonus which is half the Intelligence characteristic. If you have earned an experience check, then you roll and add your Experience Bonus to the roll. If the roll exceeds your current skill level, then you increase the skill by 1d6 or 3 percentiles. Under the Skill Improvement section, it doesn't provide an optional rule that utilizes the optional characteristic category modifiers rule. I think that this was probably just a mistake in not including this extension of the category modifier optional rule. Personally, I will be using the Skill Category Modifiers. Therefore, the skill category modifier for a particular skill will be added to an experience roll. Jason- Was this omitted for space reasons, or simply overlooked in compiling the book?
  18. Yeah, the mental image I had was of hitting the...well...er...family jewels
  19. Totally...I caught that inconsistency as well. I would just like to know I am missing something simple that would explain these different MOV attributes. See my others posts in the Q&A with author thread. I am not trying to nitpick, I would like to understand it so I can play with it.
  20. On another note related to vehicles: what is the relationship between Maneuver and Handling? So with the chariot example: would the net bonus/penalty to the Drive skill check be +10% (Maneuver = -5% and Handling = 15)? On p.216 it says to add/subtract the Handling modifer for the vehicle from the character's appropriate skill. On p. 265, it says that this modifier is applied to your character's skill. Why is Maneuver expressed as a percentage and Handling just a number? Why have two vehicle attributes that serve the same function? I am confuzzled I would surely appreciate some incite into these vehicle attributes and there applications. I know that I am probably missing something simple with this and the MOV attrubute for creatures and vehicles. I will probably look like an idiot when someone points out the simple and obvious answer. But, let's assume I am an idiot and use me as measuring stick for a newbie picking their first RPG book, and it happens to be the new BRP.
