  1. T I had thought I had posted this late last night, (of course posting late at night might be the prob)... the Rune font errors I mentioned were on a modern Mac with modern OS and Preview as my PDF reader. Adobe reader cleared up the problem.
  2. These can not be the correct runes can they? Oh, the Chaos Rune for sure, but Stasis? For a spell that transforms things? Claws was originally in the RQ G core book, surprise, Beast Rune!
  3. Did not see Absorption listed in a search so I assume this has not been noted. Kyger Lytor gives Absoprtion but in the Red Book the ruins powering the spell are Water and Harmony. While a troll with Harmony is possible and Water a little more unlike KL”s runs are Darkness and Man. Is this an oversight?
  4. A new Bob’s Bison Burger franchise? Sorry!
  5. Hmm, I have not found this, but I have heard you mention this before, what is the tale to be told here? I am splitting royalties myself on a couple of projects and if the split is a good one, it is as Nick says. Seems cool.
  6. Looks good but have I the right to say I spotted the first edit? The Magic Rune has been replaced throughout with a box (surely this should be a stylized R?). .
  7. Now I had not considered that possibility, good sir. I will now go and contemplate.... all teasing folk, do not take me too seriously here. ETA The only thing to take seriously is that due to great design decisions you get a lot more than RQ G and JC games to play with!
  8. Good one Eff! Great questions.
  9. yeah, had to be a misunderstanding. All I was doing was agreeing with a previous post. A reasonable one at that. It aint an auto correct... It's is a Spell Chk Daimon... an obscure denizen of one of the more horrifyingly bureaucratic hells. Handwavium for all!
  10. I say "they don’t" GMs often do not slavishly follow the modules and even if they do, they will change it a little pre-game to suit their table rather than kill all with a poorly thought out set of stat blocks. So I aver that they do not need a lot of modding in actual play, the conversions are insignificant. no more than should always be done to be sure the challenge is a good one. As Hteph says. and I paraphrase... sprinkle with appropriate runes add whatever percentage your table needs for a challenge and voila. So, how does this differ from Htrph’s original comment to which I agreed? Cheers
  11. My condolesences Kloster, but the Great Courses should be at those URLs even in Europe. Perhaps there is an inexpensive way to access them because believe me they are very much worth it even at full price. Anyone know of a European equivalent or a way for our friends across the waters to access Kanopy or The Great Courses at a reasonable rate. Just looked into it. No, you will have to find a European streaming equivalent. I called The folk at the Great Courses Plus (the streaming service not the very expensive DVDs), found out it was 20 bucks a month, it offered a free trial and was not available across the pond (the plus service, the dvds are). Sorry, but I will bet someone knows of something cool for over there. Learning stopped at an ocean... that is so 19th century!
  12. Can not see a reason to open a new thread, so move over Delicti, It’s necro-thread casting time! Just reading the original EQ series for my third time...woohoo, I was not aware of just how rereadable this puppy (see what I did there, huh?) was. Just as thrilling and heartbreaking and surprising as it always was! And i had a copy of the game and sea elves (?) in my sweaty hands at a 2nd hand book store 20 years ago and said, nah, I will get it tomorrow! Waugh!
  13. Yes, I think that is mostly correct as I understand it. there are more knowledgeable than I on Are Magica. One thing I think is part of the idea and if not it is definitely part of my idea of multiple characters is that they need not always be in play. This gives the band flexibility in its response to problem. It also allows the player to reintegrate into play easier, seeing as there his always another character to be played.
  14. Hmm, how’s about an RQ G sorcerous troupe theme...a la Ars Magica in Pavis as an update to Strangers in Prax’s third scenario. You might want to wait for the whole sorcery rules but.. Hey @Joergwant to run this? Online?
  15. Oh great lords and ladies, oops! Thanks @creativehum! Yes, apologies @lordabdul. I blotted that bad memory from my mind. I have yet to ty to update anything else from the sheer fear of the memory's return.
  16. jeez lordabdul, I am truly sorry to hear all that effort was needed. I seem to recall, with the slipcases anyway, that Dustin was wonderful in doing all the work when I mentioned I would be needing my coupons. I wonder if I am misremembering that now. Good luck @creativehum!
  17. See the first sentence of my post good sir. We are in agreement.
  18. Ooo , that is my forte... Yes, be sure to let those who wish to, to roll a pair of characters, and encourage those who do not to reconsider. Have them be a group/clan/family/Band of Brothers/married couple etc... to have a good reason to have each others back (a very good thing in a small party). Feel free to let them have those little (emphasis on little) extras that players always ask for—that GMs are reluctanct to give. Consider one big item. Have them travel with NPCs they trust. Familiars or Bound spirits, or... might well help. Feel free to drop an enemy or two (literally or just their stats). As this will take a bit of time to get used to until you get the formulae right for your table do not fear Handwavium (fudge it). Numbers are very telling in RQ so take a good look at that herd of trollkin. Should it be cut in half or replaced by one or two Trolls? Good luck and keep us informed of the results and insights you gain as a result of running this very nice change of pace from the large parties, please.
  19. I have been finding the Great Courses and the Great Courses Plus: https://www.thegreatcourses.com or https://www.thegreatcoursesplus.com to be of tremendous help in inspiring my gaming. I get them for free from my library through Kanopy.com and I recommend you start with your city or educational library to gain the access that you might already have. Many libraries that have digital learning capabilities grant access to Kanopy and Kanopy recommends you ask your library to consider doing so if it does not. One of the courses I am working through right now is The Barbarian Empires of the Steppes with Kenneth W. Harl as host, looking at the Xiongnu Confederacy,. the Scythians, the Huns and the Mongols. So how could examining steppe dwelling barbarians help your Glorantha Fu? How could it not?
  20. Was he the blond one? I can certainly see that cheer at a trollball game!
  21. Iceland war chant... That’s the entire country in the square!
  22. Me, I like @GMKen’s cheer , I mean mine is simple enough that even a food trollkin can remember it but there is something to the retro appeal of his throwback to mid last century (me, I say never mind the 50’s, it is so 8th century). but I wonder if anyone has a better cheer yet. So come on, kick off's about to happen, you got the beetles and dip all bowled up. a few kerpowzies chilli’ and yer sporting yer fave teams colours, but, do you remember yer cheers?
  23. Sorry for sidetracking, have started a thread fot Trollball cheers
