smiorgan
This was to be the announced 2008 BRP cover at some point. It wasn't exactly well received. And it got substituted by the Vitruvian-Chaosian man we all know and love, which graced the BGB and now illustrates in multiple variants the new and improved 2023 "Universal Game Engine". I must confess it always makes me smile affectionately. I love how it cites the classic RQ3 cover and, at the same time manages to be completely disjointed as a composition. The BRP UGE has better art for sure but nothing that bizarre... 6 1
rsanford
Ooooo - I liove the cover ! Quote Check out our homebrew rules for freeform magic in BRP -> No reason for Ars Magica players to have all the fun!
DreadDomain
Good memories. I don't mind the cover but the Vitruvian was much better. Iconic!
Agentorange
Always reminds of the artwork for the Trigan Empire comic strip.
pululon
Looks quite good and crazy, I would have liked this illustration to be included in some way
Susimetsa
That's certainly a fun illustration, even if the characters look like giants in comparison to the other elements. 🙂
Nakana
Personally I’m glad that they didn’t use that cover. Artwork has too much of a 70s vibe and the title looks like it is written with ketchup. 1 1 Quote BGB = BRP Gold. New book = BRP Platinum. Stay metal. It is whimsical, for sure, but I like the Vitruvian person much more. 🙂 Edited April 18 by Susimetsa
dieselpunk
Kind of like the pulp vibe, but it definitely wouldn't have aged well.

Yeah, I kinda like it for the WTF factor, but my tastes are probably not to be trusted. Edited April 23 by Perry Holley
Mugen
I'm biased, as this reminds me of the different covers of the French game Mega, which was about agents able to travel though Time, Space and different Dimensions. Heavuily influenced by the Time Patrol, or Valérian.
Ravenheart87
That cover reminds me of Arduin. 1 Quote Wielder of the Vorpal Mace.
