el_quinto_hombre
I was reading the Stormbringerrpg website when I discovered that there is a book for MRQII Elric of Melniboné called Secret of the Steppes. Would it be possible to get the book on pdf? Would anyone be so kind as to share it? Thanks!
nclarke
Piracy is not allowed here. Do not ask for pirated material. 1 Quote Nigel

nclarke
PDF's aren't transferrable. Your only hope is to pick up a copy on an auction site or from somewhere like Noble Knight Games which specialises in second hand printed material. 1 Quote Nigel
el_octogono
I thought that supplement never got published... Quote Check my Lobo Blanco - Elric RPG (now in english!)
SDLeary
Looks like it was, in 2012. NobleKnight has a listing, but is "Sold Out". SDLeary PS: Holy S**t... the Mongoose Elric core book has a $150 asking price on the site! Edited February 16, 2020 by SDLeary

(But note that it was Legend, not MRQII.) I forget if it's rare because of low print run or loss of Elric license (or both), but if you didn't get it when it came up, it's a tough one now. Probably on par with Chaosium monographs, actually. 1 Quote 44/

The original company could/would protect the rights to their product. In addition, Mongoose no longer has the rights to Elric or any of the other Eternal Champion characters and can't sell pdfs of the old Strombringer line. If they could, they would probably have made the PDFs available long ago. That's one of the drawback to a licensed product line. All anyone can do, legally, is sell any back stock they may or may not have, at whatever price they can get for it and feel comfortable accepting. You can probably find a copy on EBay or some online story that specializes in out of print stock, but the prices for stuff that way can get absurd. Unfortunately, "discontinued" (and therefore unavailable) is NOT equivalent to "freely available in e-copy". If this is based on Michael Moorcock's work, he is still the sole owner of the (c). As noted, NobleKnight and online stores like e-bay/amazon for used are your most likely options. But "second hand PDF" is not a thing! You can, at least under European law, sell a pdf you own legally. You would have to delete ALL copies you have.

This is interesting to me. How is that "ownership" ultimately tracked? If "C" sells a PDF they created to "B," and "B" then sells it to "A" ... does "C" know of "A," or get informed? (Many seller/creators, AFAIK, are pretty generous with their "re-download" policy... someone goes to the seller and says "my hard drive crashed" or "my Cloud storage got hacked/deleted" and they can re-download their content. I don't believe this is legally mandated, just widely held to be "good policy.") If "A" is now the legal owner, they should have the same D/L privileges with "C" (the same as "B" had)... But C doesn't know A from Adam. I can see a bunch of other knotty legal quandaries lurking in the shadows, too... bigbrother
It must be incredibly rare. I've been looking daily on Ebay for a copy for about 2 years and have never seen a copy for sale.
