  1. So, I could not work this out. HOWEVER, a map pack is easy to make and DTRPG does not limit the number of downloads. I chose to add my map pack as a zipped folder of files, and it's just the same process as uploading your PDF. That way you can sort out your legitimate use files for yourself. It may not be perfect, but it's workable, so that's the solution I'll be using.
  2. Could it perhaps also have been updated with a splendid map, Nick? tell us more!
  3. Beer With Teeth are happy to offer Vinga's Ford, an adventure for RQG, set in Dragon Pass but transferable to anywhere you can put a river. https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/315517/Vingas-Ford?affiliate_id=205935
  4. It's good you found a solution. I had a look at this, as Scribus is set up to allow images to be copied and pasted. As far as I can tell, it's a setting on Drivethru RPG, and I haven't managed to isolate exactly where that is. If I find out, I'll upload a map pack.
  5. My players do that when I ask them to make a Scan roll. It's really endearing. At least one has noticed that I don't bother with plot so much as ask them to roll things then build on the fumbles while laughing. But sometimes, you need an elder sorcerer vampire who has been planning their next move for a decade. And hopefully, she won't be rolling on the fumble chart.
  6. Thank you all for your help here. You've given me a good understanding to work from.
  7. Yeah. Slightly off-topic, it does look to me a little like there was reaching for a reason they were like *that* because we need vampires in this game... But the rationale works for me, at least, and I've definitely got some work-arounds for those little weaknesses, which make things more Gloranthan.
  8. I'm hoping for things in the list on https://wellofdaliath.chaosium.com/home/gloranthan-documents/glorantha-2/canon/ I'm happy to go with a cult that is cursed in various ways, however. And aaaaah, vampires stripped of powers in sunlight but not killed by it is a big bit of what I was after, so that one is definitely definitely staying whatever else*. Cults of Terror is 'about 95% canon' by guess, so yay. *unless there's a cult change that says otherwise in which case it's a new sort of vampire anyhow. Thank you. That's a perfect fallback for me if there's nothing 100%, and a good general guide.
  9. Pre-planning. When creating a scenario, assume Divination will be used. Make sure you narrow it down, because someone of the Knowledge Cult probably can't tell where something is buries if it's under the earth. Someone who is of Ernalda will not be able to find out about things happening in Middle Air. The gods require a particular question and will give an answer. They cannot tell you anything about the future, and they have very little knowledge about the past. They don't know specifics. So, 'What will happen if' cannot be answered. 'How should I' can be, but may be from the god's point of view. But above all, consider it first. If your really interesting problem can be solved with Divination, then make sure that there is a really interesting solution too.
  10. In looking through the vampiric powers in the Bestiary, I've noticed that the weaknesses you'd associate with a vampire on hearing the word are not present. I'm told there are references to such weaknesses elsewhere, and I can always make a 'special' vampire, but are there any rules that are canonical to RQ:G about running water or sunlight, for example? I can easily sub-class my vampire and make it a new semi-species to avoid the problem, but I'd prefer to know if the Guide to Glorantha, for example, gives a list of weaknesses that are not in the Bestiary, or if, in fact, I'm bringing real-world thinking to Middle World action. I'm noting that there are vampiric cult-specific Rune Spells which are not mentioned, so presumably within the new Gods and Goddesses of Glorantha there will be a Vivamort write-up, and if there is nothing written down I'll invoke the spirit of Making Stuff Up, but knowing if there's anything written down that might already be being built on would be useful.
  11. "Standard of living for free person, 60L." Obviously, you tell your people to bring food. If you're generous, you provide it. If you're a thane, you spend more money - but you don't have to run these numbers. It's already done. 250L for a thane, and look grateful to your overlord.
  12. Ciabatta itself, however, was created in 1982, and is a case of baguette envy. If you try to march with bread made of holes, what you end up with is bread made of crumbs.
  13. p9 'four genders and six sexes' -> 'four sexes and six genders'. p65 'See Into the Lake (Reducks) on page 17.' -> 'See Into the Lake (Reducks) nearby.' p17 is Pegasus Plateau Art. p79 'bond of a fatherless children' -> bond of [-a] fatherless children p84 guilt (and red blotches) -> guilt, covered in red blotches p96 "Skuk's Hit Locations" -> Sku[l]k's Hit Locations' on hit locations title. p96 'failure meaning it has taken two hours instead of one. If no one has this skill, no attempt is made.' - does this mean that if there are no Storm Bulls in the party, success is automatic? p108 'nothing dangerous lives in these warrens.' -> 'nothing dangerous lives in these caverns.' (The warrens, from the paragraph below, are indeed dangerous.)
