  1. Ah yes, the frenzy I ignored because I am quite happy with Cthulhu 6 and Orient Express wasnt new.
  2. Would have been nice to have been told this, you know, when it came out. I had no clue. (since I am CS Barnhart)
  3. I should update my profile. I am back in Maryland these days. I have emailed them repeatedly and no reply.
  4. Well its been over a year since it was submitted and over a year since the last Adventure contest and I havent seen either work published. At what point do I yank the Encounters Manual back from Chaosium and just put it out on my own?
  5. Huzzah Baragei! Huzzah! I agree. I am tempted by Achtung Cthulhu but savng my funds for the new Mutant Chronicles and Warzone games! As cool as AC looks, I have Cthulhu rpgs and WW2 rpgs so I think I am set there!
  6. Dustin and Charlie. I know we just got out of the holidays, but I havent heard from them in a while.
  7. I havent had any replies to my emails about certain books they are supposed to be published. I havent been paid for one of those books. They havent updated their web page in 4 months. Does anyone know if they are still alive?
  8. Isnt this just an updated and renamed verson of Skraag City of Orcs from D20?
  9. Glad to hear B'61 has been played LOL. Good news is that the second monograph has be submitted so hopefully more B'61 fun is on its way. This volume is full of encounters and locations that range from espionage, to sci-fi horror to supernatural terror complete with a introductory adventure. Plus I plan to write B'61 adventure submissions for the new adventure contest, one as a sci-fi BRP and one for CoC.
  10. You could redo it as Cowboys and Elder Things or Cthulhu and Indians and do it for Call of Cthulhu.
  11. Book is submitted to Dustin. On to next project, hopefuly its not another 4 year wait LOL
  12. Almost done, just updating two entries for "super hero" stuff. And waiting for the art, which is turning out better than I expected.
  13. Work is still underway on both the new setting/game/genre spinning out of Berlin '61 (simply called '61) and the long over due Encounters Manual for Berlin '61. The Encounters Manual is weighing in currently at 67 pages and looks to bloat to about 75 pages in all, if I decide to throw the x-mas advenutre into the thing then that will push it up to about 85 pages. It is shaping up pretty nice, even if I say so myself with plenty of interesting locations, some horror, some adventure, stats, NPCs and hints and clues at how the world of '61 will be shaped! Look for the Encounters Manual to be released as a independent book (PDF) via Lulu (and probably soft cover option as well) in January, or if I am lucky, Dustin will decide to make it a monograph, which of course will delay its release a bit I imagine. I also plan to try a monthly (or semi monthly) dossier PDF release which will spotlight a new Berlin '61 location, agency, NPC, cult or other factor. The first one of those should be slated for February and while they will be available via lulu as PDF for a small fee, I will provide a free copy of the first three Dossiers to the first 25 people who email me that they are interested in B'61 material (be it for B'61 uses, just to read, to get something free or to read and mock me from afar!)

  16. Well the manuscript is coming along nicely, a few more stat entries and the main focus of the book is complete (with a tad bit more editing). Also have an artist now who is turning in some nice work that is adding to the overall feel of the book. Biggest obstacle left is to finish the adventure for the book and insert some stats for the creatures section. But this book is mainly a collection of encouters and locations that are kind of like mini-campaigns/short adventures. Easily inserted into any Cold War era game, especially horror/supernatural styles.
  17. The Berlin '61 Encounters Manual is about 75% the way done. Trying to gather some art and finish some entries, hopefully will have this thing done by January 1 2012. Unfortunately its going to only be around 50 pages For a reference, here is a list of the encounters. Introduction Institute of Transplantology and Applied Pathology Berlin-Hohenschönhausen Prison “Front” Bar Soviet War Memorial (Tiergarten) The Russian Orthodox Friedhofskirche Laboratory of Sieghild Koenigbaum Ragnarök Cultists' Nest The Restaurant Xenoscorp Short Adventure: The Girl with the Demon Tattoos Common Encounters (Polizei, Stasi, Soldiers and so forth) Animals (self explanatory) Creatures (tentacles, augmented apes, kaozlings) I am trying to work in some references to the next stage in the evolution of '61 will be. But it should be a major departure from Cold War Horror (or as far as a departure as you would want it to be, as the new '61 could very well still have adventures against the supernatural in Berlin). Still toying with the idea of including the Christmas Adventure in the manual. Hoping to here back from Dustin on his thoughts on the book, otherwise it might have to go self released. I would like to continue doing the B'61 setting (and start the '61 setting) under BRP/CoC and not have to use various OGLs to continue the setting on my own.
  18. While still uncertain on Chaosium's interest in B61, I have been busy at work on the project. I have about 50 pages or so of new material and information and what not, not to mention those two adventure booklets that I never finished editing (if I can find them again LOL, damn cluttered computer). But for those of you interested, Berlin '61 is being transformed. When all is done, Berlin '61 will stand as a supplement for what I am working on now, not the other way around. It is going a more lighthearted pulp action adventure feel over the prvious dark noir horror feel, though many of the aspects will remain (Rote Nazi, Office Nine, Brotherhood of the Cloth, Kototh and such) but it will be more of a b-movie Doc Savage/Indiana Jones sorta style to it. I hope to post some samples by end of the year.
  19. Chaosium has stated that they do not believe B61 warrants/needs any more support. While I may still continue with B61 as a project, it looks like it wound be under a different banner, perhaps Gore or MRQ2 or something.
  20. Mysterioso, I think B'61 does provide decent background information, much of it pulled from real sources on life in Berlin during the 60s and gear and equipment of the time. You will find it a good starting place at least for information on the city and setting. However, the initial idea was for Cthulhu horror behind the Berlin Wall. That of course is now falling to a more pulp/b-movie sci-fi genre. The new goal of B'61 is to create a classic Sean Connery James Bond setting that mixes with some Cthulhu, some Steam Punk, some Hellboy and some sci-fi. If you like alternate histories like Tannhauser, Dust, Harry Turtledove, Fatherland and so forth I think the new direction I plan to take it will be appreciated. But it wont be dynamic alternate history, so more along the lines of things that not everyone is aware of but are kept secret from the masses and so forth.
  21. Sorry for the long long long delay in answering. Had to relocate from Europe back to the states and get adjusted from field work to classroom work and get used to being an instructor of combat camera instead of field combat camera. Anyway, a recent break though (having found old notes on an external hard drive) and some new ideas have prompted be back into working on B'61 again. I hope to have the Encounters Manual up and running before August and sent to Dustin (if he will have it) shortly there after. The nw book/pdf should have updated character creation rules to move the game into a more pulp/action setting but still allow the horrow basis to exist with the normal notes for how to use the setting with silver age secret agents or silver age super heroes.
