  1. RQG has been an incomplete game since day 1. Heroquesting IS part of the setting and lifes of the player's characters. If someone tells a new player that the best option is to buy material 30 or 40 years old... Well something is very wrong in Chaosium. Nobody is worried about battle or sailing rules but Heroquesting... It's essential. That's the reason my group is giving a try to The One Ring 2e. I know that a lot of new players think the same. Finish your game Chaosium, and then give us a call.
  2. Nothing, is only that with the new policy of release pdf at the same time that physical copy this 2022 is going to be a blank year for RQ. Of course is Chaosium's problem not ours. I have just move to another game with my group, maybe in a couple of years we will give it another try. I am not an old timer so I am fine with that.
  3. Yes, and the release of the Sartar set is more important from player perspective, player base and money-making than the Gods books which is important of course but has its focus on old timers and context. You tell the people hey you start in 1625-1626 and then wait 3 years until we release a book to explain what happened in the setting 1627. Just my opinion of course.
  4. RQG has to bring new gamers to the fold if it has to survive beyond "Old timers"
  5. Hello, I would like to know what's going on with RQG and Chaosium? Six months without even a supplement is a lot of time for a RPG publisher and if you compare with CoC well, it seems RQG is absolutely secundary for Chaosium. I mean, I understand business is business after all, but it is a pity that a setting so cool as Glorantha does not have more products. JC is nice but is not Chaosium. Best regards.
  6. July if we are lucky enough. I have the feeling that they are waiting to the GM book be finished.
  7. I asked because Jeff in his post of April 23 confirmed that Charisma is not a Donandars spell. Same thing with multispell. Maybe I misunderstood. I am not complaining, I think Charisma for an artist is a "Must" is a "Mike Jagger/Beatles" spell.
  8. Uhm... So, does it have Charisma and multispell or not? Just asking. 🤔
  9. Yes, I prefer a pdf first so the corrections can be made before goes to printers.
  10. Just a request🙂 . Please Jeff, can you speed up the cults book? so we can explore other mythologies beyond the "why elmal is better than Yelmalio", "Yelmalio sucks as a war god" or " I don't like other gods rune magic because sucks except for yelm, Orlanth and ernalda" thing. I mean, I think many of us would like to go deeper.
  11. For me as a GM, Chaos is how the PREDARK appears inside the cosmos, is a wound in the cosmos where life itself leaks into the void. That wound appears because the "the logic" of the world has been weaked to the breaking point. The patterns that where established at the creation and that keep the world and I call LAW has been weaked so much that it is as if there were a hole.
  12. Donandar also have I think Charisma, do you know how useful is in social encounters or with the new heroquest rules?. Illusion spells magics in heroquest are tremendously useful. Remember, Illusions are real stuff.
  13. Cults and Heroquesting rules are the grand stoppers I think. Once those two are out, the doors will be fully open. Cults is a foundational text with lots of beautiful art not easy to layout with limited resources. And Heroquesting rules well... "A lot of expectation" is too short way to say it. I have read people have been waiting for almost 30 years, so no pressure here😬 better do it right😉
  14. It has a lot of gods/goddesses with their Runes and a brief explanation. I think 126 pages. That's a lot of info. In Cults Book I think we will get 100 cults explained deeply and these will be the "bread and butter" of the setting and herowars campaign.
  15. I suspect that they will release Prosopaedia and dragon pass gazzeteer before summer, and cults book, gm book in the third quarter. I think culst book layout is the problem here.
  16. This is not confronting the Devil, only looking for and getting the Star heart. The player confront weakness, failures and being truly alone and lost. But I understand what you explain. These are going to be the mechanics not the role-playing. That part you explain I planned to use it with the Devils part. I read about Sir Ethilrist confronting the huge jackbear and I got the idea of a doppelganger fueled by chaos trying to negate the heroquester, an antimatter of sorts. That's the soul destruction part.