  14. p83 under Divination: 'worshipper' -> 'worshiper' UK spelling -> US spelling p92 'sources fresh water' -> sources of fresh water
  15. p114 - 12 meters (7 yards) -> 12m is about 13 yards. p117 - The outside of each spire is approximately the same: roughly 12 meters (7 yards) tall and 100 meters (109 yards)... The spires are tall and thin, and probably about 6m across at the base, but on the outside of a 100m circle. This needs making clear. Again, 12m = 13 yards. p124 Throngee promises to 'trade up to two points of spirit magic' but this is an Etyries ability - he can trade Rune Spells, but only with Priests. Is this a thing that the Issarian Temple can do? p131: "is Marara's own" -> "is Maharo's own" p138 "refrain from killing Jongar the Impala prince" -> "refrain from killing Maharo the Impala prince," p154 "but he's grateful Orlanthi gave" - "but he's grateful Orlanth gave" p154 The map key has 5 as 'Ernalda Temple' but in the text this is 'The Old Hall'. The alignment on the 8 and the 10 on the map seems out. The numbers there seem different sizes. Tamper's Well is in the middle of a square, not along a main road. Things specific to Crimson Petals, which I have therefore been able to go through much more closely. Apologies for some of these: p 70 Yeresta offered around potions that would guarantee sons or daughters, increase[-d] fertility, and strengthen the[-ir] libido. p70 Kallinda/Kalinda - different spellings. Kalinda -> Kallinda in right column paragraph 2. p71 Harel the Dull: Reverse order of sentences 'He is 30-year-old initiate of the farming god Barntar. Notable skills are Fast Talk 45% and Orate 40%.' to give consistency with other descriptions. Add indefinite article. 'Notable skills are Fast Talk 45% and Orate 40%. He is a 30-year-old initiate of the farming god Barntar.' p72 'crops could have died before maturing, or just fail to grow' -> 'crops could have died before maturing, or just failed to grow' p73 'greeted by the village’s chieftain, Kanarg' - His stat block calls him Chieftain of the Clan. -> "Clan's chieftain" p73 Kanarg has his Rune Spells twice. He's good but not that good. p74 'when not in practice on a raid' -> 'when not in practice or on a raid' p74 'He is the war leader of the village' -> 'He is the war leader of the clan' p75 Bad logic in sentence structure. 'They are united in thinking his wife Jeninda deceived him, but all of them have some remnants of honor.//Still, they have honor where he does not;... -> 'All of them have some remnants of honor, but they are united in thinking his wife Jeninda deceived him.//Still, they have honor where he does not' p77 As mentioned above, Senela has double Rune Spells. The lower set seems to be the correct one. p78 Lay Member of Barntar - Orlanthi seem to be Initiates more often than not. The Rune Options give some balanced Runes at 50%. p79 Minstar's father is described elsewhere as an officer. 'His father was a passing Lunar' -> 'It is known his father was a Lunar' p 79 Jena is usually very quiet but also ambitious and talks for Karlag... 'Jena is passionate about learning and getting things correct.//Talented with tally sticks, usually very quiet.' -> 'Jena is passionate about learning and getting things correct. She is talented with tally sticks, and confident about herself.' p80 the Child Ring probably don't have access to spirit magic, but might be able to access items that have it, in their households. The Rune options give some balanced Runes at 50%. p81 Yeresta's 2nd para. Move 'if challenged' sentence to end of paragraph. p81 'As well as dealing with any number of the spirits, the adventurers must deal with Rastip...' This paragraph appears to belong at the end of Crisis and Resolution, p83.
  16. I never knew that. @Thaz and I co-wrote it. Oy! Thaz! They like it!
  17. I must admit that I was SURPRISED AF to find that the mission was taking precedence, but was happy to run with it. For one, I could have held it over the Storm Bull for ages.
  18. I think that's in Rune Fixes 2. I'm pretty sure I saw it as an expansion to the rules, rather than within the core rules.
  19. We take it again from the next time you can cast spirit magic, which may, depending on your statement of intent, be at the start of the next Melee Round. One interesting thing from that is that you get to curse your weak spirit (or in the case of an unfortunate Humakti and a set of very bad rolls recently, your failure to connect to your god). In general, people tend to give up on a thing after a few failures and do something else instead, despite there being no mechanical reason to. Obviously there is some reason it is not working; take your spirit's hint and do something else.
  20. A Critical success with Rune Magic casts the spell for free - you don't spend the Rune points but do get the effect. A Fumble spends the Rune points but you don't get the effect - the power drains from you.
  21. https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/304768/Stone-and-Bone?affiliate_id=205935 hit silver yesterday and we have updated it with a picture of a scorpion, some fun scorpion facts, and (sigh) an update from a biologist who was looking at me very sternly. Terran scorpions have a cephalothorax, apparently. What this means is that the legs are all up at the front, just behind the head. If you've picked up your copy already, there's now a small update with a labelled scorpion picture to admire.
  22. Amazingly enough, I did consider this. I can sell you the typo edition... I save the version numbers, generally. What happened was that I had been working on two computers and saved the work from one over another, blatting a pair of maps once I had created and checked them (and ticked them off my to-do list). The other map I put right without even thinking that the hunting lodge map was a problem. So if you would like, take a black pen and a scalpel, and remove the directional stair arrows and the numbers on the hunting lodge. Play the encounters in any order, and you can call it a feature!
