  1. A pertinent question! 🙏 We are approaching the 3-month-Electrum anniversary... 😁
  2. And every year, on Presidents' Day weekend (mid-February), the Larry DiTillio Memorial Games Library (his collection of games, donated) comes out to play at DunDraCon... www.dundracon.com You can check out a game from the library to play! I've checked out a game every year, I think, since it was opened (1st year I pointed out some likely-collectibles for them to double-check the value before generally-circulating them). We now return you to the (rather awesome-looking) Cthulhu&Musketeers thread... 😉
  3. Many independent creators avoid Amazon, as a bad market for them to be in. Other people avoid Amazon for ethical reasons. Or maybe the just haven't gotten 'round to putting it up on Amazon, yet. 😁
  4. On a Gloranthan scale, Godzilla is just a somewhat-bigger-and-tougher-than-usual Dream Dragon. A "nightmare" might indeed be apt!
  5. Pretty much, yeah. If it hasn't been published in one of the canon-defining publications by Chaosium, then it's "non canon." It's not as if something "non-canon" is somehow "anti-canon," automatically damaging or contradictory to "canon." There is nothing (at all!) wrong about something not being "canonical;" *MOST* of Glorantha-as-played is "non-canon." I once asked someone from Chaosium how much the Chaosium "in-house games" adhered to "canon." The reply was (paraphrasing from memory): it depends on the GM, but ranges from roughly 25% "canonical" to 50% "canonical" games at their tables. I expect only the most OCD types can match (and seldom if ever exceed) Chaosium's own "%canon" campaigns!
  6. It's the ultimate YGWV, as non-canon. Whatever seems best to you!
  7. It's a kind of "metacurrency" solution -- and not very trad-BRP -- but I rather like this idea. But honestly, not "instead of" traditional CHA &c stats, keep those but give small/no pools to average/low stats, increasing as the characteristic gets better and better. So they have a "just better" stat that's "always on," but also the capacity to "exert themselves" for exceptional situations.
  8. There are the "Dart Warriors;" the most famous person to have been a Dart Warrior is likely Harrek the Berzerk. It's unclear to me if any Lunar assassin working the political arena is a "Dart Warrior," or if there's some extra connotation/requirement/etc to being (or not being) a Dart Warrior. If someone is being assassinated for some other reason -- economics, personal vendetta, etc -- without political motive, I don't think "Dart Warriors" do that (although such crass motives may I suspect be disguised behind a "conventional" Dart-Wars explanation).
  9. Also, to be aware: there's a BUNCH more of these Cults of Runequest titles coming out. Lunars and then Solars are (I think) the next two of them, with Darkness, Water, Chaos & a couple more down the line. I believe there are 10 of them already written (and even mostly done with art & layout!). They'll be interleaved with other projects throughout 2024 and maybe even later. Book 11 has been mentioned, but AFAIK is still being written and has not begun -- or has only barely begun -- getting art commissioned. There's also a Sartar book, and a broader Dragon Pass book (not in the Cults series) alternating with the next 2 Cults books. Brace yourself. Brace your bank account.
  10. Over on FB, Chaosium dropped the link to the cargo-ship carrying these volumes: https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/details/ships/shipid:733448/mmsi:566950000/imo:9597496/vessel:APL_BOSTON It's bound for Sydney, due to arrive late-evening the 9th. No idea what the port situation is, unloading, customs, etc.
  11. There is currently no BRP "Community Content" program, like the JC for RQ (I presume that's the template you mean?) or the MR for CoC.
  12. (also note the OP hasn't logged in here since '09 (fwiw))
  13. My motto: they can make me get older... but they can never make me grow up!
  14. Hullo, Gray Raven; and welcome! That is some serious dedication! I don't know if you've pursued this strategy, but I've gotta recommend writers' groups, workshops & similar "writers' craft" activities. Whenever I write fiction, I've got to set it down for a l-o-n-g time before I can look at it with a fresh-enough eye to see the problems. Writers' groups can really shorten that, IME.
  15. No apologies needed! Strictly my mistake, Øjvind... over on this side of the Atlantic, all the Nordic alphabets kinda blur for me... 8-/
  16. Yes; but while we're at it, take off "yrs" -- a very humanocentric timeframe! "Thar be aliens here, matey!" There are a *bunch* of red-dwarf stars with planets in their so-called "Goldilocks zone," whose "year" is incredibly short... I picked one at random (Trappist-1b) to check, and the year (one revolution around its star) is only 1.5 Terran days long!
  17. Or just a slightly larger space. Some use "#" for lbs; and as long as we're writing our units anyhow, I don't see a separate whole field is all that useful...
  18. From the "Home" (top-level) Forum-view... scroll down past the "Chaosium" ones (BRP, Glorantha, RQ, etc)... and past "The D100 Family" (Mythras, D101 Games, etc) ... ... waaaay down there is "Other Stuff" (of which Alastor's Inn is decidedly a part).
  19. All manner of "about this site" queries are asked (and often answered!) on the "Alastor's Skull Inn" sub-forum...
  20. Frostgrave -- like any established IP (Intellectual Property) -- would need to be licensed... whether produced by Chaosium or by any other ORC licensed publisher. A skilled game-dev could "file off the serial numbers" and produce an ORC-licensed BRP game that would play "Frostgrave" very very smoothly; but all the colorful names, words, terms, & other "Product Identity" would need to be stripped out.
  21. I'm pretty sure Chaosium has remarked that some sort of shipping/import/customs/etc slowdowns are delaying product arrival at the AUS warehouse, but it's expected... "soon."
  22. Equally viable, IMO. I presume your "Urox A" cult would be to provide extra separation from the "problematic" elements that would be some subcult of "Urox B" ?
  23. So long as the Cult features the duality of "Sense Chaos" + mandate to go fight it -- which not all Bull cults seem to have -- I think the Prax/Sartar Uroxi only come in that flavor. Outside Bull-Cultists (Uroxi worshiping other Masks) seem free from that stricture. A unified "Cult of Urox" (for whom "Storm Bull" is one psychopathic chaos-hating sub-cult) seems entirely YGWV'able.
