I can't help but wonder if it would be the equivalent of hitting a wasps nest with a stick.....

I could run with that. the quote from the module about it spawning chaos would fit in nicely with that, indeed pretty much states it outright.

Like many a grizzled runequest player i cut my teeth on the Snakepipe Hollow module - the one with Bigclub the Giant fighting the giant snake on the front cover. The introduction said " it periodically spawns or attracts monstrous things" and that chaotic things that survived the I fought We Won battle found "cover in the deep earth." But just how chaotic is it really ? there's only so many places for chaotic creatures to hide out. A limited number of cave systems are marked on the maps ( though there may be many we don't know about. ) And given that heroes regularly venture there you'd have to ask how does the chaos keep replenishing itself ? Where does it sneak in from... Is snakepipe hollows reputation overated, is it's chaotic bark worse than it's bite ?

Any news on when this might get to the UK warehouse. The starter set has now arrived and I've ordered a copy as my christmas prezzie to myself 😃 No sign of the Red Book though....any news ?

What it says really. I keep checking over at Chaosium but no signs of these items in the UK warehouse. Does anybody from Chaosium have an idea of when the re stock is likely to happen ? Even a rough ETA would be fine......

Went to see it about 3 weeks back, thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. Exactly what i was hoping for in many ways. looking forward to part 2.......

Attempting to return to the original question.... I think they are people and I think Windchild has it nailed down by pointing out they have INT ( or free INT under old RQ rules ). That makes them sentient and that in my book makes them people. They might be be disgusting, horrible people who pose a deadly threat...but people none the less.

Well, on the basis that Glorantha can be all about world shaking events and deep mystical resonance etc. Perhaps there could be some kind of Chalana Arroy heroquest that could be enacted to purify the broo or free them from their bestial chaotic natures ? other people have suggested similiar approaches furhter up the thread and it does seem a good way of resolving the situation. Could be quite challenging from a gaming point of view - but that could be fun in itself.

Hurrah ! I shall keep a close eye on the chaosium site and then Alynx like I shall pounce....

I must admit i haven't bought it yet - because it's not showing as available in the UK on the Chaosium website. I could buy from the EU warehouse I suppose but then there's all sorts of expensive import taxes to worry about. Same with The Red book of Magic, can't buy it if it's not available......

I keep checking on the Chaosium website to see if this is in the UK warehouse, but alas it never seems to be. does anybody know if or when it might be available ?

Ah, thanks for that, I did wonder if it was something like that. A shame really they produced some fine stuff in their time . I still read my copies of Tradetalk to this day when the mood takes me.

What it says really, back in the day it was published quite regularly the Chaos society also had other publications: Shadows of Pavis etc etc.....and then it all just stopped. I've had a quick look around online but haven't found an explanation, but figured someone here was bound to know......
