Turtleshell Cuirass

I thought my skill in armour of the ancients was pretty good, but what is a Turtleshell Cuirass?  And does anyone have any links to pictures?

Included in Armies and Enemies of Dragon Pass, and illustrated.

On page 216 of RQ:G it's described as a chestpiece of turtleshell, wood, and bronze.

It's favoured by Humakti, especially amongst the Grazelanders who associate it with the cult of Hiia Swordsman.

While it has been depicted as just a large turtleshell over their body, it could also be something more like this. (Although using thongs or similar to connect the plates of bronze and turtleshell rather than chain.)

Thanks, a rather splendid looking piece.

I was finding it difficult to visualise something that's just a list of ingredients...

I suspect that it does, but probably split into panels.

Or maybe just a bigger shell, in back?

I like how you've made smaller ones into pauldron / spaulder pieces!

I might wonder if poleyn pieces (knees) might have been similarly constructed, at some times / in some places ... ?