  17. Hi, I am preparing a partial star heart heroquest. And I would like your opinion. When my player pass the Second Son I plan to manage the next stage this way. 1- take every rune power or form which is above 50 and add it to the pool. You have stasis 75 then add 75 to the pool because Change 25 is weak for you and now is empowered. 2- divide the pool by the number of empowered Runes you added. For example (75+80+90)/3. That's the number that represent your weakness. 3- roll cha x 5 or less to get your inspiration bonus. 4-roll against weakness number for a bonus as inspiration against you. This is the cosmos testing you. 5- you have to get 7 Victory points in the resistance table to win. confronting the rune you choose +inspiration + 10 from mastery rune, versus the weakness number+"weakness inspiration" If you win you sacrifice 1 Pow or more and get access to the Charisma spell and the passion Star heart as boons If you fail by 1,2 then you lose 1 point of POW and 1 point of cha. 3,4 you lose 2 points each. 5,6 3 points + a Fear passion. 7 roll in madness spell table. If you are stronger in the beast rune the force confronting you take the humanoid form or if you are an aldryani with high man rune value it takes a plant related form. What do you think?
  18. Thank you David, I was perplexed because there is a special link between the Sable people and the moon rune and I didn't understand that twin stars as founder have the fire rune. I hope someday you or someone in Chaosium explain how they seduced eiritha and become founders. I find Sable people very interesting for roleplaying, many wounds and rifts to heal and the perception of the other Tribes about them. Really interesting.
  19. So, before the red moon coming did Sable people get magic from their ancestor through the fire rune? . I thought that spirit was one of the few moon rune spirits in prax from before the Great Darkness. I Am confused about this.
  20. Oh, OK. It is that I think is very interesting for roleplaying how those Sable traditionalist operate in a Lunar Prax and the answers they may seek. Particularly Roneer the hue point of view about the Sable conversion. Sorry if I explain myself poorly but English is not my language. I have been reading other posts, yours particularly about praxian tradition. I asume that the Charisma spell is only from (hidden ancestor-twin stars moon+fire Runes) spirit cult not the spells available from the Twin Stars spirit society. Am I correct? Thanks
  21. Only Charisma? I mean, for a mate of eiritha and ancestor of a whole Tribe, offers less magic that black fang for example. Just surprised, I am fine with twin stars giving only charisma. Thanks.
  22. Is the magic of those conservative Stables still cyclical. I mean, is Benison spell cyclical for traditionalist Stables.
  23. Yep, I would attack when Orlanths ring is not in the sky but in the underworld for example, and in the full moon day. I think that Celestial Lore check is in order 😁
  24. Thanks David, I am still don't know how the Spirit Rune works in RQG, I understand Beast, Plant and Man Runes. Your guidance on this matter is appreciated.
  25. Hello friends, I have a doubt and your insights would be much appreciated. I bought Griffin Mountain (while I am waiting for the Sartar box) . When I read about Firshala Fire+Spirit I realize that three of her spells (summon ancestor, especific ancestor, teacher spirit) are Man rune spells (I also have Red book of magic). The question I have is if I should remove those spells and maybe put "Divert fire" in their place or some other appropriate fire rune spell. Is the Spirit rune a sort of joker that can be used instead of other form runes in the cults runes description?. I mean, every spirit cult has de spirit rune and there are no consequences beyond that. Right or wrong? So all magic goes through the Main rune of the cult, in this case Fire rune. I also have Bestiary, and Aldrya offers Reflection (an Illusion, Moon) spell. It seems odd because her cult Runes are life+earth+plant. Is posible then that a God offers a rune spell whose Runes are not of the cult? Or maybe is the spell associated with the rune powers used in the myths? I mean, tooth pain spell could be used through disorder, beast, even fire if you get the same effect only a different source. If a God can offer spells outside of cults Runes then I leave Firshala as was written. She is a minor goddess/spirit so no associates/sub cults yet. Thanks
