  1. Although a cool idea, it then limits coming across more of them.
  2. The trolls of Dagori Inkarth are within the the influence of the Storm mountains, so it would seem natural that some would naturally be born with the air rune as dominant. In HeroQuest Glorantha terms it would just a case of picking Air instead of Darkness, but I think that's too simple. I think they have Air as their third Rune. @boztakang how are you approaching the rune spread of trolls. In RQG it will be the case that they have a high Air rune. Evidence of a previous orlanth following troll is not a reason why. Personally I'd adjust this to 1% in light of the cult population number I've done for the Wastes.
  3. I'm pretty sure that @Rick Meints knows the original 1st edition numbers.

  6. This is the thread where you can post any corrections that are needed in the Week 15 Guide to Glorantha Group Read of Maniria and Pent. Please note that there will be a different thread each week to post corrections. This weeks page range is page 350 up to and including page 372. Please include the text to be corrected and the correction. @Rick Meints has clarified versions of the Guide, please check your errors against the latest PDF:
  7. As virtually no one has Tales 1, i'm going to let you the viewer decide yourself: ©1989 Jim Turner and is used without permission. If you know Jim then let him know he's still famous.
  8. The original is still available here: http://www.glorantha.com/docs/not-enough-room-in-the-ark/
  9. Rather than dismissing it completely, I see this entry as a great adventure hook. It doesn't have to be a large tribe, maybe just a single or a few families. Perhaps they are like a small hidden green, drifting in and out of this time and back into the golden age or were originally associated with the palace. Perhaps they have natural protective magic given the source of their beast and the trollkin don't touch them. Perhaps Belintar put them there after he found them on one of his quests. Lots of scope for using this in a rich fantasy world.
  10. Shadow Plateau - Dragon Pass Gazetteer page 48.
  11. Greg's archive has a file called Green Age Ralios, a 1500 or so word commentary about a visit to the Green Age The doc has two references to Lord Llama with no mention of "High".
  12. I've had a good look through my website copies and can't find any reference to this. Can you remember anymore?
  13. Yes it seems @metcalph did the same.
  14. I don't think there is really much to explain. Clearly when the beast rune was made, there was some kind of elemental involvement and so the High Llamas came into being. They aren't humped in my mind as their natural water connection allows them the luxury of built in water control. It does of course have more to do with the way Greg created the tribes for Nomad Gods, one for each element. The same elemental question can be asked of the other tribes too. So in reality that's just the way it is.
  15. You seem to have misread the text regarding the High Llama Pass. The Llama people mentioned on page 225 of the Guide aren't High Llama people, they are Llama hsunchen (not High Llama hsunchen). The High bit of High Llama Pass refers to the Pass, not the people. Like Wyrms High Pass, or Kartolin Pass, which is referred to as a high pass as is Nanguan Pass. They're not connected to the Praxians as they are completely different animals.
  16. They are in the Bestiary. This is a preview of the rules. I'm pretty sure they had a copy of the Bestiary at Gen Con to look through..
  17. Meanwhile after being trapped in the internet for the last hour, I just had to add this one: CHANNELING FRANCIS BACON, ARTIST PAINTS OVER THE GRAPHIC IMAGES OF TERRY RICHARDSON’S ‘TERRYWORLD’ It's the redissolved pigments of the original photos used as colour that gives this the edge. While the original work was undoubtably NSFW, this is okay apart from the kinda horror effect... https://www.featureshoot.com/2014/07/channeling-francis-bacon-artist-paints-over-the-graphic-images-of-terry-richardsons-terryworld/
  18. This is undoubtably Francis Bacon, however I couldn't resist googling "insane British painter that created disturbing images" Bacon comes in at number 13... http://mentalfloss.com/article/31477/13-disturbing-pieces-art-history Number 1 and 2 here certainly complete with him http://listverse.com/2014/04/19/10-of-the-most-unsettling-modern-artists/ some of our resident artists may be able to point us to weirder stuff though... @Dogboy, @Jan Pospisil and @Jenx

  20. This is really out of date - 2007. Much like Seashore an old Mac port of GIMP, the current release of GIMP is now much better that these products.
  21. This is my main area of work in my job, I support artists and designers in mac/windows environments. I'm also an independent adobe trainer. Since the introduction of the CC subscription service it's been a hot topic for most of my clients. I too am still on CS5.5 Design standard. For Photoshop alternatives I've focused mainly on GIMP on mac/windows, it's a bit unsatisfying but it does work. For a vector replacement I'm focusing on Inkscape, you need the X11 environment installed on a mac, but it does the job producing native SVGs. I've not found anything remotely useful compared to InDesign. I only use it for mocking up things roughly, so I use Apple's Pages natively on a mac/ipad as it handles graphics very well. On windows I use the Web version. It depends on what you are using acrobat pro for. I use it for PDF assembly, but have discovered that Apple's Preview can do that just as well. For OCR I'm using an app on my iPad called scan pro by Readdle. It works really well. I've not found any particular package that does bookmarking or forms as well. At a bare minimum I'd have to buy a single app CC license for Illustrator, use GIMP and muddle through with other stuff.
  22. No. One is about the power of the moon within the glow line, the other is about what the phases actually do. In other words you can't do more or less with a phase if the moon is at greater or lesser power.
